Mistaken Identity

Where is this dog?”

He raised his hand to the bartender, tending the bar on the third floor to let him know that that he needed to step out.

The man covered in a tattoo of dragons nodded his head in Eon’s direction.

“We have him in the basement?”

“The basement of Luna? My Luna?” He asked with clenched teeth. His eyes have a murderous glint that Ehann hasn’t seen for a while now. His knees shook with the intensity of Eon’s eyes.

He may have abandoned his pack and left their world behind, but he is still an Alpha. Nothing could change that. And Eon doesn’t like ‘stray dogs’ poaching his territory. Especially here in his beloved Luna.

“We have no choice but to put him in the basement. We don’t want to catch unwanted attention.” Ehann's voice trembles, explaining his decision to have the man snipping around to be temporarily put within the building.

He knew that Eon protects Luna, keeping it clean from any illegal dealings with all his might. A wolf snipping around the place is essentially asking for its own death.

“He said something that might interest you,” he tried to explain further. But Eon remained quiet and pressed his thumb on the electronic pad, blinking on the wall at the foot of the grand staircase leading up to his penthouse on the fourth floor.

Ehann, seeing that Eon has no plan to speak, keeps his mouth shut. If Eon found his decision unwise later after talking to the wolf who was trying to get in the building, he had no choice but to accept whatever punishment he would give him.

He followed Eon inside the elevator. He pressed some number combination on the panel number of the elevator floor and a loud thud was heard inside the elevator.

The elevator ride from the third floor to the basement didn’t take that long. The elevator quietly opened and they stepped out to a room painted in black.

This room can’t be seen from the private parking lot of the building where Eon keeps his collection of expensive cars from all car manufacturers all over the world.

“You stink differently from that man behind you,” said the man in his early twenties who was tied up in a chair in the middle of the room, with two muscled men guarding him.

“Leave!” Eon ordered the two guards on duty.

“Take everyone with you,” Ehann reminded the two guards.

An unpleasant fear stained the man's eyes as he tried to rattle the chair he was tied in. He was rattling the chair because he wanted to get away from the man that just arrived. He felt danger crawling on his skin the moment the man entered the room.

One moment he was rattling the chair he was strapped on, next he found his back plastered on the cold, dusty floor. He groaned in pain and whimpered in fear.

The newly arrived man kicked the chair and broke it into pieces, freeing him. But he has no plan to run away. He knew in his guts that this man was not someone he can run away from.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean any harm!” He raised his arms in the air and kneel on the floor, begging for mercy.

Eon walked casually up to the cocky man who was now begging for his life.

“Sorry! I am sorry!” he scooted to the far end of the room. “I am just looking for a woman!” he screamed, crossing his arms in front of his face. He was shielding himself from Eon’s gaze.

"And what does Luna have to do with this woman?" Ehann asked since he knew Eon wouldn't ask the question.

“She said her name is Luna!”

Eon growled at the man who was already sitting at the far end of the room, leaning against the wall with his knees drawn to his chest. He was visibly shaking in fear.

"Better tell the truth before he rips out your guts and turns them into wall art."

“I-I have nothing to tell! Please, spare me!”

“What is your name?”

“Frio.”

Ehann was surprised to hear Eon asked for the man’s name. He never expected him to be interested in this lowly Omega in front of them. He growled at the man named Frio but Eon raised his palm to stop him.

Eon stopped associating himself with any wolf since he left the pack right after the death of Elara. And that was six years ago!

“And where did you meet this woman named Luna?”

The man shivered as Eon stood over him. Having a member of his kind snoop around his property doesn't sit well with him. However, there was something about this man that he was trying to hide, and it was not the woman he was searching for.

“At a bar! I met her two days ago over at Lux!”

Lux club is just another club like Luna. If you look at it from the outside, that is. Unlike Luna, that club has a lot of shady activities going on. After all, it was owned by the Russian mafia. In the paper, ownership of the Lux is held by a British man named Brentford Windsor.

Eon had the man checked out. He’s clean. Although the Russian is a different story.

“Do you want us to waste the whole night here? Or are you going to tell us everything you know about this girl?” Ehann snarled at the man.

“I- I find her interesting. She was talking to the big guy over there in the Lux…”

Eon looked at the man who couldn't finish his story because he was trembling so much.

“Ehann put Mr. Frio in one of our industrial freezers in the sub-basement since his name suggests he likes the cold.”

“No — no, please! Don’t do that!” he crawled on the dusty floor in a poor attempt to grab Eon’s leg.

But Ehann kicked him in the face. “Then talk, you filthy dog!”

“That Russian guy over the Lux is just like us. He claimed he's an Alpha but that Luna woman was sitting on his lap, but he had no idea that she was a She-wolf!” he blurted as fast as he could for he doesn’t want to be sent to a basement freezer.

“Interesting,” Eon scoffed and grabbed Frio's neck and slammed him on the concrete wall. “And what does a lowly wolf like you know about such things, huh?” he asked in a murderous tone.
