Nathan

“Don’t do this,” Zade glowered, but I didn’t listen. I just kept walking.

“Listen to me, Nathan. You are an Alpha, you don’t make deals with low-life demons.”

Still, I didn’t respond. I just kept walking.

Zade was right. I shouldn’t be here, but I was desperate.

The closer I got, it felt like I was betraying everyone—my pack, my mate, even myself. I’d lost patience in the Moon Goddess. I had to take things into my hands. The night was foggy, the smell of smoke filled the alleyway. Even if it wasn’t permanent, it was something and I was willing to take the risk.

I stopped when I saw the demon staring at me from afar, cloaked in black, face covered. He didn’t move as I approached.

“I can’t believe you actually came, Alpha Nathan,” the voice rasped. It was male.

“I didn’t come here to banter words,” I said firmly. “You said you could help me.”

He tilted his head. “What you’re asking for is possible, Alpha. But you have to remember—nothing comes without a price, and this is going t

NathanElizabeth was everywhere. Her scent, her voice—it was just too much. Her fingers traced down my jaw as she kissed me, but all I could think about was the woman seated on the other side of my office—what would she be thinking?Even with Elizabeth in my arms, all I saw was Kaima’s face. The way she had looked at me earlier that day, concerned when she saw me stumble just slightly. Elizabeth was my mate, yet all I wanted to do was push her off.Kaima was living rent-free in my head at this point, and anytime I tried to push her out, she found a way back in.Elizabeth moved her mouth from my neck and back to my lips, deepening the kiss—desperate and claiming, trying to make me respond. But I couldn’t, even if I wanted to—I just couldn't. Not with Kaima across from me.Her hands moved under my shirt, scraping my skin, trying to make me excited, but there was nothing. No heat, no… nothing. Just emptiness. She is your mate. I told myself over and over again, but it didn’t change anythi

Elizabeth The phone buzzed on my dressing table loud enough to distract the quiet of my room. I didn’t need to check to know who always called by this hour.I sighed and answered, “Mother.”“Elizabeth,” her voice snapped through the phone. “Do you know how long I’ve been trying to reach you? Are you intentionally ignoring my calls?”I rolled my eyes even though she couldn’t see me. “I’d never do such a thing, Mother. I’ve just been busy.”“Busy?” she hissed. “You sound ridiculous. Tell me, has he marked you yet?” she asked, desperation dripping from her voice. My stomach twisted. I stared at myself in the mirror, my hair perfectly curled, my lips painted red. My hands moved to where he’d mark me.“No,” I said softly, lying through my teeth.“What the hell do you mean by, no?” There was a long, dangerous pause, then her voice rose again. “You already have him exactly where you want him. Just give the damn command. Why the hell are you wasting time, Elizabeth? You know how important it

ElizabethThe morning sunlight came in through the window. The Parkhouse was quite peaceful. I let out a breath of ease, my life felt perfect, blissful.I was Luna, the mate to Nathan. I still couldn't believe it happened; it still somehow felt like a dream.Everything here belonged to me—servants, cars, money even as small as the tile on the floor, it was all mine.Everything was finally how it was supposed to be.“Maria,” I said, my voice snapping through the quiet room. The maid, young, timid, probably no older than twenty froze halfway across the room. She clutched the tray in her hands so tightly I could hear the faint clink of the teacup shaking against the saucer.“I told you to warm the tea, not boil it,” I hissed elegantly, rising from the couch. “Or is basic command far too complicated for you to understand?”“I—I’m sorry, ma’am,” she stammered, lowering her gaze. “I’ll fix it right away.”“Ma’am?” I asked, walking towards her, my heels clicking on the floor. “You don't call

NicholaiThe room was dark, and the only light that came in was from the city lights shining through the window, the smell of sweat filling the air. Every single time my knuckles landed on the punching bag, I saw her face, her eyes were worse; she was terrified, right before I lost control. The sound of the bag snapping against the chains filled the room.Again.Again.Until I stopped feeling my hands.“Damn it!” I roared, slamming my hands into the wall next to the punching bag. The wall cracked immediately. I didn’t care as the pain shot through my body. I deserved it.“Nicholai.”Her voice froze me.I didn’t turn. I couldn’t.“You’ve been down here for hours.”“You shouldn’t be here,” I managed to say in a tough voice.“Nicholai, you’re hurting yourself.”“Better me than you,” I said harshly, finally looking at my reflection in the shattered mirror. My eyes looked darker, hair a complete mess. “You shouldn’t have come. Just go... please. I don’t want to hurt you.”“I do not care,”

KaimaThe packhouse still smelled the same. I didn’t want to admit it, but I’d actually missed this place and I missed the pack too, so much.I told myself I wasn’t nervous as I climbed the stairs to Nathan’s office, but that didn’t even sound convincing to my own ears. He’d asked to see me, and my heart kept skipping a beat. It was just business, I repeated to myself an unhealthy amount of times. When I reached the door, I paused, dragging in a deep breath before knocking.“Come in,” his voice came, deep and controlled as always.I stepped inside, and he was seated behind his desk, the afternoon light coming in through the window. When my eyes met his, it felt like he had the ability to make me stop breathing, those eyes, those beautiful eyes. What the hell, get your shit together, Kaima, I said to myself.“Kaima,” he said, his voice low but firm. “You came.”I nodded, giving a polite smile. “You asked me to,” I said awkwardly.“Sit,” he said, gesturing to the chair in front of his d

Kaima“Are you sure you want to do this?” Nicholai asked, circling me like prey. I was breathing heavily, the sound echoed through the penthouse training room.“You’re supposed to hit me, not dance with me.”I rolled my eyes, trying to adjust my stance. “I’m trying to hit you; it’s just that you’re too annoyingly fast.”The sunlight accentuated his facial features, the way his hair fell across his forehead when he moved and goddess help me, he was so damn handsome. Fast wasn’t even the word, I was expecting something more fitting.“Okay, fine,” I said, tightening my grip on the sword. “You’re fast, infuriating, and cocky. Better?”“Much,” he said, that devastating smirk pulling at his lips.He lunged forward toward me, the movement so accurate it was like watching water flow. I managed to block his hits before he twisted my wrist, disarming me effortlessly. My weapon fell to the ground.“Not fair,” I panted, stepping back, breathing heavily. He picked up my sword with one hand, spinne
