“Dylan, please fetch some water for me so I can pour it on my castle!”

“No, it’s too far,” Dylan refused flatly.

I couldn’t help but smile as I watched the two of them busy building their sandcastle. The sun was already high, but there was no heat to worry about since they were sheltered under the shade of a large tree. The breeze was soft, the air cool and crisp. I leaned back on the sun lounger, eyes half-closed, taking in the peace, the laughter of my kids, the whisper of the wind, the calm rhythm of the waves.
