Chapter 11

“What is it Rose? You don’t feel scared today after coming from her room!” Rose looks at the Old cook, a woman of age around sixty, named Maria, and smiled shrugging and jerking her shoulders like a happy kid.

Then holding Maria’s hands in hers, she said thoughtfully, “My Madam Olivia is not so bad you know. She had her juice today and didn’t shout at me!” Then again looking around to check that no one heard them Rose whispered to Maria pouting slightly, “I see so much of pain and sadness in her eyes! And I don’t know what to think but I feel as if she is not as cruel as she behaves. She does this purposely.” Pausing for a while Rose jumps to sit on top of the kitchen counter and then asks sighing, “I wonder why is she so sad?” 

Maria closes the distance between them and then lifting Rose’s chin with her finger, she says in a kind voice, “Child, don’t bother about the matters
