6: Crazy Emotions

Mikayla faces me with a stern expression when we hear the front door close.

“Why did you do that?” She asks, crossing her arms over her chest.

I cock a brow at her, huffing out a breath at a loss for words.

I didn't understand what she meant with that question.

“What do you mean ‘what did you do that’?”

I can see Sasha shaking her head from my peripheral view but I don’t give her my full attention. Staring at Mikayla instead, who is still watching me with that same expression.

It pisses me off for some reason.

“That was our last hope of seeing the guy, speaking to him.” She says, speaking slowly like she was explaining to a child.

“I’m still waiting for you to make your point.”

The words come out harsher than intended. But I still don’t feel the need to take them back.

They had clearly let him into the apartment and let him come to my room— I opened the door for him, but that isn’t my point.

What if he had been a murderer or an obsessed stalker who wanted to rape and kill me?
