Chapter 6
“I'll prepare a snack first while you were touring the entire mansion,” Mrs. Marcos said before leaving me.
I nodded at her and then face again the newcomers visitors. When they park the car and tie up the horse to the small tree of olive they approach me to the door.
“Good noon to you, Mr. Da Silva, I didn't expect you to come here and not your parent,” I look for a second the arrogant driver that looking the surroundings before looking again at him.
“It’s nothing impossible there, Ms. LeStrange.”
I nodded, “we can start now, where do you want to go first?”
“I want to go first the second floor,” he said while looking at the wooden staircase with red carpet.
“Okay,” I whispered, I walk and I saw him followed me. I will so awkward this time that I don’t know what the meaning of that is. Until I notice that his driver was not following with us. “He does not come with us?”
“No,” shaking his head.
We go to the first room on the left-wing of the second floor, a room that is not used and is just a mini version of the living room with a simple book with simple design in a small cabinet. I went to the terrace to open the door there as I gazed at the foggy forest in the distance.
“I will not explain to you everything about this mansion and just look at it if you want,” I said because I know he's beside me.
“My parents are both know and trusted me about this mansion.” He said.
“That’s good.”
We went out to that room, “the house seems so gloomy,” he said.
“I think it is just the weather here at Caroline that added your emotions, Mr. Da Silva.”
“I don’t think either, Ms. LeStrange because I know I’m fine and happy.”
I look at him and studied his face but he's not smiling. I wanted to laugh just to let along with his sarcastic attitude but I’m not on to social and I’m not good at it that’s why in our school I’m branded as a bitch as they say.
I didn’t add and we continue. We inspect my parents' room and every room here on the second floor until we stop to the end of right-wing. I stop and look at the door. Suddenly, I feel so small and I remember everything that happened that night. The night when my parents murdered by a monster. I feel so nervous, I can feel the cold sweat at my back, I bite my lower lips just to contain my emotion, I don’t need to show it to anyone and everything seems back to the night. I’m imagining things that I heard the loud bangs of doors and growl of monsters.
“Hey.”
“Shit.”
I flinched when someone touches my newly treated wounds in my arm. I looked at him and everything is going to normal. He looks curious while looking at me.
“Are you alright? You look pale.”
He reached his hands to my face that why I gasped of air because of surprise and he moved closer, ‘my god, what is he doing?’ I couldn’t move. His pair of blue eyes were curious.
Who is this man touching me?
I move backward just to give a space between us and his hand still in the air where my face as if still there before he let down.
“I’m fine,” my words look like not sure because my voice was trembling.
“I’m asking, why we’re not still going to that room?” He asked pointing to the most I hated room in this mansion.
“It’s nothing, we will go,” I walk and slowly open the door, my eyes were shaking and he still looking at me.
I succeed to open the door, he’s the one who enters the room first before I followed but my knees were both shaking and I saw the old cabinet. It was as if my heart was pounding slowly when I saw that old cabinet. I was more surprised when it suddenly started thundering to remind me of what happened that night. Suddenly, I saw my mother laying in front of me and my father both bathing on their own blood.
I was unable to recover and my knees eventually became weak.
Everything went black.
I wake up from the dream that the gold and black-masked man kiss me again.
When I open my eyes I saw the white ceiling of my room. Until I saw him standing to the end of my bed and I feel that I’m in the same situation before like they called it déjà vu. I sat down and were both staring with each other.
“What are you doing here inside my room?” I look at the open door and sighed of relief than back again to him.
“You were passed out for a second, I’m the one who carries you here in your room and you should thank me.”
I remembered again.
“I’m sorry and thank you. I think you should go now and continue this if you free again.”
“I’m now with the tour mansion,” he approached me and sat down to my bed near me. He reaches me a black small envelope so I took it.
“What is this?”
“It’s an invitation for the opening of the Caroline festival that will be held at the hall, you can attend there if you want, you can bring your family there, and we will continue their everything at the party, the papers, and signing”
It so fast, everything was fast but this is what I want so I could go back to Roseville City.
“Is this a formal party?”
“Yes.”
“So I need to wear formal dresses?”
“If what you want and if not you can still wear anything you won't just attend the opening.”
I nodded, “okay, thank you.”
“I go now.” He stood up and leaves me alone.
Chapter 7“This is boring,” Darius murmured beside me.When we got off the old truck, we immediately saw the guests inside the hall, dressed in formal attire and formal attire. We were just going to the party that wasn’t wearing any formal attire but there was no case for us, they gave us an invitation and it was a shame if we didn't go. Mrs. Marcos scolded again his son Darius to stop. I was only wearing a gray long sleeve dress with a length down to my knee and white snickers. Before we entered I showed the guard that guarding the gate the invitation card that Reginald had given me earlier.
Chapter 8He was as angry and desperate as the food that was before him. All of a sudden he moves and I ran to the nearby tree. Even when I was struggling I had to climb the tree, the tree was slippery and he could hardly bite my foot but it didn’t happen but he pulled my shoes. I was tired climbing the tree, I was surprised when he slammed his head into the tree and almost move the tree where am I right now. As her eyes flickered and scratched the tree with his sharp claws. I wrap my arm on to the tree.He disappeared for a few minutes under the tree until he got tired of what he was doing and returned
Chapter 9I was looking at the ceiling when I heard my cell phone ring on the nightstand next to my bed. I glanced at my cell phone when I took it, I looked at the screen and flashed the caller from the unregistered number. I think twice before I click the ‘answer’ to my phone screen and place it in my left ear. “Hello---” I didn’t finish my sentence when I heard a familiar voice to the other side of the line.“Good morning, Ms. LeStrange.”I don’
Chapter 10After talking with Reginald and signing the contract, he immediately informed me to leave and notary also needed to legalize the contract. I still have a week to get my parents' personal belongings especially some albums of pictures and I need to secure those albums because that was the only memory I had from them. Minutes later Reginald left when Mrs. Marcos arrived at the mansion. I also told them it was only a week and we had to leave the mansion and maybe I can live for a while to Mrs. Marcos residents I had to settle down before returning to Roseville City. They were a bit sad though I am
Chapter 11I did not know that I would fall asleep until I woke up to heavy rain outside. My eyes were still blinking and the headset was gone until I saw my phone is now on the floor. I think maybe I kicked it from the bed while I’m sleeping. I slowly got up, left my bed to pick up my phone on the floor I saw on the phone screen and realized it almost nine pm at night. “Shit,” murmured under my breath. I closed the two windows from my room to stop the water coming in from the outside. I got out of my room and went down to the first floor of the mansion. I saw Darius sleeping and lying to the long coach in the living room while he has an open book on his chest and his glasses were no longer in his face. I frowned that he didn't even wake me
Chapter 12We stayed in the hospital all night while watching Darius wake up. I didn't sleep much so my head hurt that morning. It was about a few minutes before Darius woke up and immediately called the doctor to see how he was doing fine. I told them I was going out of the hospital to drink coffee and eat. As soon as I left the hospital I immediately saw the small and simple coffee shop to other side of sidewalk. I had to look left and right of the road before crossing until I got to the coffee shop. I took a deep breath and there was smoke coming out of my mouth, it was cold and the dew was thick that morning. When I entered the coffee shop there was no customer but you could smell of the coffee inside and various pastries on display counter. The young man smiled at me when I entered.
Chapter 13No matter how much I insisted on Darius he never really talked about what he knew and couldn't handle myself not knowing the truth. Now that I did not force him to know, I would take action to find out and I return to the mansion immediately. The gate is closed as well as the main door of the mansion. When I entered the mansion, there was no more rubble on the first floor that happened last night and no more corpses were killed last night. I couldn't see the couple who added to my curiosity.I called them a few times and walked around the mansion but they were not there.Until I left my room and saw the envelope spread over the bed, the envelopes I saw stuck in the albums yesterday. I went to bed and sat there, I looked at the envelopes one at a time, another one that added to my questions. Eac
