Chapter 4

I feel every part of me ache as I try to move my body. I can feel the cold marble floor touching my bare skin, and... and a sticky liquid seemingly surrounding me.

I tried to recall what happened last night.

The supposed to be party.

--Noona, can you believe we're sixteen already?! Hey, noona? Why do you seem distracted? --

The unusual feeling.

--N-nothing, I just feel... weird... --

Our smiling faces...

--Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday my sweet child, happy birthday to you... --

The sun going down...

The dark overcomes...

--K-Kai... --

--N-noona...? W-why does my body hurt? --

The unbearable pain...

--Ahhh! --

--Noona! It hurts. --

--Dad, w-what's happening? W-why do we feel this pain?  --

Dad crying... Hugging both of us as we feel the excruciating pain. Whispering something...

I-I can't remember.

Why don't I remember?

I tried to open my eyes, but it was still blurred. I tried to blink them in case I get my vision back. But I saw a pair of eyes staring at me. It was not a humans. It was... a wolf.

But I didn't feel scared. I just stared at his eyes that seems to hold so much fear. I wanted to hold him, but I can't move my hands. And what I saw, brought panic through my veins.

I see red stains on his white fur. On his white paws. And that's where I felt scared. W-what happened? Is that blood? Who's is it?

I wanted to get up but everything feels so numb. I closed my eyes for a brief moment, but when I open them again, I see no wolf.

My eyes was drifting off again, and even though I tried to keep me awake, I can't. I just feel so exhausted. So so tired.

The second I open my eyes, I immediately sat back up, feeling the energy coming back to me.

But I instantly regretted it when I saw what's around me. My hands immediately came to cover my mouth, shocked of the scene. The once beautiful house was now ruined, with shards from the fallen glasses and windows scattered on the floor. The fallen furnitures. The ripped sofa... Wait...

Dad... Kai...

I tried to get up, but my eyes slowly widen when I saw a thick red liquid on my hands. I immediately searched my body for injuries but I saw none. Which means...

"Dad! Kai?! "I called. But no one gave me answer which sent fear throughout my veins.

"D-dad? Kai?! "I shout on the top of my lungs, yet no one answered me. Oh no, please tell me this isn't happening. Please tell me they're alright.

I was supposed to go outside and look for them when I decided to follow the trail of blood coming from the living room. Every step I take, gives shivers down my spine. Fear, was all I can feel. Fear that one of my family might be in there. But I still hoped that it was only a prank. That this was just a surprise birthday party.

But I feel every part of me froze as I stare at my father's lifeless body, lying on the floor. Blood dripping off from his chest that holds a big scratch from... from a wolf.

"D-dad? "I called, my voice breaking as every part of me trembled in fear. But he didn't gave me an answer.

I immediately ran to him and felt his pulse, and pause when I didn't feel any. "No... No, no, no, no... Dad! Wake up, please wake up. "I cried. My heart seemed like it was pierced by hundreds of knife, noes stinging as tears continuously fell from my eyes.

"Dad... No... I said don't leave us yet! Why did you... Dad! No,.. No! "This was far worse that what I felt a while ago. Far more worse. I can't take it. I can't accept it. "Dad! "I cried my heart out as I held his cold body in my arms. I can't believe he's gone. I can't believe he left us just like that.

What's going to happen to me and Kai now... Who's going to take care of us--

"Kai... "My brother. He must be alive. He must.

I carefully laid my father on the floor as I try to look for my twin brother. Eyes dripping with so much tears, pain from having to leave him this time.

"Kai... "I stumbled my way as I look for him on the kitchen, in my room, in his room. But I see no sign of him. All that was left was my parent's bedroom.

I opened it and saw no one inside. But... I saw blood from the sheets. No, this can't be happening. Kai... He can't be... He can't die... He--

"K-Kai... "I entered the bedroom, but I see no sign of him but the red liquid that was on the once white sheets. No, this can't be him, right?

But all of my hope withered when I saw his ripped clothes on the floor, blood covered it.

"No... "I feel like someone dug a hole in my chest. Every strength of me was drained and all hope withered. The pain was being too unbearable, and all I can do was held my chest as I tried to get rid of the feeling.

But hell I know it won't. I'm all alone. My only family died. I... Can't... I don't know what to do.

What should I do?

Tears continuously fell as I dropped down to my knees, pain seemingly getting worse by the second. Dad... Kai...Why did you leave me?

I heard a sound from downstairs that alarmed me. "Kai... "I muttered. I felt all my energy rose up for the possibility that my twin is alive. T-that person might be Kai.

I immediately got up to my feet and was supposed to run downstairs when something dawned to me. It might me Kai.  But it may be also the one who killed my family.

I instantaneously searched for the gun that my father had. He said it was for self defense and he taught us how to use it for the rare occasions.

I slowly made my way downstairs, gripping the gun tightly. But hell, it kept shaking. With fear? Probably. But I can fell anger. If the one downstairs did kill my family. I swear to the Heavens, I will give no mercy.

I can hear him on the living room. Panic arose when I thought of my father's body. I immediately got out of my hiding place and pointed the gun at the culprit.

My eyes widen in shock when it was indeed a wolf. It was the same as what I was looking at awhile ago when I was half conscious. But compared to awhile ago, he wasn't bathed with blood.

Maybe he washed off.

He was staring at my father's lifeless body,  eyes filling with seems to be sadness. He was supposed to hold him when I immediately pulled the trigger and shoot it up, before aiming at him again. He was shocked as he stare at me.

"Don't touch him. "

He has his innocent face on. He seemed to be clueless or was just wearing a facade but either way, I can't let my guard down. Maybe he'll kill me later on. As I know, wolves are cunning creatures.

He was staring at me with confused expression and I don't know why. He tried to walk up to me but I instantly made him halt.

"Stand back. Don't come near me. Y-you killed my father... "A tear escaped my eye but I immediately wiped it off. The wolf was still confused as he shook his head in disagreement. I was surprised. How could he give me a reply? Could he be... No. There's no such thing!  "N-no, you killed him! I saw you! "

I saw how there was pain in his eyes. And I don't know why my heart ached because of it. Come to think of it, he looked familiar.

He... He was the wolf that I first saw in the woods. He was the wolf on the portrait. The one with golden fur. He... He's real.

He took a step towards me.

"N-no, I said don't come to me. "He was still walking, going near me. I can easily shoot him. But darn it, I can't seem to pull the trigger...

"Don't come to me... "I again warned but he didn't listen. "I said stop! "My fingers unintentionally pulled the trigger. My eyes widen when I saw that it shot him. He was bleeding. The once white fur was now evident with blood. The familiar scene faced me. He hurtfully looked at me, the pain in my heart slowly worsening as I stood still and watch him. Not giving him the aid he needs.

Why would I?

He killed my family.

But why am I having second thoughts?

And when I was about to walk up to him, I heard the sound of sirens. The police... Thank God...

My eyes widen in shock when the wolf bit the sleeves of my coat and forcedly let me ride on his back. "What are you doing?!  " I was about to go back down when he started running.

I had no choice but to held on him tightly. Where is he taking me? Will he torture me because of what I've done? "Stop! "I yelled on his ear but he didn't halt. He just kept running into the woods. I don't even know where he's taking me. But I was just holding into him as I feel the tears dripping down to my cheeks. I think it's better this way. My family had died. I have no reason to live anyways. I'll just let him kill me.

"Just... Kill me fast, okay? "I pleaded with a broken voice. God knows how broken that sounded. And I know He knows that isn't close to what I'm feeling now.

That's where I made him cease. He sat down making me fall out of his back, and he faced me afterwards. He was having his innocent face as he put his head on my shoulder. My heart felt an uncomfortable warmth with his gesticulation. I understand his expression. He has no plan to kill me. He was saying it through gestures.

"I won't... kill you... "My eyes widen when the once wolf transformed himself to human revealing a familiar face.

"H-hunter...? "
