MasukChapter 28
Jenna's POV
A week later,
NightShade Pack,
So, I was finally here. The sun was burning up in the sky. I was standing on a ploughed farm in clothes that have been soiled. I worked with other workers.
Of course I insisted on coming here as a commoner. Jace hated it but he agreed in the end. So, here I was, standing amongst workers like one of them— no one knew my true identity.
"This is nice, Gianna. You're doing it better than others." Kalen praised me— I used a fake name— as I wiped a hand over my forehead.
"Thanks, sir. I learned this from you. You explained so well yesterday."
"Oh, that's my job. Thanks for learning it so well yourself." He patted my shoulder and proceeded ahead to help others.
I sighed and decided to go back to work. We were leveling out the soil using hand tools. This was done to ensure the soil wasn't damaged and some other stuff. I didn't hear much. I only focused on my job— Which is to get more familiar and friendly with Kalen.
"Anyway, let's get back to work." I sucked a deep breath before picking up my tool.
I bent over the soil to work when two shiny black leather shoes stopped in my vision. The scent of the man gave him away before I saw who it was.
"Jenna?" I gritted my teeth as I heard his voice.
'If you let me take control, I'll end his life right here and now.' My wolf grunted.
'No, not now. We won't let him die before facing his share of insults.' I replied before I rose to my full height.
Chris was dressed in a fine dark green suit. A mocking smile sat on his lips as he studied me from head to toe. It made me look down as well. My clothes were brown from the soil, not to mention I was wearing cheap fabric to look my part of a worker. I also had dirt under my nails, which were also chipped and breaking from all the soil handling.
"Tch, Tch, this is what has become of you after our separation." His lips now raised high in fake pity.
"So what? It's not like you're regretful."
"Why would I be regretful? It's you who ruined it all." I scoffed at his words.
"I ruined it? Haha! It's you who couldn't provide enough slash strong sperm to make a baby. But I ruined it?!" I chortled, which rubbed him where I wanted it to.
"Watch your words, bítch!" He clutched my elbow and squeezed it.
I gritted my teeth to suppress the pain as I noticed movements in my peripheral vision.
'No, guys. You don't interrupt.' I snapped on the mind link.
'Luna Queen, he's assaulting you in the open! How can we not?' Pluto, my secretary and bodyguard seethed.
He was given to me by Jace. Pluto was his guard before, and after my coronation, he let Pluto serve me as he thought I needed a strong and skillful person like him with me more.
'No, Pluto. If you step in, he'll know who I am.' I said in warning.
'But Luna... What about Alpha King? What will I answer him if he asks me about this?'
'I'll handle him. Please stay away right now.' He sighed hard across the field. I could hear it too. Then he moved back like he wasn't there.
"There's nothing wrong with my sperm. It's you who jinxed my life with your presence." My chest squeezed as his words struck me like a whip.
"You jinxed your own life by lingering in Sasha's memory, Chris. You were so hung over her, you ruined your health."
"There's nothing wrong with my health, okay." He whisper-yelled as his fingers bit into my flash.
Unwanted tears sting in the back of my eyes. I was married to this man. I loved him. Seeing him now, a slow but intense flood of ache washed over me. How could I really love this monster?
"You just couldn't wait enough to carry my child. You acted like an impatient whóre and demanded to have a child whether or not it came from me." He jerked me hard.
I had to warn Pluto again. He and the other guards Chris had missed to notice were growing restless by each passing second. Their chests were heaving. They were clenching their fists while Chris went about humiliating me with his words.
He said things about how unlucky I was to end up here on a farm, working like a laborer. He mocked me for so many things that I couldn't keep count. A point came where I could no longer hear him. I was just watching his hostile eyes.
Have I really loved those eyes? I laughed. I might be pretty drunk on stupidity. It's impossible to love a man with such hate-filled eyes.
He jerked me again and I snapped back to my senses. My hearing returned and I heard his upcoming words.
"I wasn't the one at problem, slút. You were. Your weak womb couldn't carry my sperm. There was nothing never wrong with me. Let me show you the proof. Sasha! Sasha, darling, come over here for a minute." He called out to someone over his left shoulder.
I directed my eyes behind him and my breath turned sharp— Sasha was holding her big eight-months belly bump carefully as she walked over to us.
"Yes, honey?"
"I want you to meet someone." He held her waist and presented her to me.
"Oh, look who we have here!" Sasha chuckled loudly. Some women from around surrounded us.
On close inspection, I realized that they were the Lunas of other packs. The Lunas with whom I couldn't develop a good bond, no matter how many kitty parties we had together.
I was studying their faces when a woman paused beside Sasha. She looped her arm around hers, making Chris remove his own from Sasha's waist.
'What the— Mila! She was our best friend, wasn't she?' My wolf snapped as I took in the way my once best friend was caring for Sasha.
It was so dumbfounding, I could help but ask, "Mila, how can you be with her? She ruined my marriage."
"It's you who ruined your marriage by getting knocked up by some cab driver." Mila spat as she looped her arm tighter around Sasha's.
I watched it as my lips turned into a knowing smile. I know what this is. Mila always loved the favors that came from becoming the Luna's friend. In this situation, the Luna's minion.
I never realized she was only with me for money. I do now.
"Jenna, I feel bad for you. I didn't expect you'll end up on the fields." Sasha pouted mockingly.
"Yeah, it's really bad. But she deserved it. She's always been very proud of her fighting skills and the fact that she was a Luna to a powerful Alpha." Another Luna sneered.
"Look what she's become now— a worker." Someone else scoffed.
"It suits you though. You ended up where you belonged... In the dirt."
They were enjoying humiliating me while I stood there, amused. They were thinking I was a worker here. It would be worth every second of the time when I walk out with Jace as his Luna Queen.
But it's not Chris who I need to seek my revenge on. He's the last. Henry is first on my target.
"If you're finished, I would like to go back to work." I said lazily.
The Lunas and Sasha gritted their jaws. They pinned me with a glare so hard, I could have melted if looks could.
"Why so embarrassed? You shouldn't be." Mila came up as others were too busy brainstorming new insults to speak.
I turned to her and folded my hands. A cruel smile curved my lips as I looked her up and down, "That dress used to be mine. Did you ask the homewrecker to give you my wardrobe instead of discarding it?"
Mila turned pink and stepped back. Good for you.
Since no one was speaking, I began to leave. But Chris' words froze my legs.
"You were once my wife. And now you're carrying tools, working in a field. Why would you do this to yourself, Jenna? Why?" My jaw slackened because he sounded hurt.
Was this his new drama?

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug
Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it
Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was
Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team
Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
