A man walked in. His face was covered in scars and cut up in several places. It was hard to recognize any facial features.

“He is one of the witnesses who are helping us trace down our missing warriors.” Alessio sat down next to me on the bed, “his name is Mateo.”

The man was large in size, maybe six feet tall, but not too healthy or too thin. He looked like an average person but wore expensive clothes.

“Thank you for saving me.” I said meekly. I did not know why but I could not look at him. It was not because of his scarred face. It was something else that I could not put my finger on.

Mateo silently nodded his head. His head down, staring at the ground in a submissive manner.

“Please go downstairs. You will find my beta Daniel in the hall.” Alessio said to Mateo, “I will definitely repay your debt for saving my mate.”

Mateo bowed his head down in respect and walked out of the room.

Alessio turned to me, his hand lifting up to caress the side of my face, “Never do that to me again
