Chapter 14

Jenna's POV 

Gianna is probably right. Jace wouldn't be the Alpha King if he were so easily predictable. I'm able to see him with no layers because he wants me to see him that way. 

"Do you really think your people will love me?" I asked to kill the awkward silence. 

"Yes, they will." He kissed my lips. 

"Then take me home. I can't wait to meet our people."

Jace and I were in the car where Oakley and Martha were waiting for us, along with our son. I desperately took him in my arms and kissed all of his face. Last night I might have enjoyed our love making, but my mind had been with my son. 

This was my first time keeping him away from me. At home, I won't let Jace give him away when we make love. I want my son in front of my eyes. 

The ride to Jace's kingdom was ten hours long after a five hours long flight. 

The flight didn't bother much because I was so tired I slept all the way. When the road ride started, I kind of felt nauseated. 

Luckily we were in a limousine. I have never felt so blessed before given it was overly spacious. While we kept Jared in a car cot on the seat across from us, Jace and I slept together on a seat. 

We were nestled under the blanket while a convoy of four security cars followed us on the road. Oakley was in one of those. Martha was sitting in the passenger seat of our limousine in the front with the driver. She kept sneaking in through the interior door to take a look at Jared in case he needed anything.

I only opened my eyes when Jace lovingly caressed my waist to wake me up, "We are home, Jenna baby. Wake up."

His words put a smile on my face. I sat up and looked out of the window. Lovely pink trees were lining the road. My mouth hung open in awe as I watched the winds blow out pink petals.

"Wow!" I gasped as Jace pulled me in his lap.

"Many things in my kingdom are going to make you say wow."

I was in a state of daze. This felt unreal. I have heard the Kingston Kingdom is heaven, but today I got to see it.

"I can't believe this." I whispered as we drove on a bridge overlooking a breathtaking view down in a forest full of Cherry Blossom Trees.

"What you can't believe, my queen?" Jace kissed my shoulder.

"That one day I'll be the queen of a kingdom that rules over a hundred and fifty packs."

"You are now." He hugged me tightly. "Can't wait to divide my duties with you. There are so many responsibilities I would gladly give up."

I just sat there, feeling like I was hearing things. Has Jace always been this committed to treating everyone as equals? I mean, I haven't yet heard him say things like women can't do this or that. He's always talking like he believes women can also do everything the men can.

His house wasn't just any random lavishly built bungalow. It was a huge vintage castle that dropped my jaw. 

The windows, the towers, the stony walls and the height... All of it made me look in awe. The village looked like something from an old storybook. I felt like I was transported to the medieval age. 

"This is beautiful. But didn't your father, the old Alpha King, live in a different place in the kingdom?" I turned to him as I held our son to my chest carefully. 

"Hmm. He lives in the capital city— Irovale, while we are in the oldest village known as The Silent Hills that still has people living like in the old times. Will you dislike me if I tell you I love old vintage stuff?"

"I love them too." My voice shivered in excitement. 

I've always dreamed of castles, luxury corridors, and antiques worth millions decorating every corner of it. However, I was an orphan. My life till my teenage years was spent in the orphanage. Then I worked a few years around to survive before I met Chris. 

My ex-mate was rich— but Jace is mad rich. Chris didn't even hold one perfect of this mad richness. 

"Let's take you inside, our people are waiting to meet you." He pressed a hand to my back. 

We both started walking towards the entrance. I looked over the shoulder at the people, who were peeking out of the windows of their house. Warm lights were glowing through their windows. 

I noticed some young girls waving at me as I heard someone scream, "Welcome home, Luna Queen." I grinned exultantly and waved back. 

"Let's go." Jace ushered me forward. On our way inside he told me, "We've had a long tiring week. Rest first, okay. I'll take you to meet our people tomorrow or the day after tomorrow."

"Hmm." We walked through the Iron gates before the castle. 

I gasped because a hundred plus people were waiting for us. An old woman was standing with a golden platter. Flower garlands were on it. Her face brightened as we stopped her. 

"Mom," Jace kissed her forehead before engulfing her in a hug. 

"My son, welcome back." She squeezed him with a hand before her eyes regarded me. "Move away. Let me welcome my daughter-in-law... And look who we have there!" 

I couldn't stop my chuckle when Jace's mother, the old Luna Queen pushed him aside and rushed towards me. 

"Welcome home, sweetheart." My heart warmed up when she put a garland around my neck. 

Then she put one around Jared as I turned him over so she could look at his face. 

She gasped, "Dear goddess, look at him! He's little Jace. I feel like I'm taken back in time! Adamson, look at our grandson."

"He's a replica of his father. Welcome home, darlings." The old Alpha King put a hand on both our heads. 

I was in a state of shock and utter silence. Why weren't they throwing a fit? I'm certain Jace told them about my dirty past and how I was rejected by my Alpha mate. But their faces... They were aglow with delight like they were glad to have me as their daughter-in-law. 

"Come inside, honey. You had a long journey. We have all life to talk about everything. Go and rest." The old Luna Queen led me inside. 

Jace stayed back to discuss some things with his father and the council while I was escorted to his room. My eyes were wide when I saw his room. 

My Alpha King Husband was living a Disney life. There were no words to describe his room— it was exquisite. 

"I'll send Martha to help you with Jared." Her eyes were desperately looking at the little man in my arms. 

"Mom, would you mind taking care of him while I'm taking a bath?" 

"You... Sure? I mean, when I had Jace, I was so possessive of him that I wouldn't let anyone touch him."

"You are his grandmother, mom. Why would I mind?" 

"Okay." She hesitantly closed the gap between us. But when I handed Jared to her, her eyes sparkled like diamonds. 

"Oh goddess, I feel like I'm going to die of all the happiness. I'll take him to my room. Are you okay with that?" 

"Absolutely, mom. He's your heir. Do whatever you want with him."

Then she left the room with a sleeping Jared. I took a long cold bath and came out wrapped in a towel. When I stepped back inside the room, Jace was casually laying on the bed on an elbow, his eyes on the screen of his phone. 

He had bathed and changed into a white t-shirt that hugged him like I wanted to hug him all the time. I was jealous of that tshirt. I was still gawking at him when his eyes lifted and he inhaled a deep breath. 

"You... Feeling good?" He asked but my eyes were glued to his body.
