Chapter 10

Taylor

            The police had been crawling all over the office and our houses for almost two weeks now. We had to spin a story of a jealous ex-husband hiring someone to kill me. As a favor for not letting his wife leave him high and dry, the chief of police ordered twenty-four hour surveillance for me. Yesterday he called to tell me the threat was no longer present so I should be fine. The surveillance had been a blessing as well as a curse. Aaron was forced to comply with the restraining order I had against him, but I might as well have had one against Isaac too. It was funny how I’d spent the last seven years of my life completely engulfed in Aaron, but it was Isaac I missed. Technically, I’d only spent a few hours with him. Well, technically, I should hate him. And technically, only a bottle of wine would solve these nagging problems. I locked my office and headed downstairs.<
