The morning came and I arose from my bed.
It's time for me to get to work.
Amongst the humans, I also have my private life.
I work as a typist in a big company. Any of the articles that is expected by the company, comes from me.
Not such a great job for a luna, dad would say, but I don't need a job that would draw too much attention to me.
Although dad has tried his possible best to convince me to take charge of at least five of his companies, I prefer not to do so.
I'm more of a loner when it comes to the human world. I enjoy spending time alone rather than spending it with mere humans.
"Good morning great luna." Mother let out as i entered the living room.
"What us wrong with you? Have you forgotten that we hired humans to work for us in this house?" Dad queried mother.
"Oh, i'm sorry. I just got excited thats all. It won't repeat itself." Mother asked forgiveness from dad.
I forgot to mention this to you.
I and my parents live in a luxurious home.
My dad is a big businessman who owns multiple establishments in and out of the district.
My mother is a fashion maniac. She owns many fashion industries. I actually taken after my mother when it comes to wardrobe or dress techniques.
Not that my dad doesn't dress as good of course.
It's just that my mother is the best at making outfit choices.
"Good morning mother, good morning dad." I greeted them both.
I went down the stairs and joined them for breakfast.
When we were done eating, dad went to his company, the one he worked from.
Mother went to her industry and i went to the company i worked in.
The well being of our house now lies in the hands of the hirelings.
We always ask the hirelings to leave before night time.
It is for their safety and also to keep our identities a secret from them.
I arrived at my place of work and took my place at the typist section.
As always, all eyes fell on me.
I don't know why they never get tired of staring at me.
I have been working here for three years now. Shouldn't there at least be a change?
"Hello my stunning beauty. Did you fall from heaven? Because..." He said.
"Good morning Henry." I cut him off.
What a dumb head. He already began with his dumb pick up lines again.
"You didn't even let me wrap up my lines." He complained with a childish accent.
"I really don't have the time for this Henry." I replied.
"Just leave her be. You are very much aware that she likes to be isolated from others." Alyssa said.
Yeah, Alyssa and I, work at the exact company. We are both typist but i do the highly credited work.
I type for the company while she types for regular people who come into the company for one thing or the other.
"It doesn't mean i can't try out my chances." Henry said to Alyssa.
"It kind of does. She has been working here for three years. Doesn't that send you a summary of the whole thing?" Alyssa said.
"What summary?" Henry asked.
"Between you and Andra there is a large word." said.
"Oh yeah, and whats that?" Henry asked.
"Impossible!" Alyssa exclaimed.
Everyone present in the typist section with us burst into laughter.
Seemingly, everyone has been listening to the dialogue between them.
Henry's face became red with bitterness then he kept his cool after some seconds.
"Whatever, you are just jealous she is hotter than you." Henry answered back.
Zendeya's mood changed immediately.
I could tell that she obviously did not like his statement at all.
Everyone burst into laughter again.
"Oh, and you think so?" She said to him.
"I know so." Henry replied.
Zendeya's eyes reflected a flash of golden yellow and she clenched her fists, staring directly into his eyes.
Henry, who saw it, trembled out of uneasiness.
"Come on. Say that again. I dare you." Alyssa said.
"What's up with your eyes huh?" Henry said, with a trembling voice.
"Say that again." Alyssa repeated, but this time with a bit of growling in her voice.
I knew immediately, this is where i'm supposed to come in.
I don't think i need to.
I could hear the footsteps of our boss as he leaves his office and walks towards the typist center, where we are.
I sat back and let him come.
Alyssa must have given attention to the her surrounding quite adequately.
This is because, four seconds before he entered, Alyssa threw a book towards the door he was to pass through.
She didn't just throw a book. She did it in a way that made it look like Henry did was responsible for the suddenly flying book.
She also sped up and took her seat, pretending that nothing happened.
The book was just close enough to hit the boss but then he suddenly caught it.
I was quite surprised. It was almost as if he was a werewolf himself. But of course he isn't, werewolves could always identify themselves with a certain kind of scent.
Our boss's name is Stark. He is also a billionaire. He hates people who lazy off at work instead of doing what they are meant to be doing.
Can I mention, he has a really bad temper?
"What's happening here? Can you explain yourself Henry?" Mr Stark question.
Henry glimpsed at Alyssa and she glared at him, giving him a vicious look of, I will kill you if you speak.
Henry looked at Mr Stark and then looks to the ground.
I smiled as I start organizing some manuscripts.
"To my office now!" Mr Stark said.
Henry left for Mr Stark's office and Mr Stark gave everyone an angry look.
"I don't want what happened here to repeat itself again, understood?!" Mr Stark said.
"Yes sir." Everyone chorused.
"Good." He said and left for his office.
"I bet he is going to loose his job." Alyssa said.
"Yeah, all thanks to you." I said.
"I'm so proud of myself." Alyssa replied.
"I didn't mean that as a compliment." I said.
"I pretty much don't care." Alyssa replied.
"Don't forget who I am Alyssa." I warned.
"Oh, trust me. I will never forget." She replied.
"Haha. I didn't pick up where I left off in work, after two months, just to get fired you know? Henry just had to take the blame." Alyssa said.
I just ignored her and continued typing.
I suddenly found myself giving attention to the conversation between Henry and Mr Stark.
Remember, werewolves have super hearing abilities.
"What you did today only proved that you are not meant to work here." Mr Stark said.
"I'm sorry sir. It won't occur again. Please forgive my mistake today, please." Henry pleaded.
"I'm sorry Henry, but when I find such people among my employees I endeavor to fire them as soon as possible." Mr Stark replied.
"Please sir, please." Henry begged.
"I'm sorry about this Henry but you are fired." Mr Stark said.
"But sir..." Henry said.
"You know the way out Henry." Mr Stark said.
I heard the door to Mr Stark's office open and close.
Alyssa suddenly starts to laugh.
It's obvious she was paying attention to the whole conversation as well.
Henry has been fired, and it's all because of Alyssa.
After some minutes, Henry made it to the office.
He was in the middle of packing up his things when Alyssa moved towards him.
"Aw Henry lost his job? That's v so sad. I actually feel sorry for you. Not!" She said.
"Just stop it Alyssa." Julia, a typist as well, said.
Julia stands up and moved towards Alyssa as she speaks.
"We have had enough of you in this company. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You just got Henry fired for no just reason." Julia said.
"How is that your problem? Bitch!" Alyssa replied.
Julia walks past Alyssa and stands beside Henry.
"Don't worry Henry. There is a vacancy for a typist at my aunt's place of work. It doesn't pay as big as this one but at least it's something." Julia said.
"It's okay Julia. I already had plans to travel in the next two weeks. I'm sure I will find a job where i'm heading to." Henry responded.
"Okay, if you say so." Julia said.
"Yuck. All this warm and touchy feelings is making me nauseous." Alyssa said.
"It will always remain that way for someone like you." Julia said to Alyssa.
"Yeah. I'm not a weakling like you." Alyssa said.
"You know, sometimes you speak like you are not even human." Julia said.
"Isn't it extraordinary?" Alyssa said with a smirk.
Henry was done packing and is about to leave.
"Wait." I said.
Henry turned back.
"What is it you want Andra?" He asked.
"I wish to give you something before you leave." I said.
I pulled out a bracelet from my pocket and put it around his wrist.
"This is for good fortune." I said.
"Thanks, Andra you are the best." He said.
Henry embraced me and then Julia.
"Farewell to you all." He said.
"Goodbye." We replied.
Henry vacates the company.
After Henry left, everyone returned to what they were doing before the whole thing that had transpired. "Awfully nice for a luna aren't you? Why do to even care about the humans?" Alyssa asked. "I have been trained to be a fearless, ferocious, and dangerous killer werewolf, but that doesn't mean I should behave so towards the humans. All those traits i have been trained to possess is so i will not be seen as too vulnerable to lead the hybrid pack not to vanquish the humans." I replied. "That's nothing but cowardice if you asked me." Alyssa said. "I didn't ask you." I replied. "Whatever." Alyssa said. "I noticed that some of your werewolf traits reveals itself whenever you get angry." I said. "Yeah, so? It's my life and i will live it the way i want to." Alyssa retorted. "Judging by the fact that the secrecy of the existence of werewolves lay at risk, i don't think it's just your life Alyssa." I repli
I dragged Andra to a private corner and gave her a tight slap. I've been wanting to do that for so long. "Are you mad?! Why are you behaving so foolishly?!" Do you know that you are putting the secrecy of werewolf existence at risk?!" I yelled. "It's nice to see you can make use of your position as luna. I precisely thought you were a weakling." She said. I gave her another slap and pulled her closer to myself by the hair. "You'd better set yourself straight. Got it?!" I warned. "Yes, great luna." She answered. "What do i do about Mr Stark?" She asked. "You will do nothing." I replied. "Nothing? But, he insulted you. He ought to be punished. No one insults a luna and goes scott free, especially not a human." Alyssa said in a growling voice. "I know that very well Alyssa, but we can't hurt him just yet." I said. "And why is that? You know i can just do it for you at your command." Alyssa asked.
Everyone in the office turned and stared at me. "What are you talking about?" Alyssa asked. "Take a look at this." I said and gave the paper to Alyssa. Alyssa went silent after reading it. Julia collected the paper from Alyssa and read it as well. "This can't be. What happened to him? Who did this to him?" Julia sobbed in pain. I glared at Alyssa but stopped before anyone could notice. "How could such a nice guy face such a horrible death?" Another worker said and shook his head. One thing is for sure, this had Alyssa's name written all over it. How am i sure that she wasn't to busy attacking and then killing Henry and that is why she is coming up with these lame excuses? I would have suspected a vampire did this but that is not the way they kill humans. This is clearly the work of a werewolf. I really need some time alone to process this and come up with an answer. I am very sure
"You know very well that what happened will be spoken of in the gathering today. This is getting too much to handle." Father said. "Why the hell did you kill that human?" Mother asked furiously. "Let's just say it's all for fun. I love watching them die. I have their life right here in my grasp and I plan to dispose of it whenever I please." Vector said and laughed hysterically. "It's drawing too much attention. Do you have any idea what will be done to us if the alpha finds out we have been supplying you humans to feast from?" Father said. "I don't care what happens to you. Just make sure that i keep getting more blood supply." Vector let out. Vector's eyes turned blood red. Vector is tall and his skin complexion was pale just like every other vampire he was in charge of. Vampires had always had this believe that humans were only in existence so they can feed on their blood whenever they wished. Just like the humans do
Chapter seven (Andra disposes of her parents) They both got up and made their way to where I was and stood beside me at a little distance. "So, I have come to a conclusion and have made a decision that I would ask all of you this question. What is the best punishment for these two traitors?!" I threw a question to the pack. "Death! Death! Death! Death!" They all recited with fierce growls and howls. I felt the eyes of the alpha on me as I walked towards my parents. Mother and father bowed their heads before me. "Do as you must." Father said. "You two are a disgrace. Working for the vampires and betraying the pack. You know very well, the enmity we share with those beings." I sai
I wined up my car glass and they were forced to remove their hands. I moved through the company gates, with my car, slowly and kept pushing the horn to make them move faster away from my path. The security men at the entrance of the company stopped the press from entering the premises. I finally made it into the company but it wasn't over yet. Workers there gathered around me and started throwing questions at me. I just wish I could read minds as well so I can finally know what is really going on here. "Is it true Andra? That you are taking over your parents' businesses?" One of the workers finally asked, thereby opening my eyes to what it was all about. Finally, a clear question. How did they find out about this so soon. This is something that happened over night.
For me, vampires had always been jealous of werewolves. Werewolves could mix up with humans in the daylight but vampires can't. Vampires had always been stuck in their coffins at the rising of the sun. Another document was brought to me and I stopped my thoughts and resumed typing. Soon enough the time for closure arrived and everyone started to pack up. I decided to meet Alyssa first, since she is physically closer to me. I walked straight to her and confronted her. "Here I am Alyssa. What is it you wanted to tell me?" I asked. "Come on Andra, I agree you are a werewolf but try slowing down a bit." Alyssa said. "Just make it quick. I have somewhere else to be." I replied. "We only just closed. At least give me some time to pack up my things first." She said. &nbs
"How come you are searching for her this soon. I thought a person was considered to be missing only after twenty four hours or something of that sort." I said. "Yes, but this scene was captured on a CCTV camera." The officer said. "I guess we can show you, since you are her friend." The second officer added. They returned to my table and opened up a laptop that one of them had been holding. A video was played and I watched patiently. Alyssa was walking along the road when a car stopped beside her. A man in a black coat came down from behind her and covered her nose with a handkerchief. She passed out after so much struggling and was taken into the car. The video ended. "After that, the vehicle followed routes without CCTV cameras. We don't know what happened and we can't identify a car without a plate
