Aurora
Sawyer was silent as he kept his eyes on me. I swear I could hear him in my mind. It was nothing but affirmations of his love and praise. He also cursed himself for being useless. He hated feeling powerless, and it was a new sensation for him. Me, I’d spent most of my life in fear and taking orders. I put on a brave face as Archer took me into the room. I couldn’t stop the shiver of fear. My body was screaming for the man on the other side of the door and was repulsed at the one standing in front of me.
“Alright, Wife, let’s get this taken care of.”
“Aurora.”
“What did you say?” his eyes went cold.
I should have kept my mouth shut, but I couldn’t. I felt bolder, my mind sharper, and fury rising. “My name isn’t Wife. It’s Aurora. I’m a person.”
“Yet no one cared to ask you about any of your thoughts or feelings. You are whatever I tell you, you are. You belong to me. Wife, you should know this. I was promised a good little bitch. Close your mouth and open your legs. However, I’d be the happiest man if you didn’t. If you made me take what is mine.”
“I’ll never be yours.”
He groaned as I saw his cock twitch to life under his slacks. I was working him up. It was time to make him lose control. My wolf was rumbling under my skin, waiting to strike. We were waiting on the clock. “I’m curious what you are hiding under that dress.” He walked over and let his claws out, and shredded the front of it. I ran to the bed to grab a sheet and cover the little white lingerie I had on. “You can’t hide. Your body belongs to me.” He stalked towards me, stopping at a suitcase to grab something. It shouldn’t have been, but the natural brown rope shocked me. I was back against the wall holding the sheet, and he looked thrilled until he pulled the fabric out of my hand.
There on my shoulder was the glaring red bite that couldn’t be hidden. I slapped the tender spot. “I said I would never be yours.”
“You fucking whore.” He backhanded me so hard I momentarily blacked out. I felt him tying me to one of the posts of the bed. I fought. He loved fighting. But I felt my wolf. She was so close. He whipped off his belt and slapped my exposed inner thigh. I screamed in pain. “Tell me, little slut, who did you let play with you?”
“No.” He slapped my other cheek as he pulled the ropes tighter and higher, pushing my breasts up further. Standing over me, he bent his head down and spitefully bit the soft flesh until I felt blood well. Another scream escaped. I pleaded for him to stop. This wasn’t the passionate exchange of bites that I’d had with Sawyer, this was something else entirely, and I hated it. “You had everybody fooled, I was told I was getting an obedient virgin bride, and instead, I have a bruised-up whore.”
He began to shuck off his pants and pull his cock out. I turned my head, not wanting it anywhere near me. “I’m not a slut or a whore.”
“Really? That bite says differently. Fuck I don’t think I’ve even made that mark before on one of my girls. You’d have to be a pain whore to be so close to the jugular and the control. No, I’ve never seen a mark like that.” He laughed as he ran his finger between my breasts and down to the top of my panties. “We might be a better match than I’d planned. First, I have to fuck this cunt to knock you up.” I wiggled away from his, but the rope’s knots were tight, and I didn’t have much room to escape. “Now tell me,” he ran his finger down lower over my panties to in between my ass cheeks, “has this little hole been taken.” I cringed and screamed for him to get away from me. I kicked at his hand since my legs were still free. “Excellent, I was promised a cherry to pop, and I’ve fine with making a tight little asshole bleed. Perfectly fine. But duty first.”
He pulled my body down the bed, stretching my arms in terrible pain. He took the thin fabric of my panties and ripped them at the side, cutting my thigh in the process. His cock was nearly purple from his straining erection.
I needed the fucking bells to chime. It had to be close. Time had to be up.
He yanked my legs apart, exposing my bare flesh, and crawled onto the bed. He leaned down to line his cock head with my entrance. Oh, goddess, he was really going to do this. Before he shoved himself inside me, he stilled and sniffed the air as his eyes widened in rage. “Not yours.” I gritted out.
“Who?” he was shaking and roaring, figuring out someone had me so shortly ago that his spend was still inside of me. I moved my lips, acting as if I was whispering. “Who?” I moved my lips again. He brought his ear down to my mouth to listen.
“I said, I fucked your brother.” His hand immediately went around my throat. In the silence, I heard the door open and footsteps running. He planned on whispering some threat in my ear, but it was too late. I heard the bells ring out, and my wolf was waiting. On the first strike, I shifted. The angle had my muzzle at his neck, and without hesitation, I ripped, clawed, and didn’t stop until I felt my body coated in metallic hot liquid. His heart quit beating, and I immediately shifted back.
When I opened my eyes, Sawyer was there staring at me. He fumbled with words as he checked every inch of my body. We were nearly lost in holding each other as the bells continued to ring. “What do we do with the body?” I whispered. I’d been screaming in pain, and no one noticed or cared, and goddess help Sawyer he couldn’t move because of the command. But somehow, he broke through. Now that my captor was dead, I was quiet. I was scared.
“We leave it. They will all know soon enough. You saw me disappear. I can carry you, but it will drain me. If I get us outside to a waiting truck, can you drive to the river?”
“To the river? What’s there?”
“The Fae, we will seek asylum. We have too much Fae magic between us. They know something. Aurora, I don’t know how long it will be before I pass out, but we are heading to a beat-up green truck. It won’t stick out on the road. Can you drive? When you get there, you will see trees perfectly lining the bank, but then there is a spot where it looks like two are missing. That’s their door. You run and ask for help. If they will take me great, if not you go, and stay safe. You have faerie magic, and I was blessed by one of their gods. This is the only escape I can see.”
“I’ll do it. But you are going with me. I’m not leaving you behind. We are one, Sawyer. I’m yours, and you are mine.” The final bell rang, and we heard voices.
“Green truck. Drive to the river. Now my mate.” He grabbed me by the waist and held me tight. It was as if we were a dark shadow. We quickly passed everyone as they rushed into the room where Archer’s body laid, and mine was gone. I heard the screaming of our names, but it was like whispers in the wind. With a deep breath, we were next to a truck parked on the side of the highway. Slamming into the passenger door, Sawyer went down. I quickly opened his door and shoved his body inside. Running to the driver’s side, I turned on the engine, kept the lights off, and began to drive.
I knew the place he was talking about. I’d seen it from my window. I’d gone there when my mother died. I knew the place, and I had a feeling they owed me a debt. If my mother died in their river and was innocent of no crime, they should have stopped it. The river was theirs. It had always been their territory. They gave Sawyer magic, and I’d never understood my own. As I drove, I kept my eye on the road and him. He was out cold. We needed safety, shelter, and a place to come up with a plan. Sawyer realized it before I did. He broke the command because his mate was in true danger. Archer’s hand went around my throat, becoming a threat to my life, and that broke the last bit of hold that the Alpha had.
I was his true goddess gifted mate, and we were going to find a way out of this together.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I stopped the truck in the pretty little park that surrounded that special area of the river. Still wearing practically nothing but blood, I pulled Sawyer out and dragged him with both hands to the opening between the trees. It looked completely normal. Letting one hand free, I remembered the sign for revealing and made it with my hand.
Right in front of my face was a beautiful light blue Faerie in a party dress and heels, with her arms crossed and a smile. “I wasn’t expecting that Aurora, but I’d heard things.”
“Please help us. We seek asylum. He’s my mate, and our families tried...”
She patted me on the shoulder, “It’s alright, I know. We know. Your love and bond are sacred.” She whistled, and two huge green men came from the shadows and effortlessly lifted Sawyer. “Come, time is different inside. You need to rest before holding court with Mummy and Daddy. But don’t worry about any of that now. Just come with me.” I thanked every deity I could think of as I followed the helpful stranger into a dark blue tunnel. I couldn’t believe what awaited on the other side. No one that I had ever heard of had been to the land of the Fae.
I know!! You are going to scream at me for stopping here!!! More is to come! I'm so excited to write about this next section.

Sawyer Winnowing had never been that instinctual. I was surprised. I only wished I could take us far away. I was trying to calculate where we could go and how far I could carry her in the back of my mind. At most, if I could get us out of the hotel and into the truck, I stashed by the highway, but she’d have to take over. I don’t know how long I’d be out carrying her with me. It seems we both can do a little faerie magic, but it shouldn’t be possible. I dressed in the shadows as I stood in the entryway outside the girls’ new room. I was solid by the time my father and brother came walking by. Not even stopping to talk, father yelled, “Is it true?” before they marched into Aurora’s room.&n
Aurora Sawyer stared at me like he wasn’t sure if he should fall at my feet and worship me or have me committed. “I need to be flustered and delirious. And that’s exactly what you made me feel. This time, you bite me. You claim my flesh and let me feel the burn.” Holding up the white dress, I smiled. “This ridiculous thing covers every inch of my skin. No one will see the mark until Archer pries this dress off me. Then I’m going to fight him. He won’t expect it.” “He gets sloppy when he rages. I hate putting you in this position. When he smells your arousal, he will barely be able to hold it together.” “It’s going to happen whether we like it or not, please, give me what I need. They will expect your scent around me since you’ve been my guard tonight, so they won’t pay close attention as to where it is.” I gave a wicked smile that I didn’t know I was capable of. “I can’t deny you, my princess.” “Thank the goddess.” In a blink, h
Aurora“Those bastards plan to marry you off, have you and Archer consummate the union, and then let your wolf run in the hope of a quicker conception. They have the whole thing planned down to the second. Unbelievable.” Sawyer was barely containing his wolf.“I don’t want his child. I don’t want him.” I gave in to tears as I threw my arms around him. My friends rushed to where we were.“Oh, my,” I heard one of them squeak out. “Aurora, what are you doing?” Mona seemed horrified. We were looking around, “I’m don’t even want to know how this happened, but we need to get out of sight. I’m sure someone will come to check on us so quickly to the rooms.”“This is a bit of a complication,” Mrs. Drake said with a tiny smile. “Hurry up, children.”I couldn’t walk. Sawyer picked me up and carried me to the bridal suite where a high collare
Sawyer It was nearly eight when Aurora and her friends arrived, and I saw them through the upstairs window. Despite her smile, tension radiated through her body. She knew. My family came an hour ago. We circulated among the guests who had been ordered to arrive by seven. Everyone seemed to be in shock that the Hawthornes were there to celebrate Aurora Crane. We receded to our private wing before the birthday girl arrived. The spacious hotel rooms made Wonderland very accommodating for its guests. Everyone seemed uncomfortable. Aurora fiddled with her key as two of her friends helped carry her dress out of the limo. I knew she hated it, but she did look beautiful. I touched my suited shoulder in remembrance of the early hours I spent with her. The mark was nearly healed when I dressed, but it didn’t matter. I knew it was there.
Aurora I was surprised when I made it down to the entry to see my father, my friends, and Mrs. Drake standing next to one of two limos. All but my father looked pale and sick. He smiled brightly at me. “My beautiful daughter. It is time. Tonight you will prove your worth and honor your family. You will honor your people.” He began to place the crystal keys over our necks. They guaranteed safe passage. The elite were the few that wore their keys en route to the Wonderland anymore since most didn’t fear for their safety as we did. We would leave them there before we departed the palace. All other guests would receive theirs upon entry. “Oh, please don’t do whatever it is. I’ve been a good daughter. Please don’t
