Chapter 63

I blinked my eyes rapidly and averted my gaze from our hands on the door handle to her face. What the hell was Lola doing?

"Uhm, since he's not your Tristan, you wouldn't mind me sitting here right?" She gave me a tight lipped smile and I hastily drew back my hand.

"No, I don't mind." I held my hand to my chest and mustered a faint smile.

"What's holding you guys up?" Tristan asked from behind the steering, stretching his neck to see what we were doing.

"Nothing," Lola said.

She pulled the car open and hopped into it. I stood with my mouth ajar and my hands still interlocked on my chest. I blinked once, twice and thrice before the sound of Lola chuckling brought me back to reality.

Slowly, I got into the back seat and closed my mouth.

"Shall we?" He asked and Lola agreed, acting too happy for my liking.

He turned the ignition and the car came alive. The wheels moved and a weird feeling sat in my heart.
