Chapter Sixteen
I’d never heard his voice before and although it was drenched in dominance and danger, it was strangely comforting. It shouldn’t have been and I should have been petrified. I mean, I was shackled to an unknown Alpha’s bed and completely at the beast’s mercy, for Christ’s sake But my body was inexplicably drawn to him, nonetheless. I couldn’t believe that my head and my body were in a deadlocked fight against each other. I had no idea what my body was doing. I had no control over it. He was controlling me somehow. There was no way the pleasurable thoughts I had about him choking me were real. They couldn’t be. I thought about how they could have drugged me while I was knocked out. Or how I remembered them talking about witches earlier. Maybe it had something to do with that? Either way, I needed to pull myself together. His hand slid down from my face and rested on my neck for a while and didn’t flinch. I could, however, hear that his deep and laboured breaths were coming closer to me.

Chapter Seventeen
Carina peered at me like I’d lost my mind and it made her incredibly uncomfortable. She shifted around in her seat and looked as if she wanted to run away from the situation, like an animal ready to bolt down a hole to escape a predator. I needed to calm her down and make her feel safe in my company, let her know that whatever she said wouldn’t leave the room. I sat back and relaxed my posture, but it didn’t ease the tension. I decided that I needed to make myself more vulnerable than she felt and I had the perfect plan.“Carina?” She glanced up at me, clearly nervous with what I was about to ask her. “Would you possibly be able to run me a bath please?”Her eyes widened then smiled when she released the gulp of air she'd been holding in.“Of course, Aubrey. I’ll do that right away.”She practically jumped out of her chair and scurried off and into the bathroom. I could hear her turning on the taps and opening bottles and it made me curious to see what she was doing, so I stood up and

Chapter Eighteen
My eyes sprang open at his honesty and his words made my heart melt a little. Although while gazing at him, I realized that he wasn’t actually talking to me. Or if he was, he wasn’t addressing me directly.“But being a typical guy, I didn’t even bother to think of you or your feelings. I just assumed you'd want me because I’m an Alpha. Fucking idiot!”While he was having an argument with himself over by the window, I'd managed to wash and condition my hair, wash my body and even get out of the bath.“I didn’t even bother to find out if you had a boyfriend or a life you needed to get back to. I just thought you’d be happy to stay here with me. What is wrong with me?”“There is nothing wrong with you!” I shouted out, loud enough for him to hopefully hear me over his ranting. He paused while peering out of the window. “And I do want to stay here with you, as mad as that sounds...” I paused, then replied in a lower and slightly hesitant voice, “...if you’ll have me, that is.”“What?! Chapter Nineteen
While laying there, coming down from my orgasm, Jesse kept to his word. He laid beside me and swept his hand gently up and down my back. He applied just enough pressure for it not to tickle me. Occasionally, he would kiss my neck and back, and it helped me ride through my climax nicely. Once my breathing had calmed down a little, he got off of the bed, and I could hear him removing his clothes. I wished that I wasn’t wearing this damn blindfold. I wanted to see him in all his glory. I heard a belt clink, then snap, and it made me jump. I hoped to God he didn’t whip me with it, but that is exactly what he did.I moaned out in pain—that one stung a little more than I liked and I whined when the agony didn’t ease. It wasn’t like the hand slap, and it wasn’t easing into pleasure. I was about to say something, but he turned on the vibrating butt bullet and as it made my ass jiggle, the soreness in my ass cheek subsided. He climbed on top of me and yanked my hair back again, making me groan

Chapter Twenty
Agreeing to marry a complete stranger was madness, but I couldn’t deny how much of a connection we had. I also found it amazing that he didn’t want to murder my father and he seemed to want to make me happy. The fact that he was gorgeous and a successful businessman didn’t hurt either. I stood there, gazing into his deep green eyes and my heart sank when his grin began to fade. My mom cleared her throat, and I realized instantly that I’d been standing there silent for way longer than I should have been.“Yes, Jesse. It would be my honor to marry you.”As soon as the words left my lips, he shot up and scooped me into his arms. He squeezed me a little too hard and I coughed as my air supply was being cut off. He lowered me to the ground and quickly apologized,“I'm so sorry, Darlin'. I don’t realize my own strength, sometimes.”He rubbed the back of his neck and his cheeks turned a cute pink color. He was the most adorable man I’d ever met and I had a feeling that our marriage– even tho

Chapter Twenty-One
The early morning breeze teased my hair, lifting it into the air and making it dance around my face. I blew the strands away, and they tickled my nose as they flew off out of view. I lifted my head and ran my hands through my hair, holding it in place while I positioned my head back onto the grass. Laying there with my eyes closed I could hear the heavy breathing of the enormous blond wolf beside me. I couldn’t help but run my fingers through his fur. It was luxurious and as soft as silk. He almost purred at my touch and I knew it wouldn’t be long until he shifted and had his way with me. He liked coming on runs with me and especially loved fucking me beside the river. Sex out in the open was our new thing, because we never got much time alone in the pack house. While caressing his fur, I found myself drifting off to sleep, with each rhythmic touch in perfect time with his deep breaths. Before I knew it, I was out like a light. For some reason I could have sworn I was still awake, bec

Chapter Twenty-Two
After feasting on the bucks, the pack’s bellies were full and one by one they all stumbled off and found a cool bit of shade to pass out in. Jesse and I strolled off towards our favorite tree. An enormous oak tree with plenty of coverage from the afternoon sun. We shifted and Jesse sat down, resting his back against the tree’s giant trunk. I shifted and settled down on the grass, making sure to snuggle up with my husband. I’d come a long way since finding out about werewolves, seeing them naked around the town and pack house had me blushing at first and the idea of ever being naked myself around everyone was a no go. Now, I was used to it and didn’t think twice about shifting and letting it all hang out. No one batted an eyelid and to be honest, it felt quite exhilarating.Curled up in the arms of my man was the definition of home for me and while listening to the rhythmic best of his heart, it didn’t take me long to drift off to sleep. As soon as I reached my subconscious, there he w

Chapter Twenty-Three
We'd all sat back down in our chairs to process and talk over everything, but I couldn’t concentrate. The gloop from the pictures had a dreadful lingering aftertaste and I couldn’t shift it. Drink wasn’t washing it away either.“What the hell was on those pictures?” I mumbled while rapidly trying to scrape the taste off my tongue with my fingers. It wasn’t working and the group were laughing at me. All except Jesse, who was trying to remove the taste with his teeth. Arabella picked up her backpack and pulled out a water battle filled with a bright purple liquid. She stood and made her way over to us.“Drink this, it will help,” she ordered while holding out the bottle.I snatched it from her hand. The bad taste was getting worse. It wasn’t like a hot spice or anything, it was more like I’d just licked the inside of a dumpster. I flipped the top of the bottle and guzzled the purple liquid as soon as it hit the pit of my stomach, I jerked forward and threw it back up, just missing Arabe

Chapter Twenty-Four
My rumbling growl deepened as she got closer to the house and Jesse placed his hand on my shoulder, urging me to calm down. It was pointless, I was beyond furious. After I’d managed to prevent my panic attack earlier, I made Jesse mindlink the pack, letting them know that the pack house was off limits until further notice. Under no circumstances was anyone to approach the house. Therefore, she shouldn't have had any reason to be confidently sauntering towards me. But it was typical of Blair. She thought the rules didn’t apply to her because she was the Alpha's ex-girlfriend. Admittedly Jesse had allowed her to get away with more than I’d liked, but I was sure he was only doing it to make me jealous. It worked too. The woman completely grinded my gears.“Calm down, Darlin'. She’s not worth it.” Jesse mink linked me, trying his best to seem concerned, but he forgot that I could feel what he was feeling and I knew he was enjoying my anger way more than he should have been. I could feel h

Chapter Twenty-Five
He looked utterly shocked by my outburst and for good reason too. I don’t think I’d ever spoken to him like that before, but I wasn’t feeling myself. My wolf was taking over and she was fuming. I’d been one with my wolf since being turned and we'd always agreed on everything. It was like she was using my hated for Blair as a way to control me. She was feeding into my every insecurity and her voice in my head was deafening. Her thoughts, fears and anger were becoming mine and I couldn’t think straight. I grabbed the sides of my head and screamed into the air, then squatted down.“Brie? What’s happening?” Jesse called out while sprinting towards me. “Darlin’ are you okay?”My body recoiled at his touch and I scurried backwards until my back hit the wall. I slid down it and sat on the floor, burying my head in my hands. The door opened and Shana instructed the others to remain outside. Closing the door behind her, she pulled Jesse aside and whispered a list of ingredients to him. I heard
