RONAN:

It felt good that I finally told him. It's true, I blamed myself for leaving that night, but when I saw my father come out of his room, my heart stopped and I could feel my stomach churn in extreme discomfort.

I wanted to go to him, but I couldn't bring myself to. I locked myself in my room for weeks.

He held my hand when he reassured me that nothing happened and boy was I glad. I released a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Well, you can release that guilt of yours, because nothing happened. Thanks to you."

Tentatively, I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him back. I felt him snuggle closer.

'He fits perfectly in my arms.'

Eventually, we pulled away but our hands remained entwined as we resumed our trek through the forest. I was inordinately pleased Zannicus even remained close to me.

"Are you really not going to tell me where we're going??" He asked with a little smile.

I turned to him with a smile of my own, "A little impatient are we?"
