Chapter 20

We left the coffee shop, wasting no time in our search for David and Dimietry. I practiced my spells, while Tony and Sylvia packed weapons to aid them in battle. We each made sure we had on a warm pair of jeans and unlike them; I put on a warm sweater and slipped a hoodie over it for extra warmth. Werewolves don’t need extra garments to keep warm, the blood flows through their veins so fast it’s nearly impossible for them to get cold.

Tony lifted the duffle bag over his shoulder as Sylvia and I put on our jackets. We set out east on foot. The cold hit my face bitterly; the weather was beginning to turn as November drew closer. I took a deep breath through my nose. I wanted to smell as much of the autumn air as I could before we went underground.
