Ch7. Finding Out
☆☆Mia POV☆☆
The way Natalia looked at me, made me realise how much she hated me. I only wanted to know why. I never did anything to her. I didn’t even know her.
She despised me for no apparent reason. Anger was shooting like wild daggers from her eyes, her body trembled in frustration and her face showed contempt. The scene that was supposed to amuse her, turned against her and humiliated her instead of me. All that goes back to Kevin; I never knew he was capable of something like that.
When my foot slipped, I expected to fall down hard and hear laughter all around me. Instead, I felt strong hands holding my arm and back; keeping me from falling. Kevin held me like I was a doll and moved me just one step to the side to avoid the spilled water on the floor. He actually saw the whole thing happening when I thought he didn’t even notice.

☆☆Kevin POV☆☆ I ended the call with Jack and lost all of my senses at once. His words echoed in my ears continuously: “that thing is dangerous, don’t show it to anyone, and be careful around it” “Oh god it is all my fault. I even dragged Mia into this mess” I blamed myself for everything. I shouldn’t have gone to the attic in the first place. I stayed up all night pacing back and forth in my room, thinking about everything that happened since we found it and how it all made sense now. My alarm sounded next to me, bringing me back to reality. I got ready for school as fast as possible, gathered everything and went straight to Mia’s house. I wanted to catch her before she boarded the bus. I parked in front of her house and waited after I called her like a million times. It took her 15 minutes to come out. She stepped into the car complaining: “what the hell Kevin? You scared me. Why are you here? Did something….”

☆☆Kevin POV☆☆ I got into the changing room to get ready for the race. Mia’s idea was a good one, I had to give her that, but I felt hesitant and worried towards it. She wanted to prove whether the horseshoe was a lucky charm or not. I closed my eyes remembering what we talked about in the car trying to calm down and find logic in what she said. “Trust me Kevin; it’s the only way to be sure. I looked into her curious eyes and said as i scratched the back of my head: “I don’t know Mia; I really think we should listen to Jack and keep away from it” She sighed soundly putting her head down replying in a low tone: “I just don’t think that it’s dangerous at all. ☆☆Mia POV☆☆The second I saw Ben behind me, I instantly froze. “What is he doing here? Why did he come to us? He usually ignores us completely as if we are air” I thought to myself as I stared at his smile that he was flashing at me.I stared at him in disbelief, he looked at Kevin and his smile turned into a smirk while Kevin gritted his teeth and glared at him even more fiercely.Kevin’s grip tightened on my hand, squeezing my fingers more. ☆☆Kevin POV☆☆ I left Mia’s house in denial, I didn’t want to believe that we actually fought together for the first time since we became friends. I walked around aimlessly thinking about our last conversation. Her words shattered me completely, it hurt so bad that I couldn’t breathe right. It feels like I got stabbed right into my heart and its bleeding sorrow. The worst part was that she didn’t know anything nor she believed me. Finally I dragged myself back home. I didn’t want to talk to anyone, so I just headed upstairs. As soon as I entered my room, I dropped myself on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Sadness poured inside my soul.
