Chapter 02

Sammy walks across the back parking lot of Thompson's while heading to her old, beat up pickup truck she refers to as "Chucky" . Just as Sammy is unlocking the door to her truck, out of the corner of her eye, she catches a glimpse of something bright in the sky. She quickly looks to the sky for a better look just in time to notice a quick flash darting across the horizon. The light appeared just as quick as it was gone, so Sammy was unable to actually ascertain what she had just seen other than some sort of weird light in the sky that seemed to blueish in color.

Sammy quickly thinks to herself as she opens her truck door.... "What in the hell was that, a shooting star? Maybe I should make a wish then?" Sammy thinks a few more seconds and decides to go ahead and make a wish.

"Hey, what can it hurt, right?" Sammy says to herself, closes her eyes and continues "Here goes, I wish to make it out of Rigley one day and travel the world... I know there's so much more to see!" Sammy finishes her wish and quickly shrugs it off thinking she was being childish. She finishes climbing into the cab of her truck, puts her seatbelt on, and cranks it up. Sammy puts the truck in gear and starts the short 2 minute commute over to "The Blind Cowboy".

"Chucky" may be just an old clunker, but to Sammy it's her world. She has had this truck ever since she turned 16 her Sophmore year of high school. Her parents surprised her on her 16th birthday shortly after she got her license that day. Her parents knew exactly what she wanted due to Sammy dropping hints about it for the previous 6 months and she wasn't exactly nonchalant about them either! Sammy would purposely leave magazines with pickup trucks on the cover out where she knew her dad would see them. She even took a giant poster board and wrote "Sammy's Sweet 16 Birthday Wishes" in big, bright pink letters across the top and of it. Of course in the center, she plastered a huge picture of an old Chevy pickup truck with multi colored arrows coming from all different directions, but still pointing directly at the photo to signify that's what she wanted!

Growing up on the farm, Sammy's grandfather, Timothy "Pops" Jacobs, used to come over often to help out with the daily chores, but the whole family knew it was just an excuse for him to see his only grandchild Sammy. When Pops would come over to help out , he would allways give Sammy rides in his truck across the pastures to look at the animals. As Sammy started to get a little older,he would even let her sit in his lap, take the wheel, and drive on occassion. These are some of Sammy's most memorable moments of her life and even keeps a photo of her and Pops driving the truck in her driver side visor. If Sammy is ever feeling down about missing Pops, she just flips her visor down and it brings a smile to her face.

For as long as Sammy could remember, everywhere Pops drove, you would catch him in his Two-Tone: Red and White, 1970 Chevy C10 pickup truck. Even when Sammy was young, the truck was still beat up back then and was missing more paint than it had left. Just by taking one glace at the truck, anyone could tell the truck and probably it's owner alike had seen their fair share of hard work over the years. Regardless of what the truck looked like, Sammy has always loved the truck for so many reasons, but especially because of the amazing memories of Pops it brings back.

Sadly, Pops had died when Sammy was 14 due to natural causes and after his passing the truck had been passed down to Sammy's father or at least she thought! Sammy's dad had his own truck that had quite a bit bigger of a bed which helped out on the farm and it was more economical on gas too. With that in mind, he only drove the old pickup from time to time on the property when he needed an extra vehicle for larger jobs. He mostly kept the old pickup stored in the garage, but made sure to do all the upkeep on it so it would continue to run perfect.

When Pops passed away, he had actually left Sammy the truck in his will along with a notation stating that if Sammy "was under 16 at the time of his passing, then she would receive it upon her 16th birthday, otherwise the truck would go directly to her." Sammy's parents talked it over and decided not to tell Sammy about the truck and keep it a surprise for the time being since her 16th birthday was less than 2 years away. So for almost 2 years, Sammy never knew the truck was actually hers and she really didn't give it much thoughtt etiher, because it kept her happy just knowing the truck was still in the family! Deep down though, Sammy always secretly, and eventually not so secretly, hoped her dad would give it to her on her Sweet 16, hence the hints with the magazines and poster board.

When Sammy got her learner's permit the next year, the only vehicle she wanted to drive was that old pickup truck and eventually even took her driving test in it too! Shortly after getting her license, her family celebrated and Sammy blew out the candles on her cake. The whole family knew exactly what she had wished for! Although Sammy knew there was no way for her to wish Pops back, the next best thing was his truck that she had so desparately wanted. At this time, Sammy's parents finally told Sammy the truth about the will and that the truck was officially hers! Since Sammy's parents weren't the ones "technically" gifting the truck to her, they of course got her a few other things that they knew she wanted on top of a prepaid card covering her gas for the next year.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two minutes later and Sammy is parking her truck in the back lot of the "BC"... She does a quick makeup check in the mirror to to make sure thinking about Pops didn't mess it up too bad, hops out and makes her way to the main entrance of the "BC".

"Hey Sam, How you doin' tonight?" from a jolly voice is heard from Joe, the usual bouncer and door guy at the "BC". Joe has been working at "BC" on the weekends for over 10 years now. He's in his early 40's at this point, but he is still a big, mean looking guy that stands over 6 foot 5 inches tall, and easily weighing more than 300 pounds. As usual, Joe can typically be seen with a cigarette hanging out of the corner of his mouth with more ash hanging off the end of it than it has left to burn. Even though Joe is a scary, mean looking dude, Sammy has known Joe almost her whole life since he's good friends with her parents, so she knows at heart, he is really a giant teddy bear!

"Hey Joe! I'm good, hope you are!?... There a cover tonight?" Sammy answers smiling as she reaches over, giving Joe a sort of halfway hug so she doesn't knock the ash hanging off his cigarette all over her

"I'm good Sam... Yeah, $5 bucks gets ya in tonight. Sorry, we gotta pay for your 1st place winnings somehow, don't we?" Joe responds back while giving her a half smile, but also trying not to let anyone else see him doing it!

Sammy giggles some and responds back "It's no problem.. and hey, I don't win every time!"

Sammy grabs a five dollar bill from her pocket and hands it over to Joe and says "here ya go hun" and follows up by asking "Decent crowd tonight?"

"Ahh about the usual, you know how it is. Have fun." Joe answers back as he opens the door for Sammy

"Thanks Joe!" Sammy fires back as she walks through the doorway of the "BC".

The "Blind Cowboy" is a smaller, square dance bar that's actually shaped more like a rectangle on the inside, but it"s pretty wide open on the inside. Just through the doorway to the left is where you can find "Bully" on his stoop at all times, so Sammy always gives him a pat on the head when she walks through the door and tonight is no exception. The front and back walls of the "BC" are definitely the shorter sides, with the bar itself running just about the whole length of the back wall. It's a pretty big bar and is probably 30 or 40 feet long easily.

As usual for the weekend, the bar is staffed with 3 bartenders slinging drinks and a couple of bar backs filling ice, washing glasses, and whatever else the bartenders may need. Across the room from the bar, near the front entrance, is a small, maybe 20 foot stage where local artists play live music on the weekends. This Friday night is no different and up on stage are some locals, "The Rigley Boys". They're a country group of course consisting of 4 buddies who typically play here once or twice a month playing a lot of covers and few original songs, but hey they're actually pretty good! In between the stage and the bar is a decent sized dance floor that houses a decent sized crowd tonight.

Along the wal between the stage and bar, you'll find hightop tables and chairs occupied by smaller groups and the same thing across the bar on the opposite wall, with the exception of a set of double doors that leads to an additonal outdoor area. The outdoor area is closed off to the public and only accessible from the "BC" and is even mostly covered for those rainy days. Theres even a few picnic tables that sit on top of a concrete slab where people go to hang out, but it's mostly used as a smoking area.

"Hey Sam, you made it!" Sammy hears as she turns her head to see her friends Kate and Jenny rushing over towards her with smiles on their faces. They excitedly both hug Sammy to greet her as if they haven't seen her in forever, knowing full well they all see each other about every day.

"Come on Sam, You just got off work, we need to get you a drink, like ASAP!" Kate intently says to Sammy as they start to giggle and make their way towards the bar with Jenny.

"Hey ladies, what can I get for ya tonight?" Brian one of the usual bartenders at "BC" asks the ladies

"Hey Brian, Can I get a Vodka and Soda with 2 limes, please?" Sammy responds quickly and looks over to Kate and Jenny and asks them with a smile on her face, "Shots girls?"

"You know it!" Kate responds almost imeediately after Sammy asks

"Of course, I'm in too!" Jenny also answers her as all three of them start to giggle yet again and then Sammy quickly asks: "Can we get 3 shots of Tequilla too Brian" and follows up with "Oh and can you put it all on my tab please!"

"Sure thing Sam, just a minute." Brian fires back quickly as he starts to make the drinks

"I heard that you and Luke were talking at Thompson's earlier and you two looked awfully cozy together again!" Kate says to Sammy in a teasing manner as to not give away her true agenda. Kate takes a sip of her drink and stares at Sammy intently to see how she responds, because she herself has a big crush on Luke, but doesn't quite know how to feel about it due to all the history involved.

"REALLY? You two weren't even over there tonight! I'm assuming Dumb and Dumber?" Sammy asks as Kate and Jenny look at each other and start giiggling as Kate blurts outs "You'd assume right!" knowing full well shes talking about Jimmy and Steve who gossip more than a group of high school girls.

"And REALLY? Come on Kate!! You and Jenny of all people know it's not even like that" Sammy responds seriously to them.

"Then, what is it like?" Kate asks her seriously as she looks on to Sammy waiting for a legitimate response.

"Well, he did bring up us dating again, but I told him that we are better being friends." Sammy answers back seriously as she holds her hands up and shakes her head slightly as if gesturing the word no.

"Oh okay, well that's probably for the best though right?" Kate responds back with a shy smile on her face trying to hide her racing heart beat from her friends.

"Uh huh..Yeah" Jenny mumbles out in a teasing way knowing full well that Kate has had the hots for Luke for a few months now.

"Yeah, it's for the better...Deep down I don't even think he really wants to date me again.. I think he's just a little lonely and he's looking for something familiar... and Kate I really don't care if you like Luke.. I really don't! You two should go for it!" Sammy answers back seriously. "I even told Luke the same thing earlier, well not the lonely part"

"Huh, I do- don't know what you're talkin' about." Kate stutters slightly as if it's some big secret that she's developing feelings for Luke.

"Mhmm, Mhmm" Sammy and Jenny both mutter as they look at each other and start to laugh

"Here ya go ladies!" Brian interrupts the conversation at the pefect time giving Kate a sense of relief as he sets their drinks down on the bar.

"Thanks Brian." Sammy says as she passes the shot glasses to Jenny and Kate. The girls have a "Going Out Ritual" where they do a toast before their first drink together as a group whenever they go out. If there's only 2 of them there, then all bets are off and they can still drink, but as soon as all 3 of them link up, their ritual is in full effect! They take turns with who does the toast each time. It's a silly little thing they do so they don't jinx their night out. It's kind of like when people in the food industry clink their glasses together and then down on to the bar before they take the shot.

"It's my turn, right?" Sammy asks Jenny and Kate with a smile on her face.

"You know it!" Jenny responds almost immediately

"Hhmm, let me see." Sammy mumbles out loud "OK... When I want it, I want it AWFULLY bad.... And when I don't get it, It makes me very MAD.... And when I do get it, it makes me feel like the Greek Goddess Athena,...Now don't get me wrong,... So take your head out the GUTTER, It's not about SEX, I'm talking about TEQUILLA!...Cheers ladies" Sammy finishes up as they all clink their glasses together and down their shots.

Kate wipes the corner of her mouth and says "Where do you come up with these damn toasts?"

"Haha. I'm just good like that I guess." Sammy responds back while giggling and not wanting to admit that she saw the toast on one of those "TubeYou" videos last week.

All of of a sudden over the speakers in the bar is heard: "CAN I GET YOUR ATTENTION! THE MECHANICAL BULL CONTEST IS GOING TO BE STARTING IN ABOUT 20 MINUTES! WINNER GETS A $500 CASH PRIZE TONIGHT!"

"Sam, you gotta sign up for the contest tonight!" Sammy hears coming from behind her. She turns to see Luke walking up smiling alongside Jimmy and Steve. "You ride "Bully" better than anyone else in town, you got this!" Luke states seriously to Sammy.

"I just got here.. I'm only a shot in..I'm going to need another drink or 3 before I get up on "Bully!" Sammy answers back slightly nervously. She's not nervous about actually rididng "Bully", she knows that once she gets up on "Bully" all eyes will be on her and she's never liked being the center of attention... So she has a tendency to need some liquid courage to get her in the right "mindset" before the big performance.

"In that case... Hey Brian.. Can we get a round of shots on me?" Luke asks Brian as he's walking by.

"Sure thing bud". Brian responds back as he looks to the group and quickly counts and asks "how many.. 6?"

"Yessir, Tequilla please!" Luke answers back to him knowing the girls shot of choice.

"Sam, no one has beaten your time on "Bully" in what, 2 years? Easy money!" Jimmy says to Sammy and their friends

Steve interrupts and says "I mean she has lost a few times though" and quickly receives an elbow in his side from Luke and says "What? It's the truth, ain't it?"

"Yeah man, we know.. Those couple times Sam didn't win were flukes and we all know it!" Luke quickly responds coming to Sammy's defense.

"You know there's never a guarantee, but it is a nice way to earn some extra cash!" Sammy rebuttals back with a smile on her face and follows up by looking at Jimmy and Steve and saying "So, I heard you two GOSSIP GIRLZ were at it again tonight?"

Jimmy and Steve look to each other with their hands up as if to signal "WHO, ME?", followed up with a high five to one another, then look back at Sammy and both say in unison "SOOORRYY" as if to drag it out slightly like a child in trouble would.

Sammy shakes her head and turns back to the girls to hear Jenny following up in a teasing manner, "Yeah it really is a nice way to earn some extra money!!, Hell of a lot easier than working a stripper pole!"

"Hey, we all can't be as skillful as you when it comes to the pole!" Sammy immediately fires back at Jenny as the girls all laugh together again.

"So you're not gonna do it?" Kate asks Sammy questionably

"Duh, Of course I am!" Sammy responds with a smile on her face as she starts to giggle

"Here ya'll go!" Brian exclaims as he sets the round of shots down on the bartop

Luke passes out the shots and as they all hold up their shot glasses, he exlaims, "Here's to Sammy staying on "Bully" for more than 8 seconds!" Some slight cheers are heard as they all clink their glasses together and down their shots

"10 MINUTES TO GO UNTIL THE BULL RIDING CONTEST! IF YOU HAVEN'T SIGNED UP YET, THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE! 10 MINUTES TO GO EVERYONE! Everyone overhears from the announcer on stage.

Sammy walks over to the table next to "Bully" to go ahead and enter the contest before the cutoff. Including Sammy, there's 10 total contestants. The object of the contest is to stay on the bull for at least 8 seconds and have the best form while doing it. While that may not seem like a long time, the mechanical bull bucks juat as hard as a real one does, and they adjust the settings on it for the contests. Over the last two years, Sammy has won this bull riding contest many times with all different variations in the cash prize amount. Every time she wins, she puts the cash she gets aside in a special place to save up for her dream vacation to the Caribbean.

A short time later and the contest is about to begin.

The contest announcer gains everyones attention when they hear: "ALRIGHTY EVERYONE.... $500 DOLLAR CASH PRIZE TO THE WINNER TONIGHT! IT'S THE BIGGEST WE'VE HAD YET! YA'LL KNOW THE DEAL... BEST RIDE WINS!!.!! ---CAN I GET CLINTON TO THE BULL?"

Clinton is a tall lanky guy in his late 20's. He walks across the dance floor and in to the bull pen where he hops onto "Bully" with ease. They start up the bull and not even 3 seconds later Clinton is laying face first on the safety padding.

"OOOOHH..Face Plant! That can't feel good." Jimmy says to the group of friends as they all continue to have a laugh at Clinton's expense.

"2.6 SECONDS! THAT MAY BE A NEW RECORD HERE! HEY, AT LEAST YOU'RE IN 1ST PLACE!...CAN I GET JENNIFER TO THE BULL NEXT?" the contest organizer announces as most of the bar continues to laugh as Clinton stands up and walks out of the bull pen, still stumbling slightly.

"Oh, Jennifer's here tonight? I didn't know that.. She's so good.. She's my biggest competiton probably!" Sammy says to Kate and Jenny slightly nervously.

"Yeah, she is good.. but you're so much better.. Don't worry Sam.. you got this girl!" Jenny responds back in a reassuring manner

"Liquid Courage" Luke says to Sammy as he hands her another shot of Tequilla out of nowhere.

"Thanks Luke..I may need it" Sammy says with a smile on her face and quickly takes the shot hoping to ease any lingering nervousness.

As Sammy finishes her shot, Jennifer is climbing on the bull and is about to get started. Jennifer is a "BC" regular and is in her early 40's. She grew up on a ranch and has been riding most of her life just like Sammy has. The bull starts up and Jennifer holds on tight as the bull bucks back and forth each time with more and more power until she is finally bucked off just before the buzzer.

"7.6 SECONDS... WE HAVE A NEW LEADER! SORRY CLINTON..THOUGHT YOU HAD IT TONIGHT BUD!" the announcer chuckles as he continues on "CAN WE GET ALEXA TO THE PEN NEXT?

"That's such a good time!" Sammy states the knowing to her friends

"Even so, how many times have you stayed on "Bully" for the full 8 seconds during these things?" Kate states reassuringly

Alexa and the next 6 contestants all take their turns and not one of them has a time of over 7 seconds. Sammy is going to be the last of the contestants to go tonight. All she has to do is stay on "Bully" for longer than 7.6 seconds and she is $500 richer.

"ALRIGHTY THEN.. JENNIFER IS STILL IN THR LEAD WITH 7.6 SECONDS.. WE HAVE ONE LAST CONTESTANT TO GO..YA'LL KNOW WHO SHE IS!! CAN I GET SAMMY TO THE BULL? PEN?" the contest organizer exclaims to the crowd as all of the patrons begin to cheer.

"Let's go Sammy! You got this!" Sammy can hear coming from behind her from her friends and other bar patrons as she walks into the pen that houses "Bully".

Sammy climbs up on to "Bully" with ease like she has done many times before and gets herself situated.

"You ready hun?" the bull operator asks Sammy as she gets her grip in a comfortable position.

"Yes ma'am, whenever you are." Sammy responds back to her and takes a deep breath as she starts to hear "Alrighty... 3 - 2 - 1 - GO" from the operator counting down and quickly followed by it's "Go Time!"

The mechanical bull takes off like a bullet and starts to buck one way, then another..Sammy grips her thighs tightly on either side of "Bully" helping her stay in position as she holds on tight with her left hand under the rope while her right arm is high in the air as she stays balanced. As the bull bucks back and forth, Sammy stays in rythm with "Bully" as she grinds across his back smoothly over and over ease, all while in return probably turning on half the guys in the bar unintentionally.

Before she knows it, Sammy hears a loud "DING" and the bull begins to slow down and stop with Sammy still sitting atop "Bully" comfortabley!

"A PERFECT RIDE...8 SECONDS" the contest organizer announces ""SHE JUST WON HERSELF 500 BUCKS!"

Sammy hops off "Bully" with a bigger smile on her face than usual and quickly runs back over to her friends and hugs Kate and Jenny with excitement.

"Guess we know who's buying the next round?" Jimmy says to the group as he catches a light elbow into his side from Luke

"OWW..What?" Jimmy says as he rubs his side "She just racked up!"

"Congratulations"..."Great Job"..."You're so good".. all can be heard coming from many patrons in the bar over the next couple minutes.

A short time later, the hype starts to wear down, so Sammy grabs Kate and Jenny by their arms with a slightly embarrased smile on her face and whispers to them "Hey, I need to talk to you two, come on." as she gently tugs on them while leading them to a more secluded area of the bar. Jenny and Kate both go with ease knowing full well it involves "Girl Talk".

Sammy, Kate, and Jenny have all been best friends since they were in grade school. The girls have all grown up together and have always been there for each other no matter the seriousness or simplicity of the situation. While Sammy and her friends may all be gorgeous in their own rights, they grew up in the South, spending more time out in the woods than a lot of the guys. They all know that when you're out in a deer stand in the middle of nowhere, it doesn't seem to matter if you're a male or female because when you're in the woods, everyone gets treated the same. Needless to say, they may all look like "girly girls", but they're also still tougher than nails, if, and when they need to be! They have literally gone through everyting with each other, from their first boyfriends, to their Prom, and even losing their virginities to name a few, so the word "Secret" isn't a word in their vocabulary unless they're keeping it as a group together!

Once they stop walking Kate quickly asks Sammy inquisitively "Alright, What's going on Sam? You're acting a little weird, even for you!"

Sammy begins to blush slightly as she timidly begins to say "You know the deal, this stays between us!!"

Kate and Jenny both istaneously respond by saying "Of course" and "Always" and Jenny follows up by asking "What's going on Sammy?"

Sammy takes a quick glance around to make sure none of the guys are lingering nearby and eavesdropping and ebarassingly begins to explain, "Well, ya'll know I've ridden "Bully" more times than I count.. but tonight was different!"

Sammy blushes even more and continues on "When he was bucking back and forth I had my thighs clinched around him like I always do to help me stay on..but the motion he was making tonight made me grind on him with a lot more, umm pressure than I normally do!"

"You didn't, did you?" Jenny interrupts before Sammy can finish her story having a pretty good idea of where the story is going to end. "Is that the reason you had that ridiculous smile plastered across your face? I know you won, but geez that was big even for you?"

Sammy begins to smile a little larger and finishes her story by saying, "Yeah, I kinda did! I couldn't help it! It's been so long and the way he was moving tonight.. It just felt..AMAZING!. I can't believe I had an orgasm in 8 seconds and in front of everyone!!!!"

The girls all giggle together which is a common occurence as Kate says "Same thing happend to me last year when I was horseback riding, remember? Guess it's a little different since you just had an "O" in front of what, 150 people?"

"Oh, shut up!" Sammy fires back teasingly "You know I like an audience!"

The ladies talk for another minute or two and decide to go and find the guys before they overhear something they shouldn't. They quickly find them over at a pair of high top tables pulled together where the group all spend the remainder of their night hanging out and talking. As the night coninues on, it's closing time before they know it, so they all close out their tabs and then head to the parking lot to go to their respective vehicles.

"So much for it not being a late night for me!" Sammy thinks to herself briefly and then says outloud to Kate and Jenny who are riding together "Drive safe.. Text me when you get home.. and hey, lips sealed!"

"Always! At least until I open em'!" Jenny responds back with a wink followed by "We'll text you when we get back!"

Sammy turns away to walk to her truck as she thinks to herself "I can't believe "Bully" did that to me tonight and in front of everybody! Guess it's been way too long for me?" Sammy quickly makes it to her truck, climbs in, and cranks up her pickup truck. As the truck starts up, the radio comes on to the local classic rock station and is playing one of her all time favorites; "Take the Money and Run" by Steve Miller.

She puts her truck in reverse and thinks to herself while backing out her spot, "How convenient?" and quickly laughs out loud "I can't believe I won 500 bucks tonight!" she contunues to think as she turns out of "BC" and starts her short 13 minute or so drive home (depending on if she gets stuck at either one of the towns 2 stoplights) to the outskirts of town to her family's ranch.

As she drives through the downtown area of Rigley, Sammy passes Mama Mia's, Thompson's, and all of the other closed businesses, she can't help but to think "this place looks like a ghost town at night." Just as Sammy completes her thought, she is quickly interrupted by a deafening, static type noise emulating from her speakers that is going up and down in tone. The noise is loud and so abnormal, Sammy has to quickly reach over and turn off the radio because she starts to feel nauseous. Sammy quickly thinks to herself, "What in the world was that?" when her thought is interrupted by yet another flash of light in the sky, much like earlier in the night.

This time though, Sammy is able to focus on the light a little more clearly than before, and is able to tell that it looks very similar to the one from earlier.. At least from what she could recall from the short glimpse she did get. Earlier, the light was there and gone within an instant, looking like a flash in the sky. But this time, it seems to be more of a bright, ball shaped object traveling much more slowly through the sky. Just as Sammy finishes contemplating the speed, the ball shaped object accelerates to a great speed, and darts across the horizon as it seems to transform into a brighter blueish color. As Sammy watches on intently, she can't help to notice that is's not even going in a straight line and seems to change directions almost as if at will until it fades off into the horizon.

Sammy starts to think to herself "What in the hell was that?... Earlier, I could've sworn it was a shooting star, but this...this is something different!...Maybe a satellite? But satellites don't move like that, do they?" Sammy quickly finishes the thought as she tries to shrug it off thinking maybe it was just the alcohol and continues on with her drive home.

Most of the people in Rigley make their living off of having a working Cattle ranch that produces beef, milk, eggs, and other products to Rigley and the surrounding cities. Once you pass through the downtown area, it becomes more and more desolate as the only thing you can see other than what her old Chevy's high beams light up... which isn't a whole lot.... Is the dimly lit ranches off in the distant every so often. With being this far out in the country and with Rigley being a small town, you're not going to find any street lights out this far. So, Sammy has to rely on the lights from her pickup as she knows to take it slower on these back roads due to deer.

As Sammy drives along on this still warm September night, she can't help but glance up towards the sky and think to herself "Wow, the stars are so bright tonight.. And that full moon is amazing!" Sammy continues on, "I don't think I can ever remember a night where the sky was so clear and so bright. The stars are so beautiful tonight!"

Sammy continues along on her drive, with only about 5 minutes to go before she makes it to her familys farm entrance, when she is interrupted by that deafening static tone again. Sammy quickly thinks to herself, "I never turned the radio back on, What the hell?" as she attempts to turn it on and back off with no luck. The noise is so deafening that Sammy has to pull her truck over and turn it off just to get the noise to stop.

Sammy steps out of her truck to get some fresh air, thinking to herself again, "What is going on tonight?" She looks out at the beautiful sky again to only notice a sudden change directly ahead of her. "What was that?" she says out loud to herself this time in an almost whisper, "What the hell is going on tonight?"

Sammy focuses her concentration on the sky where she had just seen this abnormal light for a third time tonight, to see a pinpoint blue light off in the distant. As she continues to look on, the light starts growing in size and brightness to look more like the ball shaped object she saw a short time ago. The more she looks on, she begins to realize that "Even a satallite doesn't move like that...Nothing does! But what could it be?" she thinks

It continues to bounce across the sky with ease in multiple different directions as if were the ball from the game PONG, all while covering large distances across the sky with unfathomable speed within a millisecond.

Earlier tonight, Sammy had only managed to see a quick burst of light before it would disappear without her being able to make out any other details. However, at this point the light has been clearly visible in the sky for at least 30 seconds straight and the lighti is continuing to grow in size and brightness. A few seconds ago the light was jumping from one spot in the sky to another, but for the last few seconds the ball shaped light seems to taking a more straightened path towards Sammy!

As it becomes nearer and nearer to her. Sammy thinks puzzedly "What? How is it moving like that?...and why is it coming towards me?" Shortly after finishing her thought, Sammy is startled by hearing the now familiar static type tone emulating from her truck. Sammy starts to tremble in fear as she glances down to see her trucks keys still tightly in her hand!

Sammy quickly looks back up to the brightness of the blue light within a few feet of "Chucky" now. The brightness of the light has grown tremendously within the last few seconds and has quickly become blinding to the point that sammy has to close her eyes to avoid the blinding light. The light is so bright, that even with her eyes tightly closed, Sammy begins to feel nauseous to the point that her head also begins to hurt immensely. The pain level is as if she was just hit with a baseball bat and has now began to make her dizzy. Within another couple seconds, Sammy ultimately succumbs to the increasing sensation of pain due to the brightness of this odd blue light eventually causing her to black out.
