Rakesh's Wish

Stepping further into the crystal caves, I could tell something was off about this place. It had been centuries since my father and I had come here, but there should have been no reason for it to change when it was the spot where the spirits were always at their strongest. Physically, it looked the same, but I sensed something was wrong.

This place should have been as immortal and unchanging as we Gods. Yet beyond the beauty of the crystals and the awe we all felt, the place seemed almost lifeless. As though barely any spirits remained here, giving life to the surrounding area. I could tell none of the others could sense what I could. Even immortals are not as in tune with the spirits as I am.

As we make our way closer to the cave's centre, I get a better look at the larger crystal. As I expected, most of it looks dull compared to how I remembered it used to be. It still shines and glows, but not as brilliant as it once did.
