Dad's Duty.
After Seven Years,
I stepped out of the elevator flicking my hair over my shoulder. I walked lazily towards the direction of my office room removing my sunglasses. My secretary, Lydia came running towards me and joined beside me as I kept walking. She offered me my coffee cup but instead of accepting the cup, I pointed to the file on her hand signaling her to hand it over to me.
I opened the file and slowly ran my eyes on the first page of the document inside it as I kept walking towards my room. “This is not what I asked for.” I threw the file on my secretary’s face yelling at her in front of my employees who worked on my floor.
“Get me the right one,” I said with a glare and proceeded to my room as she ran back to her desk. When I was lost in my thoughts staring at the serene view through the glass wall from my floor, I heard the door to my office room open suddenly making my body jerk in surprise reeling my mind back to the present. Listening to the whistle sound coming from behind followed by the ‘thud’ sound of the door closing, I realized who it was without even looking back. I sighed in annoyance, “Don’t you have some basic manners to knock?” I said turning around with an annoyed look. Damon gave me a ‘are you talking to me?’ look and pretended to look around like he was searching for someone else in the room. “Why are you here?” I asked him rolling my eyes.
