chapter twenty one

POV LILY

The past two weeks had been a constant torment. My mind was filled with worries, and the absence of the ring left me feeling distressed. Jennie and I had searched every corner of my room, rummaged through drawers, checked every square inch of that space, but the precious object had simply vanished.

"Have you found any clues about who might have stolen my ring?" I asked Jennie, anxious and frustrated with the situation.

She shook her head with regret, her expression mirroring my own frustration. "No, Miss... It's been two weeks now, and so far, we've got nothing. I've questioned the staff, but none of them claims to have seen the ring in your room."

My unease grew even more. The weeks of fruitless searching were beginning to weigh on me, and the fear of never recovering my ring became increasingly real.

"What worries me even more is the maid who came here that day, telling us the Alpha wanted to meet me in the courtyard," I said, my voice quivering with apprehension.
