Chapter 1:

Felicia had to kneel for a long time.

She knelt in the middle of the road outside the Palace of Light. The palace maids passed by incessantly, but they all bowed their heads to avoid her as much as possible. None of them bothered to glance at her.

Felicia didn't pay any attention to them either. Regardless of their appearance, everyone around her had the same expression. Their faces were either devoid of fear or filled with disgust, occasionally adorned with a few fake smiles.

It was hard to bear. The sky poured down a light rain, tiny droplets falling here and there. Felicia began to feel pain in her knees. She lowered her head and slowly shifted to the side. The weeds by the road suddenly stirred. A group of ants were busy carrying their prey back to their nest. It was a fat worm that required a lot of effort from them. Seeing their impending triumph, Felicia casually broke off a branch, lifted the worm, and threw it far away.

The ants scattered in panic, running in all directions. She smiled with satisfaction. But a moment later, the ants crawled back to the fat worm, unwilling to let go of their hard-earned achievement.

Felicia once again pushed the worm away with a wave of her hand. Suddenly, a voice echoed above her: "Beings in this world have already suffered enough. As a human, you should have compassion. Why do you have to make things difficult for others like this?" Felicia raised her head forcefully and discovered a man standing before her. He wore a smooth white robe and silk shoes, towering in stature. Felicia knelt on the ground; through the misty drizzle resembling silk threads, she saw a small star hanging from his belt. It emitted a pure light, shimmering with a faint halo.

She looked up and saw a face that was unlike those around her. The man had a strong brow, a high nose, gentle and thin lips, and long gray hair flowing down to his waist.

Initially, He was righteous and gentlemanly, but at this moment, his brows furrowed, and his expression turned cold. Only his lips remained gentle, as if emanating warmth, like a blooming flower amid a frigid, snowy field, waiting inadvertently or deliberately for someone to come and pick it. In his eyes, the fear was not commonly seen in others. His dark eyes looked down from above, full of scrutiny and investigation. This gaze made Felicia feel no goodwill. She asked, "Who are you?"

The man's voice was as cold and clear as ice and jade: "Red Stone Pack, Jayce."

"Jayce?" Felicia repeated the name, feeling somewhat familiar. In front of her, Jayce frowned slightly.

He had a different identity; most people called him the esteemed Alpha male. In contrast, his real name had only been called briefly. The woman before him wore a purple robe on the gray path leading to the royal palace, accentuating a sense of casualness as if blending into the flow. Felicia didn't know how long she had been kneeling here, and the drizzle gradually subsided. The tiny droplets fell, decorating the purple attire and the black hair like transparent pearls, delicate and fragile.

However, that scene made the delicate white face of Felicia stand out even more.

He asked, "Who are you?"

Felicia blinked her eyes, suddenly remembering who this person was!

Red Stone Pack! Oh! Could this man be her future brother-in-law? Felicia had a sister, Monica, destined to marry into the Red Stone Pack as their Luna since childhood. The Red Stone Pack had an exalted status, but now they humbled themselves and bestowed their grace by selecting a Luna who was a commoner. And obviously, the chosen future Luna was Princess Monica of the Blue Moon Pack.

The entire Blue Moon Pack rejoiced as if going mad. The Emperor even regretted not immediately building a nine-story tower in the sky and personally presenting his sister to the Red Stone Pack.

Every year on her sister's birthday, people flocked to the door to congratulate her like an endless stream of ants. During banquets, the loud laughter of the crowd always revolved around stories of the Red Stone Pack.

Felicia had no interest in the affairs of the Red Stone Pack. Yet, she had to listen to many people mention it every day, making it impossible for her to ignore.

Her sister was promised to be married off to the Red Stone Pack as their future Luna, and the Lycan King had a son named Jayce, bearing the title of Alpha male. Based on the rumors she heard, the King and the Queen wanted to crown him as the Crown Prince.

Therefore, it made perfect sense to call him her future brother-in-law.

As she thought about his identity, Felicia couldn't help but feel disdainful. No matter how she looked at Jayce's face, she found it displeasing. And naturally, the attitude won't be charming when something is displeasing. She said, "Isn't the Red Stone Pack powerful enough? Why do they want to meddle in my affairs?"

"Hmm," Alpha Jayce frowned in a cross shape. How could the Blue Moon Pack be dissatisfied with the Red Stone Pack? He said, "Even if I am just an ordinary guest, I still must show proper etiquette. I see that your attire is different from that of ordinary palace maids; why don't you understand the hierarchy of etiquette?"

"You shameless person!" Felicia's disdainful gaze toward the person before her became even more intense. She pointed to her upright kneeling position and said, "Do you dare to say that I don't understand the hierarchy of etiquette like this?"

This... Alpha male momentarily fell silent. After a while, he asked, "Then why is the lady performing such a grand ceremony?"

He wasn't so idle as to engage in idle talk with Felicia. His main surprise was directed at this woman from the Blue Moon Pack. She hadn't tied her hair up high, indicating she was still young. Her refined dress and exquisite makeup didn't resemble those of ordinary palace maids or servants.

Living in the palace, not yet married, dressed and made up so exquisitely... There was only one possibility. He asked, "Are you the princess of the Blue Moon Pack?"

The mind of the Alpha male was indeed sharp. Felicia rolled her eyes and muttered, wanting to come up with some malicious story to threaten him. She asked, "Which princess of the Blue Moon Pack?"

Indeed, the Alpha male's gaze turned solemn. "Princess Monica?" His voice carried added pressure and dominance.

Why should Felicia fear him? Don't blame the Princess for deceiving you if that was the case. After all, it was your fault for not investigating beforehand, right? Hmph, everyone is the same, only mentioning Princess Monica when discussing the Princess of the Blue Moon Pack. Felicia silently refused to answer that question and asked boldly, "Why are you here?"

At this moment, the Alpha male finally revealed a hint of surprise. Was this Princess Monica? The rumors said Princess Monica was pure and gentle, like a blooming flower. But when he saw her, he felt those rumors were completely off!

His thoughts suddenly became chaotic, but he quickly found a reasonable explanation. Princess Monica had been destined to be the Luna of the Red Stone Pack since childhood. Perhaps that's why the Blue Moon Pack was overly indulgent and doting towards her. But in the end, the chosen Luna would still be a pillar of the Red Stone Pack in the future. How could they treat her as a joke?

Seeing him lost in thought and not saying anything else, Felicia spoke in a commanding tone, "I'm talking to you. Are you deaf or what?"

... honestly didn't know the immensity of heaven and earth. The Alpha male said, "Tomorrow is your fifteenth birthday. My parents thought you had reached a marriageable age, so they commanded me to bring the gifts to the Blue Moon Pack to congratulate you."

As soon as he finished speaking, he raised his right hand, and a velvet box appeared in the palm of his hand. This person was considered someone who knew how to control his emotions very well. Felicia accepted the velvet box without opening it to see what was inside. She waved her hand and said, "I know; you may leave now."

The Alpha male, who had been worshipped by people for two thousand and seven hundred years, experienced for the first time the feeling of being dismissed like a dog, which made him unable to refrain from asking, "Why do you have no fear or respect for the Red Stone Pack?"

However, Felicia seemed strange and said, "Up until now, there's only one thing I have been afraid of. Do you want to know what it is?"

Alpha Jayce knew he shouldn't ask, but this was the first time someone in front of him spoke so boldly, without any respect. So, even though he sensed something was off, he still asked, "What is it?"

Felicia played along and said gleefully, "It's the night guard dog in the Rainbow Palace. It eats dirty food and likes to bite people. Neither you nor I can do that, so it scares me. By the way, it seems like the Red Stone Pack... Hey! I haven't finished yet, and you're leaving? Not even a greeting. Truly, you have no sense of etiquette!"

She tried to shout, but the Alpha male disappeared as quickly as the wind without looking back at her.

Why did he even ask this question? It was utterly unnecessary. And what a coincidence it was! Alpha Jayce had only taken a few steps when he ran into the Lycan King rushing towards him. The Lycan King glanced lightly and saw Felicia kneeling in the path's middle. From childhood to adulthood, she had always knelt with such grace and elegance that no one could find fault with her.

The Lycan King naturally understood his daughter's temperament! He felt his blood boiling and became a little dizzy at this moment. "Alpha male!" He suppressed his anger and smiled, trying to soothe him, "The esteemed Alpha male's presence is a great honor for the Blue Moon Pack. I invite the Alpha male to the Rainbow Palace to enjoy tea with the old man."

But Alpha Jayce, true to his reputation as the most challenging person to converse with in the Red Stone Pack, only gave a cold glance at the Lycan King and said, "No need."

With that, he flicked his sleeve and walked away.

The Lycan King was left speechless, furious, and turned to face Felicia, "Wicked girl, what did you say to the Alpha male?!"

Felicia didn't even pay attention to her father's anger. She knelt solemnly, presenting the velvet box, "I only mentioned that a dog in the palace likes to bite people. Why is the father so angry? The Red Stone Pack has always considered themselves superior, arrogant, and disrespectful. Alpha Jayce doesn't care about anyone; he is the one who lacks etiquette. What does it have to do with me? Oh, this is a gift King Lycan and the Queen prepared to celebrate my sister's birthday. Please, Father, calm down."

How could the Lycan King not be furious? It could be described as an explosive fury falling short of expressing his anger. He forcibly took the velvet box, trembling, and pointed at Felicia while scolding incessantly, "You wretched and shameless person! If you dare to disturb Monica's marriage with the Red Stone Pack, I will personally skin you alive!"

Felicia sighed, "Father, they are the mighty Red Stone Pack. It shows their narrow-mindedness if they would cancel a marriage just because of some useless words from an ordinary person like me. In a place like that, no matter who my sister marries, she will be looked down upon and endure many hardships. Your hands have raised her from childhood to adulthood. She is your precious treasure and has never suffered any loss. It's better to give up early."
