The sound of the waves lapping at the boat's hull was like a calming lullaby, but Tamara was wide awake.

Two days ago, she'd been having trouble falling asleep on an expensive custom mattress. However, in this rocking boat, she felt a mysterious sense of peace.

Tamara got up and padded onto the deck. It was completely empty. The briny sea breeze swept over her as she inhaled deeply. It smelt of freedom.

Under the moonlight, the sea was an inky dark blue stretching into the distance.

Tamara suddenly recalled her honeymoon with Braxton in Mardi. They had stood just like this, shoulder-to-shoulder, admiring the sea under the night sky. Back then, Tamara thought she'd found the only happiness in her life that she was certain would last forever. Yet, it ended up as a pipe dream.

"Can't sleep?"

Tamara jumped slightly. She turned around to see Marshall leaning against the door. The moonlight illuminated his tall figure.

"Let's wait for the sunrise together."
