The smell and feeling of fresh air welcome Aminah as she steps out of the car. Her grandmother from her mother's side immediately embraces her, she looks so delighted while Aminah seems like someone died. Well, her hope actually died the moment her father turned her back and decided to believe rumors, lies, and fake news. She no longer feels that her existence is significant to him ever since she remarries. She doesn’t mind it at first because her priority is his father's happiness but this incident made her realize that she isn’t the priority of her father. He already has a family to care for and she becomes the outsider.
Her father looks apologetic while she’s arranging her things but he doesn’t even utter any words, till they fix her paper for the transferee. She looks around at the school. It's wide, the clear sky is visible, and the gate is welcoming and refreshing. Compared to urban schools where there are a lot of buildings and it’s hard to breathe as even the school entrance emits a competition and expectation vibe. Aminah is forcing herself that this school is better than her old school. It's the weekend and there are only a few people inside, some staff is cleaning, and some are playing baseball in a wide area.
Everything is settled now and all she has to do is to go to school next week. On their way to her new home, his father finally spoke to her.
“Your grandmother has disabilities but your cousins and auntie here take care of her, they communicate to her through sign language. You must learn that in order to talk to her, your grandmother is old and you're her only grandchild to her youngest child. So, she wants to be with you, you haven't been with your grandma for a long time”
She just keeps her mouth shut and lets her father speak, things that her father didn’t even do. Letting her speak, she’s tired of asking him to listen anyway.
“You have to make sure to get along with them, be obedient, and don’t do anything that can ruin your reputation. Stay here until everything is settled at our house, calm your auntie’s anger first before you come back home”
Our house? Home? I doubt it.
Aminah locks herself in the room that was given to her, she doesn’t do anything wrong, she felt unfair and cried nonstop till she felt like she can no longer cry. In the first week, she doesn’t talk to anyone, even her cousins, and relatives that visit. It was awkward for her to start a conversation as she hadn't talked to them for a long time.
A month later after coming back to school with bruises, messy hair, and dirty clothes, her grandmother suddenly hit her using a broom. She indeed cried hard; she didn't understand at first why she cried because the hit was not that even hard. But she finally understands as her tears can’t keep on falling. She cries like a kid as all that she’s storing in her heart suddenly bursts; her new school, her new family, and she’s physically and emotionally tired. All the pain she tried to hide finally burst into tears. Looking at her grandma trying to say something to lecture her but can’t even utter a word she felt bad. She just saw herself embracing it and looked back at the days her grandmother tried to get along with her. She’s annoyed at everything but feels sorry. She then embraced her tightly and cried a sincere cry.
“Why are you being mean to me?” Aminah frankly asks Bram when she saw him sitting inside the room alone. She noticed how he become mean to her since the news about her and Osman spread, well she’s not close to him even before but she felt that they are about to get to know each other before but this incident just made Bram indifferent. Aminah often notices that he deliberately knocks over her table, sometimes even though she already move to the other side so she wouldn't bump on him, he still purposely gets near to her just to bump her intentionally. Bram looked at her for a second, she thought that she’ll receive a response but Bram just rolled his eyes and continued reading his notes. Her eyes divert from what he’s reading and notice that it’s turned upside down, Aminah felt annoyed as she wants to hear an explanation from him, yet he’s ignoring her.Aminah then started, “I don’t know what I’ve done wrong to you but at least when someone wants to know what they did you should comm
“Ahhh stop it, let go of me” “I’m not going to let go of your hair, you liar” “What did I ever do to you?” “Stop acting innocent, I’m gonna rip your heads off” Aminah and Angel were trying to stop their Aunt Gena as soon as she heard the news that has been circulating for three days now in their school and even in their neighborhood. This rush of Aunt Gena would not have happened if she had not been filled with negative gossip that she has been hearing which is ruining the reputation of her niece Aminah. “Aunt” “Mom that’s enough please” “Don’t stop me now, move!” Aunt Gena is still furious and infuriating to pull Mrs. Sara's hair, who is now on the floor with her hair and clothes a mess. Aminah was so shocked to witness how her aunt becomes a different person as she shows how infuriated she is. People from Area Quatro were just hanging around like they were watching an interesting movie about the fight between the two. No one tries to intervene with them apart from Aminah a
Aunt Gena was delighted that they'd been able to fill all of the Tupperware they'd packed when they were approached and handed the bag full of dishes by the woman names, Anabelle."Thank you very much, Anabelle.""Don't worry, although I'm not used to you leaving so early.""If nothing happens, we'll definitely stay till midnight.""We're so worried about those two, why didn't you let them rest here and relax for a while?""The nurse had already accommodated them and informed us that they only needed to rest. We don't want to trouble you any longer; you already have a full plate.""You didn't even take their compensation for their health check."Ms. Anabelle continued to try to hand over the money in an envelope, but Aunt Gena refused to take it. Aminah remained silent as they drove back home, thinking about what happened in the room with Bram; she couldn't help but flush as she remembered how they looked at each other. It's similar to how she felt when he was adjusting her lens last
Sunday morning when Aminah notice how unusually busy everyone in the house was. Her Aunt was dressing the twins, Uncle Gener was already dressed and repairing something in his tricycle, and Angel was packing a large bag with Tupperware. They all appear to be heading to a family picnic, which piqued Aminah's curiosity."What's the deal with this?" Aminah peeked inside the bag at the stacked Tupperware Angel was preparing."Tupperware," Angel said cynically before continuing her work."I know, but what is it for? Are you planning another family trip? ”"What do you mean a family trip? My father works at Cecilia's Paradise, so we're heading there. They were celebrating the 17th anniversary of the resort.""Cecilia's paradise?" Why is this necessary then? " Aminah asked again, puzzled by the number of containers on the bag."It's a dish container since several dishes will be put inside later. For sure it’s like a feast there just like last year and packing some food is essential. It wi
In the backseat of a car, two individuals are exchanging wild kisses and hugs. The woman wrapped her arms around the man's neck, passionately kissing him, whereas the man caressed the woman's hair while sitting on his lap. This is what happened after Ren explained to Angel why he had left without saying goodbye. Angel initially refused to listen, but after just one touch from Ren, she surrendered and forgot the resentment she had harbored for years.“I miss you” She looked at Ren affectionately while evident in her eyes the excitement she have for the young man; she had waited a long time and hoped he would return. After all, her beloved has returned, yet she is completely ignorant of his real motive.Ren simply smiled at what the girl was doing and placed his hand on her waist as she grinds against him. She started moving her hip slowly, has been breathing heavily, and her eyes were already burning. Her lustful expression made him laugh on the inside because Angel hasn't changed in
Aminah was inside the police station, she was sitting on the corner after giving her statement about the incident. Since her encounter with Nonoy doesn’t have any special to do with its case they just allow her to leave and wait on the side cause someone will bring her home. The provincial office was too busy; people are too occupied answering endless calls, they were restless, and operating all she can hear is it was all about Nonoy. As she was observing the crowded office she saw the man that introduce himself as a police officer in a civilian black hoodie who had just come in. He was following the officer in his uniform and they seem to have a quarrel since they were talking loudly.“I’ve allowed you to become a stool pigeon and tell me his whereabouts, not to run after him”“He’s a criminal now, a person of interest, and already in front of me. What do you expect me to do? Just let him wander”“You know that what you did is dangerous and I’ve to remind you that a person is always
