While the animal was busy ,the staff that was on standby of the broadcast was in panic.

Some robots particularly brought for the purpose of the broadcast had suddenly stopped functioning.They couldn't even connect to the surveillance room.All the communication in Excel Institute was done through that room.No external satellite was allowed to observe the layout of the institution.

The institution had its own private satellites,of which all sent signals to the surveillance room.If there was a problem in communication,it meant there was a malfunction in the surveillance room.

But a problem occurring there was unlikely,and it was the first time something like this happened.The most advanced A.I. was installed there along with Elite Personnel.Even if one worked wrong the other could fill in for him.

There were various backups to deal with emergencies,but to think they would fail altogether,it was untimely.

There were only 10 minutes remaining till the broadcast was to be out.The live footage of speech of the president was to be broadcasted from here with the help of surveillance room.If they went back on their word,it would affect the institution negatively.The lot of them couldn't shoulder the consequences of that.

The institution had its own technology to communicate inside the boundary of the institute with the help of a surveillance room.But now it had become unfavorable for them as they couldn't use it.

They couldn't all leave now that the robots laid wasted.So Jack,the one responsible for this time's arrangement for broadcast, selected a few subordinates and went to check the situation in the surveillance room.

It took them at most a minute to reach the room.Jack was the first to notice the fresh bloodstains on the ground.Jack confirmed it was blood,quite fresh at that.

The amount of the spilled blood exceeded the limits of normal scratches,if one's organ was split apart,only then would this amount of blood gather.

But how could so much blood gather here,are the other robots also losing their functionality.

Jack traced the source of bloodstains with his eyes and saw that they lead into the surveillance room.The door of the surveillance room was also not locked like usual and was opened slightly such that there was only a small crack.The gap was so small that he couldn't see anything inside.

Frowning jack said"One of you go and tell Steven about the situation.The others wait outside the door.I will go check the situation inside".The others complied,they were not granted access to the surveillance room in the first place,and even Jack was only going in because of the emergency.

Jack neared the spot clean door and opened it just enough for him to pass.He looked inside and stepped through the door.He stopped at the spot and observed around,the only thing that fell in his sight were piles and piles of broken machines and devices.He walked forward looking around and saw some half-broken cameras as well as some quite intact ones that were giving static signals.He could distinguish neither the sound nor the image.He walked further inside the room and was looking for any clue when his leg felt something sticky beneath.His eyes instinctively fell to the floor.Seeing the thing he was stepping on was spilled brain matter,he gulped.

He had seen insides of many dissected animals and their brains in person but seeing them in this situation made him tense.The area around the door was clean but there was a pool of blood surrounding the brain mater.And the trail of blood didn't end there,but continued deep inside.

Jack was forced to think of his decision to check the situation a second time.He decided to check further before making a decision.

His eyes were glued to following the trail when he heard the sound of something falling.The lighting inside the room was dim,but the object was close enough for him to see.The lightning was dim either because the light source was destroyed or the electric connection was cut.And even this amount of dim lightning was because of light reflection due to special materials the room was made of.

He moved his eyes following the sound source and his attention was captured by a human body laying with his back to him.

He needed someone to tell him the situation so he neared the body.He tried calling him but there was no response.He nudged the man,but there was still no response.He was getting quite impatient so decided to just slap him awake,Jack had just turned his body towards him and the first thing that fell in his sight was the bloodied stomach of the man.

He checked for his vital living signs.But he determined the man to be dead after checking his BT,HR and RR.Even seeing the dead body he was not in too much panic.But worried that the matter had become troublesome.

After he was done with these thoughts,he wondered about the sound of something falling.I clearly heard the body falling to the floor,but from where did it fall from?He raised his head and this time his eyes were wide opened with unprecedented shock.There was a mountain of bodies piled together,just like the pile of broken machines he had seen before.

He took in the scene from the bottom to the top and he had to raise his neck to see that high.From the amount of bodies gathered,Jack estimated that all the surveillance room's members were killed.

But how could someone have done this so quickly.Even if the surveillance room was destroyed,it could not have been destroyed in a split second,why was the alarm not rung?

Jack stepped back and looked around cautiously,but didn't deem anything to be dangerous.He had done his work here so intended to go outside without further delay,when his eyes fell on the cameras that were giving static signals.One of the camera was making a loud noise so his attention went towards it,he could make out blur pictures from it.He focused on it and tried to picture together the disjointed images.He could vaguely see some white-washed rooms, but they were empty.

Jack recognized the rooms,they were the animal cages for newly modified animals.

Jack's brows wrinkled,the main reason behind his confusion was not how the animals escaped their cages in the ensuing chaos,but why there was no alarm when all the cages were opened.

There was a defensive measure set for cases of what iffs,when more than half cages were opened almost simultaneously, there would be a lockdown.It could only be turned down before opening them together.Otherwise even the president will need to wait for a few hours.

The counter-measure to it was that the crew head of the surveillance room disable it by undergoing several security checks each time.The defensive measure would only be disabled for a maximum of 48 hours even in that case.

He suddenly thought of something and went inside again,he pressed against the wall and a terminal opened in front of him.He saw that access was green,with countdown remaining 47:48:49.

He looked at the green access and towards the heap of corpses.He squinted his eyes looking for something particular,and he did find it.The crew head was missing his thumb finger.There was a fresh cut on it,with blood frozen around it.

His thumbprint,retina scan,heartbeat,brain signals were to be checked,according to his knowledge.If the crew head had voluntarily given pass to the criminals,why did they cut his thumb then.

Basic questions were answered and since they were tight on time,Jack hurriedly exited the room after taking a last look.

In the hallway,he saw his companions still standing,awaiting further orders.It had been minutes since he had gone inside,but the person he had sent to Steven hadn't returned yet.

Normally he would wait for Steven to arrive at the scene before deciding anything,but the situation called for an instantaneous decision.

Jack took a card from inside his sleeves and gave it to one of his subordinates and said"Go sound a yellow alert,and send the worker machines to comb the surroundings."

Yellow alert was like a curfew,people were to stay inside the closest department till the yellow alert was lifted.There was also a red alert,but that was only in case of external threats.

Meanwhile Steven was ready to go along with the president when the person sent by Jack arrived,he told him about the unexpected situation.

Steven addressed the president"Sir please go to the platform for now.I will go check it myself.Even if issue is not solved on time you should make a live speech for the people gathered.We will just say the speech was for the people only present there."

President replied"Nevermind that,come with me for a sec...oh and you are dismissed, you can go to your department for now,no need to go back to Jack.We will solve it ourselves and we don't want issues.Do you understand"

The person replied"Yes sir"And left to the outside visibly confused.

Steven also looked confused for a moment then asked"President do you think..."

Charles simply smiled in response.

Meanwhile almost all department members were gathered at the department silently watching the static channel.The one next to Tim said"It's a waste of time"

Tim replied, "You are free to leave, you know."

The person grumbled but didn't leave.Luke said"First time seeing institution personnel mess something.It would be funny when I had not joined the institution,but now my reputation is at stake here,they better get that running soon."

Tim replied sarcastically"Which reputation are you talking about.I hope it is not in the game right."Luke said astonished"Did Yushin tell you?"

Tim just smacked himself and kept quiet.A few minutes remained till the agreed time,so Allen went to get some drinks for himself and others.He returned with the drinks in hand,and the door had just closed when he heard the sound of something crashing.He doubtfully looked which miserable person was it,and saw a snake sticked on the glass door.The floor door was not affected by the collision but by the poison of the snake.There was smoke rising from the place where the poison was spit.Allen's eyes opened wide seeing that,a snake was bad enough but now they could even corrode glass,where was the fairness in the World.

But the worst was yet to come,he felt vibrations followed by loud rumbling,he lifted his head to see a giant Mammoth.His World was spinning now,from where did these animals come from was not difficult to guess,It was known that one day they would be shown to everyone but how they arrived surely came as a surprise.

The others also took part in his surprise.They were all seated waiting for the broadcast and were bored,so their heads had also instantly turned towards the sound of crashing to find some entertainment in someone's misery.

Seeing the Giant Mammoth,they all got covered with sweat,the primary reason was not just these but the other carnivore animals that might have been set loose.

And their worries were not for naught.If one checked all four doors on all four wings of the department,he could see that the animals were making a circumference around the department.The door he was at right now was located north.The doors of North,South and East were tightly surrounded while there were only sparse and weak animals on West side.

It seemed they had no choice but to take a swing at the west door,and fast at that.The others also seemed to have observed it.When only minutes remained till they were about to carry out their plans ,Allen was pulled back by Tim.
