"Run as fast as you can because if we catch you, you're coming with us." I heard one of the rogues sneer as he chased after me.
I ran as fast as my legs could but it felt like it wasn't enough. “They can't catch up with me. I can't escape my former life just to end up in the hands of rouges. I've been hiding pretty well for a year, hiding my scent. How did they find me?” I thought to myself. "We can do whatever we want with her." Another one laughed out loud. "It feels so good to see a rogue that's a girl. I can smell she's not from any park. What a good find!" "We're all rogues, we don't have to run from each other. You're just a lone wolf wandering around. Join us and you'll be safe." Another one chimed in. I tried to block out their conversation as I ran faster. I tried so hard to change into my wolf, but it wasn't working. "Please, please. I need you!" I spoke to her mentally, but nothing happened. I felt sharp thorns cutting my face and legs, causing me pain. I could see a boundary ahead of me. It was a park's boundary. Ever since I escaped from my park, I had two rules. The first was to avoid rouges at all costs and the second was not to trespass into another park's territory. It was like life was playing a joke on me. I had two choices. I stop, and the rogues catch me and do whatever they want to me, or I enter another park's territory and they probably kill me because I'm a rogue and a trespasser. At this point, I'd do anything to avoid being in the hands of the filthy rouges chasing after me and the only way I could get them off my back was to enter the park's territory. I pushed myself and jumped into the boundary, collapsing on the floor, struggling to catch my breath. I was so weak and I just wanted to be over with the chase. But to my surprise, the rogues crossed the boundary with me. “Are you all out of your mind? Do you know what you all just did?” I yelled out, frustrated and angry. “It is a crime to enter another park's territory, and you're playing with your lives”. The three men cackled. “You think we would really let you go? If you decide to jump off a cliff, we'll jump after you.” “We've had our eyes on you for a very long long time and it's finally time to have you.” “The Alpha of this park is going to have our heads if you don't leave immediately.” I replied, fear evident in my voice. The rogues weren't leaving without me but I'd rather die than go with them. One of them was about to speak when a loud, deafening growl filled the air, making me shiver. We all looked around in confusion and fear and when I realized the rouges weren't watching, I quickly hid behind a tree but as unlucky as I have always been, I slipped, hit my head on a stone and passed out. I woke up to the sound of grunts and screams. A body landed by my side and I tried not to scream as I looked at the face. Half of it was ripped out and I could see claw marks on the chest. I pushed myself up and hid behind the tree, hiding and watching what was happening. I recognised one of the rogues getting torn apart. “They were so dumb to follow me into the park's territory? Why were they so determined to catch me?" I muttered to myself. “You think you could enter my park and go scott-free?" A cold voice sneered. “You made a wrong mistake setting your feet in here.” It said as it held the neck of the rouge before twisting and removing it. I could see his wolf starting to come out, but he controlled it. Half of his face was still human but his hands had turned to claws. I looked away, scared. I just witnessed the death of someone in the most gory way. I clenched my fists together as I tried to stop myself from throwing up. “I think we got them all, Alpha." Another voice said. I could tell the voices apart because the first sounded more powerful and it made sense, he was the Alpha. I leaned back on the tree, taking deep breaths, trying not to get noticed when a scent like no other filled my nose. It was a citrus and earthy scent. I felt my wolf stir inside me, something that had not happened in a very long time. I took in a deep breath again, the scent filling my nose, making me smile. “Logan? Can you hear me? We killed all the rouges. We have to return back to the park for the meeting." “Wait. I can smell something." Someone's out there. Alpha Logan said, sniffing. "You know how much I hate rogues. I will not leave until I kill the very last one." He growled out. I could feel my heart beating fast, he could smell me. He knows I'm a rogue and he'll kill me just like he killed the others. I was scared. Thoughts of how he snapped one of the rogue's necks played in my head and I shook my head trying to push it away. If I should run, it won't take him seconds to catch me and finish me. "What should I do, moon goddess help me." I muttered. “I know you're out there." The voice said, so deep and husky making me feel butterflies in my stomach. “By the count of three, if you don't come out, you'll regret it." Fear got the better part of me and I stood up and ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction. I didn't want to die just like that. If I was going to die, I'd put up a fight.I've not run for a minute when a hand grabbed me by my neck from behind, making my head snap back. I screamed in pain, my head fuzzy. That was when I felt it, the sparks. I could feel electricity on the part of my neck he was holding. It felt amazing and made my toes curl. I hit his hand and I jolted from the sparks. The scent I smelt earlier surrounded me strongly and I could feel my wolf going crazy inside me, trying to come out. My hands pricked as I tried to stop him from choking me. I struggled to open my eyes and the moment I saw his face, I let out a gasp. He had curly long hair that was styled in a stylish way. His face looked like it was carved by angels and his cold gray eyes stared at me with no emotion. He was very handsome. My wolf was trying to communicate with me, but since it had been so long since she spoke with me, I couldn't hear her well. After so many trials of trying to connect with me. I heard it, it was very faint, but I heard it. "Mate." My wolf whispered.
I could feel my heart break into pieces as I heard the words come out if his mouth. My mate just rejected me. I looked into his blank eyes as he let go of me and I just crumbled on the floor, My wolf howling in pain. “What…What did you just do?” I cried out, placing my hands on my chest, breathing heavily. He smirked as he looked at me. “I told you, I'd rather let you wish for death than kill you. You will die from the pain of having no mate and it will be slow and agonizing.” “How could you be so evil? The moon goddess didn't make us mates for no reason. You should have just killed me!” I screamed out. “Sulking and shouting won't fix anything. Now stand up, we need to leave.” He replied, looking bored and uninterested in whatever I was saying. “What do you mean by we should leave? Haven't you done enough? I'm not going anywhere with you.” I said, hugging my legs to my chest, sniffing. “You really think I reject you and just let you go?” He laughed coldly. “You might not be o
“How dare you speak back to me! You filthy rouge. Don't you know what you are in this park? You're nothing and you're about to live your worst life ever here. You're going to die and I'll make sure it's by my hands.” I smirked, spitting out the blood that was forming in my mouth and glared at her, not backing down. She got more furious and growled at me, claws coming out of her fingers, ready to attack me when Logan grabbed her by her waist, nuzzling his nose in her neck. “Calm down Valerie, you don't need to get angry because of a bitch like her.” “You need to punish her, Logan. Did you see the way she looked at me? I'm sure she plans to do something evil to me later. I don't like her and I want you to kill her immediately, right now!” Valerie whined. I rolled my eyes as I watched them, disgust evident on my face. Logan looked up at me, angrily his eyes changing colors. He growled and stalked towards me. “How dare you disrespect my mate and Luna of my park? He yelled, making
“What do you mean by that? What mistake did I make by coming here? How do you even know my name?” I asked, curious, confused and disturbed. “How did you get in here? Show your face, you coward.” I said, trying to act stronger that I look.I stared at the man squatting in front of me, trying to figure him out but I couldn’t. His voice sounded familiar but I couldn’t place where I heard it from. “You’re in no position to ask me questions, rogue. You came here at the wrong time and if you think you can ruin my years of hard work, you’re wrong. I’ll kill you before then.” This park is no place for you to be and if you think you can have the alpha as your mate, you are very wrong. Rogues are to be killed and soon, you will be!” He said, his hands tightening around the cage bars with rage. “Can you just explain yourself better? I have no idea what you’re talking about and how did you know we’re mates? Who exactly are you and—?” I didn’t complete my statement before he was away in a
The moongoddess hates me. I know that now. Right from when I started to suffer in my last pack, to this very moment of being caught after trying to escape. She hates me. I'm weak, with no wolf. I can't fight to save my life and my mate doesn't want me. The plan was to start a new life entirely, forgetting about Logan, but that can't happen anymore. I groaned as I tried to push the body off me, but it felt like I was trying to lift a heavy rock, it was impossible. I could feel my body get hot and electricity zap through my body. The tip of my fingers were left with a tingling sensation. I had been caught by Logan. He got off me in a flash, and took a few steps away from me and I got up fast on my feet, about to run again when I crashed onto a hard wall. I stepped back and looked back to see what stopped me from running when I saw that it was Logan and the hard walk was his toned body. His hair was wet and disheveled and I could tell that he just had his bath. His eyes were black,
I laid on the floor in my cage, weak and tired from crying so much. I put the maid in danger and Logan didn't hesitate to deal with her. He whipped her for over an hour and at some point, he forced me to watch her. He didn't stop until she was unconscious. I closed my eyes tightly and the picture of her battered body flashed in my mind. Logan had thrown me back in the cage and told me he'd be back. I sniffed and sat down, trying to clear my head. A mate is supposed to be your special someone, who you share a connection with. I always wished to find my mate and I daydream of how he would treat me, love me and cherish me but I got a monster who rejected me. I was about to fall asleep when I heard two voices talking. I could tell one was Logan because I could sense him. The other person was a female and from the scent, I could tell it wasn't Valerie. I scooted closer to the entrance of the cage so that I could hear them well. "How could you lock her up, Logan? She's your mate!" Th
The next morning, I woke up feeling hungry. My stomach growled all through the night, so as soon as I woke up, I brushed my teeth and left the room in search of food. I walked around for a while, getting lost in the castle, but it wasn’t for long because I was able to find the kitchen. I opened it to find different servants bustling and working, looking serious. None of them looked approachable and I was about to leave when a voice stopped me. "Why are you leaving? Aren't you here to get something to eat?" I looked back to check the owner of the voice to see that is was a male who looked like he was around my age or younger. I smiled and nodded my head slowly. "Come on in." He said, smiling and I followed him back into the kitchen. He brought out some slices of bread, lettuce, tomatoes and onions and started to make me a sandwich. I liked my lips and my stomach growled out, making me bow my head in embarrassment. "That wasn't my stomach." I squeaked out. "Yeah, it sure wasn't."
Before I could blink, I was up against the wall with Logan’s hand wrapped around my neck. He wasn't squeezing it yet, but he applied pressure enough to make me gasp for breath. "What did I tell you about how to speak?" He growled at me. "What gave you the right to speak to your future Luna like that!?""I saw her flirting with one of the male servants in the kitchen instead of coming to my room to help me with things that I had planned for the day. You had to see how she was all over the servant." Valerie tutted. Logan growled loudly, scaring me. I could feel the anger rolling off him through the mate bond and the pressure on my neck was getting tighter. I brought up my hand and put it on his, gently, looking deep into his eyes. "Calm down, Logan." I whispered and I saw something flicker in his eyes but it was gone as soon as I saw it. Logan growled out angrily again before releasing me and running out. "You're lucky he didn't break your neck this time but I promise you, that the
“Why stress that little head of yours trying to figure things out?” the man said, folding his arms across his chest, his biceps bulging beneath his shirt. “Just ask. I’m right here. Ready to explain anything you want to know.”I blinked and shook my head, trying to focus. Trying to stop staring at him like some starstruck fool.Get it together, Lily.“Who are you?” I asked, voice firmer now. “And how do you know me?”He smiled. Then, with slow, confident steps, he backed away like he was preparing for something dramatic. And when he spoke, his voice echoed with power.“I am the Lycan King. The Alpha of Alphas. The one no one dares to cross without paying the price. The protector of those who call out in need.”I stared at him, stunned. The Lycan King? No. It couldn’t be.There were many Alphas across the world. Dozens of packs. But only one Lycan King. One ruler above all others. And he was standing right in front of me.No wonder Logan couldn’t match him. No wonder the Alpha tone did
Bodies. That was all I saw when I stepped outside. Logan’s soldiers were scattered across the ground, limbs twisted at unnatural angles, their eyes wide open in death or shock, I couldn’t tell. A cold chill ran through me as I scanned the bloodied bodies, my heart racing as I searched for him.Logan.Damn this mate bond. Even after everything, my heart still reached out for him, aching with worry I didn’t want to feel. I moved through the bodies, hoping someone could explain what the hell was going on.Then I turned a corner… and froze. He stood there.A man I had never seen before, standing tall and deadly in front of a bloodied and injured Logan. My breath caught. He was… beautiful. Beautiful and terrifying. His eyes were mismatched. One a piercing icy blue, the other burning red like fire. And his body. God, it was like stone. Muscles thicker than Logan’s, veins visible, and tattoos etched into every inch of exposed skin.He wore a black singlet and combat trousers, his arms loose
Valerie looked like she was thinking it over for a moment, her eyes narrowing.“Why should I let you escape,” she said coldly, “when I can just kill you and make sure no one ever finds out?”She took a step closer, voice low and cruel.“I want Logan all to myself. I don’t like the idea of you being out there, alive. If you’re dead, that’s better for me. I wouldn’t have to worry about you returning while having some silly ideas in your head, thinking you have Logan back. ”I stared back, trying to stay calm.“You have my word,” I said quietly. “I’ll never come back. Not after how I’ve been treated. Logan already made it clear in so many ways that we can’t be together and also, I won’t beg anyone who has rejected me. I won’t stay where I’m not wanted—”Before I could finish, a loud horn blasted through the air and the sound shook the walls, loud enough to make the windows rattle. I froze, confused. What the hell was that?I turned back to Valerie but her face had gone pale, white as sn
Logan gave me one last glare before storming out of the room. For a second, I thought he’d come at me, hit me, grab me, or just do something. But he didn’t. He just walked out, fists clenched, jaw tight.Guess I hurt his pride. And I loved it. I tried to hold back a smile, but it was almost impossible. I was still aching from what just happened, but I pushed the pain to the back of my mind. This wasn’t the time to dwell on it.Then I remembered. I wasn’t alone.Valerie was still in the room with me. And she was pissed. She hadn’t liked how things played out. Not one bit. And now, I was the perfect target for her anger. Worst part? I was chained up, and there was no one here to stop her. I was at her mercy. She didn’t waste time. She dropped to the ground and crawled toward me, her claws out, eyes wild with rage. I scooted back fast, barely dodging the swipe aimed at my face. It was so close. She let out a snarl and lunged again, but this time I raised my leg and kicked her hard.
My wolf howled inside me, scratching at my insides, begging to be let out. Her pain was sharp, raw, and unbearable. But I didn’t let her out. I built a wall and forced her down.Valerie was nearly half-naked now, panting and moaning as Logan trailed soft kisses down her neck and across her chest. He wasn’t doing this out of passion, he was doing it to break me and it was working. But I wouldn’t let him see that.I cleared my throat, sharp and loud enough to cut through their moment.“You really should work on your moaning, Valerie,” I said dryly. “You sound ridiculous. Which explains why Logan Isn't even hard for you. I mean, are you sure you’re actually sexually appealing to him?”Logan’s growl ripped through the room, deafening and deadly. I quickly covered my ears, feeling the full force of his rage behind it. It was a warning. A loud one.He wanted me to shut up but I wasn’t done yet. It takes two to play.“Easy, tiger,” I said, my voice sharp as I stared at him. “You know I’m not
I was conscious, but I couldn’t move. No matter how hard I tried, my body wouldn’t respond. Even my wolf was silent, still and unresponsive.I felt everything, though. I knew when we reached the pack grounds. I knew when Logan carried me into his quarters, then into his room. I felt the cold bite of heavy chains as he tied me to his bedpost. Typical Logan. This was exactly what he did the last time before I escaped.I also heard the door slam shut as he left. For a while, I just laid there, completely still. I didn’t think about anything. My mind was blank and numb. I didn’t know how long I stayed like that before I eventually drifted off to sleep.I jolted awake to the sound of voices. Loud, angry , and close.I blinked and looked around, confused at first. The voices were coming from across the room. Logan and Valerie were arguing. I closed my eyes again, shaking my head before shifting into a more comfortable position. The fuzziness in my head was gone. I didn’t feel dizzy anymore
“Shift!” Logan barked, his voice full of command and my wolf obeyed instantly.“Why did you do that?” I snapped at her, angry that she gave in so easily. But she only whimpered in response.I rolled my eyes at her weakness, but I couldn’t blame her. She was still trying to heal and still learning how to live with being rejected.“Let go of me!” I snapped at Logan. He had stopped choking me, but his hand was still wrapped around my neck, holding me up like I weighed nothing. It was uncomfortable, painful even, and I needed him to let me down.“You do nothing without my permission,” he growled, his eyes burning with fury. “You are mine! I own you, and you will obey every order I give you!”“I’m not yours!” I screamed back, my voice filled with rage. “Stop being delusional, you fucking freak! We’re not mates anymore! You rejected me or you can’t remember? It’s over. Your mate is back at your pack, so go run to her and leave me the hell alone!”Spit flew from my mouth as I shouted, every
I didn’t waste a second. My legs moved before my mind could catch up, and I bolted. I didn’t know what my wolf saw or what might have triggered her sudden urgencybut I didn’t question it. I just ran. This had become a vicious cycle, all too familiar. How many times would I keep running from the same person? When would it finally end? When do I get to stop escaping and start living? I was tired, tired of running, tired of being hunted, tired of having nowhere to call home. I just wanted peace. A place of my own. A moment to breathe. Then, bam.A body slammed into mine, and I skidded across the ground. But I caught myself before falling flat, thanks to my wolf. She was getting stronger again and faster. More alert too. “Thank you.” I whispered in my mind and kept going.I turned back briefly, and my breath caught in my throat. Logan.“Where the hell do you think you’re going?” he growled, muscles flexing, eyes wild.I blinked at him, genuinely confused. “Are you okay? Do you have amn
“You are a disgrace.” Logan spat, his voice loud and cold. “A misfit to all wolves. “This,” he gestured toward me in disgust, “is a sign for me to start the rejection process fully.”My wolf froze.“You’ll feel the bond fade little by little.” he continued, disgust dripping from every word. “You’ll live in agony, in torment, every single day. And I hope it drives you insane. I hope it kills you. You are a mistake of a mate, and you’ll always be.”Then he turned away.He walked to Valerie, gently helping her up and pulling her close to his side. She looked weak and pale, her body covered in cuts, and her neck healing slowly.“Valerie will be my mate,” he shouted, locking eyes with my wolf again. “She will be the Luna of this pack. By the next full moon, we’ll be fully mated.”My wolf whimpered and paced inside my mind. She was spiraling, overwhelmed with emotions that I couldn’t control. I tried to reach out to her, to calm her down but she wouldn’t let me in.She dropped her head and
