Chapter 8

Today was the day that the kids meet Micheal. I had already told them about him. The boys was kind of mad but baby girl was excited to meet mommy's friend.

I had changed my clothes a dozen time. I was nervous for some reason. I was sitting in the kitchen on the phone with Kita, waiting on the boys to finish getting ready. The only reason they agreed to go was because I promise they could ride the go cars. My boys liked anything that they could drive.

"Kita, what am I gonna do if the kids doesn't like him?" i asked,

"Girl, them kids can not live your life. Stop worrying and put yourself first for once. They are old enough to realize that you not with their sorry ass daddy anymore and that you deserve to be happy." She never let Damien make it. She always threw some kind of slick insult whenever she mentioned his name. You would've thought she was the one that was married to him.

"I know but I want them to like him. If my kids don't get along with a man, than I can not date him.  A man is not only getting me but he getting my kids too. Heifer, we a package deal."

I was not one of those women that dated a man only thinking about herself. My kids would always come first. If they was miserable, than I was miserable. As much as I liked him, this had to work. They had to hit it off. I had no problem letting him go if my kids hated him.

"Them kids will be okay. As long as you happy, they will be happy. God knows they have seen the way their sorry ass daddy treated you. And they still love his nasty ass."

I just sighed. This was not the way I wanted the conversation to go. I knew I had called the wrong sister friend. I should've called Jessica. She was real but she did it in away that didn't make you feel bad.

"Kita,  I'll call you later on tonight. Right now is not the time to keep bringing up Damien. I'm more worried about my kids. Bye girl."

I hung up the phone and continued to worry about how the day was going to go.

by the time we made it to Incredible Pizza, I was a nervous wreck. I keep reminding the kids to be on their best behavior. I prayed that they liked Micheal.  I spotted him standing in the entrance. I could tell that he was just as nerves as I was. He had his niece in his arms. She was a cutie. Micheal only had one sibling and Shay was his only niece. He adores her. I knew that getting all the kids together was a good idea to put him at ease. Once we got out the car, he geeeted me with a kiss on my cheek. That simple gesture made me blush.

"Kids this is mommy's friend Micheal. Micheal keep the kids."

After the introduces we proceeded inside the building. As soon as they could, the boys ran off. The girls was with us. We let them play in the little kids area for an hour before we decided it was time for a break. We sat at one of the tables in the sitting area.

"Your daughter is such a pretty girl. She looks as pretty as her momma." Micheal told me.

"Your niece is just as pretty. I can tell she's a good child. She hasn't complained not once and I can tell that she really loves her uncle."

I looked at the girls and saw how good they got alone. After the first five minutes, they acted like they had playing together all their lives. They held hands and looked for each other at every game. It was pretty cute.

After another hour, it was time to eat. I went in search on the boys. I found them arguing at the bumper cars. They couldn't decide who turn it was to go first.

"Man, you went first at the go carts." Jeremiah told his little brother.

"Come on boys. It's time to eat." I said from behind them. I could tell I had caught them off guard because they jumped a little.

"Mom, I'm not ready to eat." Said Junior. "We should've went somewhere else. This place for babies." Then he looked at Jeremiah.

"You just mad that i keep beating you." Jeremiah bragged.

"Let's eat. So we can go."

As we waiting on the waitress to bring our pizza and wings, I watch my boys talk about the latest basketball game with Micheal. It turns out that they all was Lebron James fan. I kept smiling throughout the meal. Looks like he had won the kids over all in one day.

When we got ready to leave, Aza gave Micheal a hug. The boys wanted to watch the next Laker game with him, because Lebron was in the championship.

On the way home the kids was talking nonstop. i was listening to my favorite singer Jhene Aikos. I loved her. I could listen to my girl all day. She was a whole vibe.

So boys, what did you think of Micheal?"

"I mean he cool, but he not dad." Junior said.

"Well I like him. Especially if he take us to see the Lakers play." Responded Jeremiah.

"Now he didn't say he was going to do all that." I told Jeremiah.

By the time We made in the driveway, Aza was fast asleep. I had to carry her in the house. She was so tired that she didn't even wake up when i put her in the bed. I left the boys to their own devices and decided that I was gone take a shower and get in bed myself. I kept replaying today in my head and decided that it was a good day. Now that the kids like him, I could finally make us an official couple. i hope Micheal was as ready as I was.
