Chapter Twenty Three

Nymeria's rejection felt like a pain in my gut that wouldn't go away. I couldn't handle it but I still had to go to school. I dragged myself from bed I went to the bathroom for a quick shower . By the time I got out, my mum was already in my room .

'Mom . Some privacy please . ' I said then walked up to her .

' Nothing you have fazes me . ' she replied smiling . I shook my head and she handed me two insulin injections .

' don't forget and be good at school . ' she said then went out of the room .

I dropped the injections in my bag and started dressing up .

Today was year book picture day at school so I made a little effort to look good .

I finished up and carried my bag then went out of the room . My mum was at the kitchen counter . Very unusual .

' Mom, are you not going to work? ' I said as I grabbed a cereal bowl and spoon .

' I will . Just going in a little late . ' she replied but I knew she was lying .
