Chapter Eight (Part One)
Jordyn smiled as she woke up to a strong smell of pine. She tried to roll over to face him but she couldn’t move. She wiggled her wrists only to feel the silver sting her. Opening her eyes she could see that she was in some sort of basement, maybe a dungeon. She glanced around the room, starting to panic. ‘Jayce, Myra, somebody.’ She tried to mindlink them.
“I wouldn’t bother, they can’t hear you.” The calm deep voice came from the shadows.
“Who are you?” The voice that came out was not hers but Vivian’s.
“I’m none of your concern, yet. Leon sent me.”
“Why would Leon send you?” She was trying not to let her voice shake.

Walking into his brother’s hospital room only made the feeling worse. Josh was smiling at him but all Jayce could smell was death, mixed with Josh’s usual cedar wood smell. The smell was enough to make Jayce’s stomach turn. Jordyn was back in the cell, Leviathan frozen in terror as he stared straight into her eyes. She took his traumatized state as a way to escape and flung her head into his, knocking him down. She started to shift, not caring about her clothes, hoping that the silver wouldn’t burn her wrists too bad. She was shocked at how little resistance the cuffs gave her before shattering. She felt the burns but didn’t have time to question anything. Fully in wolf form, she ran. Not knowing where she was didn’t alter her plan at all. Jayce tried his hardest not to let Shadow take over and keep himself from losing what little food he had eaten. He looked over at Myra who had tears streaming down her face and her hand covering her face.
