Kaiser's POV

I hated a lot of things.

I hated how the women ogled at me as I walked into the hall, I hated how cheap the wine tasted and I hated how irritating it was getting to hear him speak.

But what I hated the most, was when the moon goddess decided to make a fool of me.

She was so small, yet so fierce in a feminine way that I did not know was possible.

The minute the words left my mouth, the whole room went into an uproar, the whispers flying around so quickly it made me sick to my stomach.

But zarek still stood, his eyes in slits now as he looked at me, eyes boring into mine.

" You! Take her back to her cell" he said, signalling to one of the guards that stood nearby.

" If any one of you lay as much as a finger on her I would cut it off" i said, voice still.

I stared at karim, my beta and he nodded explicitly, his hands now guarding his sword, daring.

" I asked you to take her back to her cell!" Zarek yelled now, causing the guard to dare, his hands lifting to drag the tray out of hers.

I did not move, but karim did.

The hand came to the floor brutally with one slash, a splatter of crimson that stained my custom made pair of shoes.

I grimaced. Now I had to trash them out.

" How dare you! You come into my pack and attack my guard?! You want war kaiser! And I will give you war!" Zarek yelled.

If this charade he was putting on display was supposed to scare me, then it was not working.

" I want the girl. Anyone who touches her, will get killed. You should know me better by now. I do not mind turning this whole stupid fiasco of yours into a blood bath" I said, enjoying how the women who once ogled at me shrunk back.

Good.

His mouth flew open again but before the words of fury could leave his lips, a man walked over to where he stood, carefully whispering in his ears.

I could see his jaw tick, anger a solid emotion that dominated his face.

And finally, he sighed, pulling away from the man who disappeared back into the crowd.

" Four acres of your land at the south west borders. And 20% of your weapons" he said.

I raised an eyebrow.

" Three acres of the land and 20% of my weapons" I said.

I knew the next words that would leave his mouth before they even dropped. He was too greedy. They all were.

" Deal" he gritted out, causing me to nod.

" It's great doing business with you" I said, turning to look at the girl.

Very close to her feet was the severed hand, the blood pooling to her feet as she stared at me with disgust.

But I knew the severed hand did not irritate her. I did.

" If you have any bags to pack, go do it now. I will be outside. I don't like waiting. Don't keep me waiting." I said to her.

I hated how my wolf howled in approval when she finally let her eyes meet mine.

But while my eyes softened as they encountered her soulful blue eyes, the hatred in hers only deepened.

" I am not going anywhere with you" she stated just as I turned around to leave, causing the whole pack to now turn to stare at us, their whispers growing.

Just who did this human think she was?

I raised an eyebrow at her.

" Excuse you?" I asked.

There was no fear in her eyes, not even the slightest doubt.

" I am not going anywhere with you" she said.

Maybe it was the fact that she repeated those words, or maybe it was just how nonchalant she looked, but that sentence angered me.

" You will do exactly as I say. If you don't move, I will drag you to the car myself" I said to her.

Her eyes flickered for a minute, but it was not with doubt or fear, it was with sheer anger.

And nothing prepared me for what she did next.

No one had taken note of the small knife that laid carelessly on the table, perhaps dropped by a stupid servant.

But she had. And her thumbs were so nimble, picking it up with such quick precision, her hands angling for my neck even though I was a whole foot taller than her.

I felt the cold steel press against my neck, her breath heaving, eyes calculating as she stared at me.

Her being so close now meant I could hear her heartbeat. I could feel her scent rushing through my nostrils and destabilizing my thoughts for a whole minute.

" The human has run mad!"

" Alpha kaiser will kill her!"

The voices around did not bother to be subtle about their thoughts, if anything, they seemed more affected by the knife than I was.

I knew i was supposed to be angry. Furious even, but I wasn't.

Instead, I was amused.

I lowered my eyes to meet her own fearless ones.

" You know, it's been a very long time since anyone held a knife to my throat. No one ever got this far." I said to her.

I knew humans could not feel the sparks I felt. I knew she could not feel the effects I had on her just like my whole being was raking with desire for her.

" I will not hesitate to slit your throat " she murmured, her voice low.

I smirked.

" Do it then. Slit my throat" I said to her.

The silence was thick as everyone watched with bated breaths at the both of us. Even zarek who could not shut up a minute ago stared, eyes wide as he watched her.

But she didn't do anything. Her sweaty hands quivered as she gulped again.

I scoffed internally.

She was not that strong willed after all.

I bent to pick her up, ignoring the fact that she still had the knife and that was my flaw.

You see the thing about humans, they were backstabbers, never bold enough to do it to your face.

And that was what she did.

I felt the knife pierce into my side as I threw her over my shoulder, stunning me.

A sharp cry rang in the air from an over burdened young woman.

"Alpha kaiser is bleeding!" She yelled.

I grimaced, setting her down slowly as I stared at her, my hands touching my side and coming back with bright crimson blood that belonged to me.

Huh. It has been so long since I bled.

And the woman in charge of that did not have a single sympathy in her eyes. Instead, she stared at my hands, filled with blood, and her lips curled up into a pleasing smile.

" I told you I would stab you" she said, voice sounding so proud of herself like she has just won a lottery.

Freya's POV.Agatha was right. This place was like a minefield of bitter and angry people who tried their hardest to mask their distaste with a smile.Ray had disappeared into another room the moment I stepped into the hall, leaving me standing there, feeling less than as I walked around with the tray of drinks in my hands, trying to fit in with the other servers. But I didn't. I knew my scent was different, making me an easy prey." A human?! Zarek you really outdid yourself" one woman said as she tapped zarek on the hand happily the moment I passed. His eyes widened as he spotted me, questioning why I was out of that rotten cell and serving drinks, but I paid him no heed, the rebellious part of me enjoying the confusion in his eyes a single gave him a glass of drink, eyes mocking him."
