The second I heard Mia’s scream, my foot involuntarily hit the brake. However, everything went black for a few seconds; I didn’t hear anything nor see anything or even feel anything. I was totally numb.

Then I started to hear a few distant voices: “call an ambulance” then, someone shaking my shoulder asked: “Are you okay?” “Are you hurt?”

My vision was blurry at first, I felt fine, nothing hurt, no blood and no broken bones. I raised up my head that was resting on the steering wheel as I blinked my eyes a few times to clear my sight until I saw Mia next to me and I freaked out.
