Chapter {31} This Can't Be Right

Esthers POV; A lot of emotions stir in my guts as I look down at the papers before me. The problem is not signing them, it's the fear of what will be discovered after signing. I am scared, frustrated, hurt, tired, and for some reason, slightly irritated. I pick up the pen the lady placed on the paper and begin to go through the papers. Narrators POV; Dayo drove himself, Esther and Derrick to the nearest restaurant. He knows Esther had not had anything to eat as they set out of the house very early I'm the morning and starving a pregnant woman doesn't seem like a good idea. They are all sitted round a table and Dayo calls a waiter. He orders white rice and stew with soft drinks for all three of them. The waiter comes back with his order and lays them before each person. Narrators narrative; Derrick is sited in silence beside his sister. They are both glaring at the television but have their minds in separate places. Their father walks into the living room and furrows his brows when he finds Esther resting on her brother, and Derricks arm around her. It's been years since he saw his children this close to each other without yelling at each other, trying to show supremacy over the other, or fighting, and this seems like the perfect opportunity to tell his children what's been on his mind.
