Damon's POV

I folded my hands on the table and rested my head on the space in between them. The heavens knew that I was tired. I was tired of myself. I was tired of my pack and not knowing who was going to betray me in the next second. I was tired of never thinking about anything other than work. And most especially, I was tired of being mated to a girl who knew nothing and just wanted me dead.

Worse, I had allowed Leo to take over my body. And what had happened? He made me kiss that human girl. Just thinking about it disgusted me so much. I moved my hands to my lips and brushed at them severally as if that would erase the horrible memory away from my head.

But it didn't. It kept replaying and replaying no manger how hard I tried to stop it. It was a good thing I sent the guard away before my wolf took over completely. Otherwise, I would have ended up being the entire pack's gossip source.

*She gave in too. It means she likes us,* Leo said in my head.
