Ill Feeling

William lay down on the bed, aware of how stunned he was and that he was not in the correct mode of thinking. He went home to retrieve the charger from their house, but there was no electricity in the yellow-eyed pack's small community. In the dark evening, only lamps provide illumination. He distorts the range of emotions he feels. That's why he couldn't look around and take in everything.

William awoke around midnight, coughing numerous times owing to the dryness of his throat.

He thought to himself, “Here we go again.”

He couldn't recall how many times it had happened, but he remembered fainting the last time it did. He was startled by the pain, and his throat was constricted, so he got up and exited the small house where he was staying.

He walks outdoors, clutching his throat in an attempt to relieve the pain. Later, he spotted a man with a drink in his hand emerge from a room.

“Thirsty?” the man inquired after noticing William.

In answer, William feigned a nod.
