“Uhm… I’ll be leaving now.” I said to my boss, Mrs. Anderson.
“Oh, really?” She replied. “Is there any problem?”
“No. I just feel a bit sick.”
“Okay, darling. Who am I to say no to you? I can handle the affairs of this place on my own, and you can return when you feel better.” She patted my shoulder.
I had to stop myself from cringing at her sweetness. She’d have definitely barked at me if I wasn’t married to Tristan. Funny how some people change their attitude towards you because of your new status.
I grabbed my purse and left, calling Mike again as a reminder.
Shortly after, the car pulled over in front of the bakery and Mike came out of it, turning around to open the door to the passenger seat for me.
I suddenly felt a load of weakness hit me and
Tristan held his briefcase and was arranging his files into them. His back faced me as I walked into the home office.I hugged him from behind, resting my head on his back like the ladies in the movies I had watched did to their lovers.“You’re being too clingy. If you continue acting this way, I’ll be forced to stay back.”“I’d love that, but that’ll make me an enemy of your progress and I don’t want that.” I pulled apart from him and stood in front of him.“Seriously?” He rolled his eyes and closed the briefcase. “I’ll be leaving soon with Kye, though he’ll be back sooner since he doesn’t have a lot to do.” He held my hands. “Charlotte would like to come stay here for a while; she’ll be bored, and due to her pregnancy, she claims to need a lot of assistance from
“Hazel, Hazel?” Charlotte called, tapping me.I flinched out of my thoughts, scanning everywhere with my eyes like I was kidnapped into an unfamiliar building till I regained composure after glancing at her.“Oh, Charlotte. H-Hi.” I smiled.“You seem to be overthinking since the day I arrived.” She said with her eyes squinted at me, propping her chin between her index finger and thumb.“Overthinking? What? No way. Pfft.” I waved a hand over my face.“Hazel…” She squinted her eyes suspiciously and sat beside me on the chair. “Is anything wrong?”
~ TRISTAN ~“What’s wrong?!” Kye asked, worried.“It’s Hazel. Sh-she suddenly passed out, her breathing isn’t normal anymore, there’s no one around, and I can’t carry her to the hospital due to my pregnancy. I’m scared. She doesn’t look fine at all.” She said in one breath.“What the heck?!” I jerked to my feet and grabbed the phone from Kye's hand, placing it on my ear. “What is wrong with her? What happened?”“I don’t know.” I heard her wail.“Have you called the ambulance?!” I yelled.“N-no… I’m… I’ll… I’ll do it now… I....” She hung up.“What on Earth could be wrong with Hazel?” My hear
“Hazel. Come on, babe. Wake up.” I held her hand in my palms, giving it a slight squeeze. This past week has gone by so slowly. Life has been pretty hard for me. Hazel’s improvement was only slight.I was with her physically, but my entire body longed for my darling lively Hazel.I had grown to appreciate her more than ever. I knew she always made me happy, but I only realized the extent. My life was a mess without her.The saucy Dr. Steve had said she was getting really better and was going to be back on her feet very soon, but I wasn’t seeing that happen.I was growing depressed by the day; it felt like my heart was about to burst, my whole world was crumbling down.I planted a kiss on Hazel’s knuckles, then her forehead.I longed to see h
Hi, everyone. Thanks for reading this book and for your comments. This is not an update, but just to let you know that I'm sorry for not updating this book and for my constant slow updates. I have an exam to write on February 9, so I've been studying for it and was also kinda sick; that explains why I haven't been consistent with updating this book. Though I'm almost completely fine now, I'm still studying. After February 9, I might take a day or two days break to clear my head off any stress, then will be fully back to writing, and I'll try my absolute best to be consistent with the update. I might be able to update a chapter before February 9, but if I can't, I hope you understand why. Thanks a lot for your comments. They mean a lot to me. Love y'all 🥰 To stay updated about this book or for future updates, You can follow me on Instâgram: @giftodulesiOr join my Fâcebook Grôup:
Pacing around the room, I stopped to stare at Hazel on the bed, praying for her to open her eyes. There was a knock on the door then Kye and Charlotte started walking in, though I didn’t remember telling them to do so.Charlotte had a small basket in her hand which she dropped on the nightstand beside Hazel.“Hey, dude.” Kye said as he stopped beside me while Charlotte sat beside Hazel.“She still isn’t awake?” Charlotte asked rhetorically, staring at Hazel in worry; she started taking out plates from the basket.“Exactly!” I exclaimed. “And Nora has given her the last dose of the antidote, with full assurance that she was going to wake up soon. I’m really over-stressed, I haven’t had proper sleep, and—”“You really need to get a good rest.&
I was glued to my bed, carefully watching Tristan as he walked around preparing for work.I was finally feeling it around me that it had been a while since I had been awake, so watching Tristan walk around shirtless, showing off his body I considered well-defined, with his strong biceps flexing as he moved them around, felt so great; his body made me feel like drooling, and it caused an uncomfortable tingliness in my entire body, and the fact that he wasn’t paying attention to me was worsening it.He picked up his phone to make a call as he brushed his hair and slipped out a shirt and singlet from the wardrobe.“Of course, I’ll definitely be there today. Try to re-book my appointments with as many of them as possible, and try your best to balance my schedule for this week with the last two weeks'.” He said into the phone, then sighed. “I know, I know. ~ HAZEL ~ “Yes, Mrs. Anderson.” I smiled at her as Sherri handed over a mug of coffee to her as she had requested. “I was wondering why you weren’t at work, and why you weren’t answering your phone calls. I’d have come earlier, but it was so hard for me to find your home address.” She said with a smile she never displayed to me before my marriage, not stopping herself from staring around the house. “Really? I thought I already submitted it. I’m so sorry for not calling to let you know after waking up.” I apologized sheepishly. “Oh, it’s nothing.” She waved a hand over her face with a grin, taking a sip from the coffee. “Your house is really beautiful.” “Thank you.” I stared at Tristan who was staggering down the stairs in his shorts and a large robe that didn’t do anything in hiding his bare chest. He looked tired, which was totally understandable, judging from how he had been wor
