"What the hell happened here?" Asked James Walker to his partner Doneld Crane.
"There was a shoot out." Doneld answered. "I can see that. But what caused it?" James asked an other question.Doneld nodded to one of the dead bodies on the floor and said "it looks like a disagreement between a dealer and his clients.""The shoot out took place behind a conventional store at mid-night. The clients are Toby and Kiel. These guys have been in and out of jail for the past couple of years for petty theft and drug abuse. The dealer on the other hand works for a drug over lord the DEA has been hunting for years now. Kanzel."As the chief explained every agent started murmuring when they heard the name "kanzel" "How is that possible?" James asked "no one have seen or heard anything from Kanzel in seven years. How can we be sure that the dealer works for him?""Ya" his partner continued "some even say he died in the explosion."The chief frowned and looked at the two who just spoke. "Well, Kanzels body was never found so there is no reason for us to think he's really dead. But whether he is dead or alive, this case can't be closed until we find the supplier. The dealer had almost ten grand in his car so it means who ever the supplier is, they have been around a long time without the DEA being aware of them. So i am giving this case to James and Doneld. Find me the supplier." The chief commanded and carried on with the meeting. After the meeting was done, James and Doneld collected the case files and went over to their desks. "Do you really think that Kanzel is alive?" Doneld asked James.James sighed "maybe, maybe not. There is only one way to find out."They looked through the files of the dealer. His name is steve more, nick name slick deal was thirysix years old. From his pictures, you can tell that he not just a dealer but also a user of the drugs he sold from how bony and thin he was. The file didn't say much, only that he was an only child with parents dead at a young age. "If his parents died when he was ten, then he would be processed in to the system right?" James asked Donald. Donald nodded his head to this partners' comment. James continued as he filps the papers in his hands "but there is nothing that says about him being adopted or being processed in to the system. And from what we know about Knazel..." Donald finished his sentence. " most of his dealer were orphans and homeless children."They looked at eachother. "We need to go through every file on Kanzels' case, see if this guy pops up anywhere."They didn't need to look too far. They just looked into the last case about Kanzel seven years ago and there he was. The dealer had been caught many time but always finds his way out. He was also at the house where Kanzel was last expected before the explosion. Now that they were sure he was Kanzels man, they were going to do every thing in their power to catch the so called drug over lord and put an end to him once and for all.
As they were going through the case file of the dealer, they found out that he works at a store just a few blocks away from the shoot out. That was going to be their next move. They made their way to the store and it turns out that the store was a flower shop.
"Why the hell would a drug dealer work at a flower shop?" Asked Doneld to his partner. "Maybe this was supposed to be how he laid low for all those years." Answered James and walked in to the shop. When the owner saw them walk in, she walked closer. "Welcome, gentlemen. How can i help you?"They whipped out their badges "DEA. I'm agent walker this is my partner agent crane. We're here to ask you a few questions about your employee Steve More." The lady seemed confused "I am sorry. But i don't have a worker by the name Steve."They looked at eachother confused. Doneld took out a picture of the dealer and showed it to the lady. She looked at the photo and nodded."That is Toby. He does work here but he didn't come today. I can give you a call when he comes by." Said the lady. "That won't be necessary. He's dead."The lady looked shocked. "Why? How did he die?" She asked. "That is what we come here to find out. We will be on our way after we ask you some questions." Said Doneld. The lady nodded as well. "How long has he worked here?" James asked. "About six years." She answered. "Does he have any relatives or people that would come by to see him." He asked another question. "Was there anything suspision you noticed on him?" Doneld asked. The lady shook her head. She was no help. "Thank you for your time." Said James and walked away. When they were walking out, Doneld looked at a pot full of white roses amd stopped infront of it. "How much for this pot?" He asked the lady. "What are you doing?" James asked his partner confused. "It's my wifes birthday today." He answered James's question and looked at the lady."165 Dollars." She answered. He looked back at the flowers. They were pretty expensive but he bought it anyway. After a long day of disappointment, the two called it a day and went to their homes. James opened the door to his apartment and threw himself on the couch as soon as he walked in. He had a lot on his mind and was thinking about the dealer. Too much thinking exhusted his brain and eventually he fall asleep. But few hours after he slept, his phone rang. Annoyed by whom ever called him in the middle of the night, he picked up the phone. "James, you are not going to believe this." It was Doneld."What is so unbelievable that you can't wait to tell me tomorrow?" "The flower i bought for my wife.... The pot is filled with drugs."James ran over to his partner's as soon as he told him about the drugs in the flower pot. When he arrived, the place was already filled with agents. As soon as he walked in, Doneld ran to him. "What happened?" James asked. "When the pot fail on the floor, it broke and two bags just sliped right out from the pot." "Does this mean the lady from the shop is the supplier?" James asked. They both looked at eachother with confussion. First thing in the morning, they got a warrant and stormed down at the shop. The lady from the shop got under arrest. Every single flower was confiscated by the DEA and as they were examined, almost more than half had two bags of drugs inside the pots. So now, it was time for interogation.James and Doneld walked in and stared at the lady from the shop. As soon as she saw them, she broke down in tears. "I swear... Detectives. I didn't do anything. I don't know anything." Her accent made it even
"Carella Mink."As soon as they got the name of Robel Petros' supplier, James and Doneld got her address and rushed over to her place. When they reached their destination they were amazed. The house was not just big but also beautiful. From the special curve like gate to the front door and the green garden that surrounded the mansion was mind blowing. They collected their jaws and walked to the gate to ring the bell. A womans voice answered their call and asked them who they are and what their business was. After they told the lady through the speaker that they were DEA Agents and that they had a couple of questions for Carella Mink, it became quite. They stood there for a while and decided to ring the bell one more time. This time it was not a lady in a speaker that greeted them but a man in a suit from the front door. The man in the black suit opened the front gates, "Follow me please detectives." he said in a commanding tone."We're
James and Doneld went back to their office and pulled out everything they could find on Carella Mink. Most of her file just says that she has been in the flower buisness for about six years, that she has a son of age 6 called Brian Mink, that her husband died a couple of years back but that was it. There was no more data on Carella Mink before seven years back. And that rose some suspision in both the agents eyes.Doneld still can't shack the fact that he knows her somewhere. He kept staring at her picture that was displayed on his monetor.Doneld and James seemed to be lost. James is almost convinced that Carella is behind all of this and that she is some how related to the Kazel case. And Doneld hasn't said a word as he kept looking at her photo as he moves his head from side to side. "I am almost positive i know her." Doneld commented to his partner that was sitting next to him. After a few minutes though, all his questions were answered as one of the agents
They couldn't believe it. There was nothing, not even a single drop of drugs in the flower pots. They distroyed her entire garden, hoping to finally catch Kanzel. But all they accomplished was to break every thing in her garden.James and Doneld sent the rest of their team away and asked the maid to take them to carella.Carella was sitting on her arm chair sipping tea through a beautiful golden cup. She still wore her sun glasses which now makes sence to both the agents as she was blind. When she heard foot steps coming to her direction, she pulled up her tea cup for Mark to place it down on the coffee table. When they finally reached the living room, Mark gestured with his hand for them to sit as far as possible from Carella. The room broke in silence. James and Doneld looked around to the result of their investigation. The once beautiful and sparkly living room was covered with soil that was spilled out of the
James was beyond annoyed. He sat at his desk next to his partner and looked at the closed file of carella Mink- Carella Jones- on his desk. How could everything be clean. Maybe someone tiped her off. Maybe she had everything cleaned before they went to her house.James couldn't let go of the fact that she bothered him too much. He had always been the one to listen to his guts. And his guts has never been wrong. But this time, it's as if, that gut feeling doesn't quite know what to process.Doneld on the other hand seemed to think that Carella was not guilty but that doesn't mean she was not connected some how.As he was roaming the files he could find on the so called best hostage negotiator, he came across a paper. It was her birth certificate. Finally. He thought to himself. It was impossible to find anything on Carella Jones. All there was publicaly was few articles that were written seven years ago. Most of the magezines at that time
"It's going to be okay. They will never know." Mark kept assuring Carella that the agent or anyone for that matter will never find out about her secret.Carella had once again asked him if the agent would find out and every time she did, mark would tell her that they couldn't know. But the more she thought about it, the tighter her chest gets. But it seems like Carella was not the only one who was loseing sleep. James had been laying awake almost every night, unable to get that woman out of his head.Carella Jones...he thought to himself 'why do you bother me so much?'He wanted to prove her guilty. But every time he thinks about her being apart of Kanzel's crew, he feels sick. And the need to prove her innocent grows every minute.James has never had this kind of reaction towards a criminal, If she is a criminal. And that some how upsets him. He has never met someone harder to read than Carella and the need to break down
Carella decided to go out with Maria to get more pots for her flowers and new seeds to grow because the agents destroied hers. But because of the feer of being recognized, she barely makes it out of her car.So while Mark and her waited in the car, Maria would go in to buy the kind of pots Carella likes.Carella leans her head against the car seat and sighs heavy. Her lips were pressed tightly against eachother. Her mind rides back to Kalven. Her late husband who was taken from her by a drunk driver. How unluck her life has been.Everytime she finds a way to be happy, the univers takes it from her.She doesn't allow herself to think of him though. Because it made her feel like her scars are being cut open in to a fresher wounds, making her bleed until she feels light headed. How much she misses him. A smile ghosts her lips as she remembers him. The man that playfuly warmed her stiff and cold self. The man who loved her nomatter what. The man who never judged her
" well, well, well,...look who we have here...The moment Agent James Walker said the name Kanzel, Carella was swollowed in to ger memory. She barely heard a word after the name was mentioned in the interogation room. All she heard was the cruel voice of that drug lord she met seven years ago."Mrs. Mink..."They called out her name but she didn't answer.Instead, she sat there and remenesed about that faithful day where she had lost her job, her faith and her confidence in her abilities. The way he took her glassess off, the roughness of his hand when her touched her right arm to return the glass...she was scared and rightfuly so.But that was not all she felt. She remembers correctly feeling like she had met him before. Like a distant memory that she can't quite reach.Maybe it was because she had met many powerful drug lords during her time as a hostage negotiator, but for a very long time, she was unable to forget that sence of famil
