Twenty: See you soon
Slowly, he drove. It was about seven in the evening, and I had definitely enjoyed my ride to his place. We chatted, joked, and played some crazy games. Coming here wasn't a bad choice after all.  Parking his car in the parking lot of this enormous condominium, he stepped out, jogged to my door to open it for me. "Thank you," I said to him, and waited as he spoke with the old man who had also just stepped out of his car.  Grabbing my phone, I read Bella's text message. On my way here, I had told her I would come home a bit late, and she kind of teased me when she had known it was Roy's place I was. Silly lady.  "Come on." Roy appeared in front of me, smiling. "Let's go in now." "Sure." He allowed me to walk first. Soon, we reached a glass door, tall and wide. And stepping in, we strolled into the first elevator in the reception, headed to the se

Twenty one: Enough
"Hey, guys?" Jason walked in through the already opened door. Another confusing thing was, how the heck did they know the pin to get into the building? Were they that close that they knew personal things about one another? Amy smiled, and rushed to him. "Hey, baby? How're you doing?" I looked away. This was devastating.  Only recently, Jason had told Bella he wasn't with any other lady. As well, Roy had assured me that I was the only woman in his heart. But, here they were, caught playing games. Stupid games.  "Renee." Roy held my hand. I looked at him, giving him a blank expression. "Come please. I need to explain something to you." I kept quiet, scared that I would cry if I had to speak. Well, I was one emotional person. Very little things made me cry. But, that also didn't mean I was foolish.  We walked back into the balcony. I knew Kathleen

Twenty two: Give up
Roy___ "What did your mom say?" Kathleen asked, sounding so worried.  I sipped from my wine, sighed. "She's upset." She scooted close to me, and soothed my back. When I turned to her, I smiled. "I'm so sorry, hun," she said.  "It's not a problem. I'll be fine," I assured her.  "I'm glad you will." I choked on my wine, widened my eyes. Gosh, I had totally forgotten Renee was waiting in there. Jeez, she would be upset already. I had told her to wait for a while, but I had spent over an hour speaking to my angry mom.  "Oh, jeez." I hopped from the couch, put my glass on the small stool in front of me. "Where's Renee? I totally forgot she's here?" Kath scoffed. I knew she didn't like Renee so much, so I expected that. "I don't know," she said. "She's probably in the living

Twenty three: Ready
The stench of a burning substance made my nose scrunch. I sat up, rubbed my knuckles against my sleepy eyes, too lazy to get up from bed.  "What the heck is that?" I murmured, my eyes slowly opening.  My eyes caught Barb. She was on her bed, glaring at herself. "It's your butt that's smelling. Virg fried it while you were asleep." "Huh?" I furrowed my eyes at her. Just about to say something, Virg slammed the door of the bathroom, stormed to her bed. "What's going on?" I asked further . "Um, someone just burned breakfast." She glared at Barb, and dropped her butt on her bed. "And now, we've got nothing to eat. We're helpless." "I said I'm sorry!" Barb whined. "I had a phone call, so it's not like I did it on purpose." Virg rolled her eyes, walked to her bedside table, and hissed when she grabbed her purse. "Alright, let's get pizza," she suggested.&

Twenty four: Dance
Bella____ I didn't know how it happened, but I had agreed to talk with Jason. Did he use charm on me? It was six in the evening already. After Renee had left, I had also left the dorm in order to prevent speaking with him. But when I had returned, I had seen him sitting on the balcony. It got me quite flustered, but what could I do? It seemed like he was more than willing to speak with me.  We had been staying here for about five minutes already. Silence was the only thing that moved around us. The sky was getting dark, and the city was calm and boring.  He stared at the view through the balcony, his hands in the pocket of his track pants. Did he wear a tracksuit because I was also in that? Had he been stalking me? I glared at him, so enraged. I was particularly angry because he looked so handsome. A cheat like him deserved to be so ugly. His brown hair ought to

Twenty-five: Lovers
We hadn't spoken with each other yet. After I had offered to dance, which was crazy, he had asked me to come into his condo. As soon as I did, he went somewhere, and still hadn't returned even after twenty three minutes.  Okay, I had to work tonight. And if he wasn't ready to talk with me, it was better I returned home, and gave him some time alone. He was probably not in the mood to have anyone around.  I took my phone from the couch. One hour left before I would go to work. I couldn't wait any longer. It was time to leave.  I was upset, but I didn't change my mind. Wasting my time here wasn't a good idea. I had too many things to do. My exams, my work, my family, all those could help me get rid of thinking about him.  Standing in front of the tall door, ready to leave, I groaned at myself. Shit, how would I open this door? I didn't know the code, and I also didn't have access to

Twenty six: Mine
The last two weeks had been quite stressful for me. I was working, at the same time reading for my exams, also trying to balance my relationship with Roy. Roy had said he was fine with me having to work a lot, but I didn't want to make the same mistake I had made in my last relationship. No matter how large the workforce was, I was going to balance it all.  Walking into my room, I shut the door behind me. About to sit for a while, my phone rang. Seeing it was mom, I smiled.  "Hi beautiful momma," I greeted her.  She chuckled. "Silly. How're you doing?" "I'm good." I propped my butt on the bed, exhaled. "I'm just kind of bulked with so much to do." "I'm sorry for that. When are you gonna come home?" She asked.  I sucked my teeth. "Um, I'll finish my exams soon. Don't worry about that. I'll let you know when I'll return."

Twenty seven: Hands up
"And that was how it happened." Roy intertwined our fingers together, smiled widely.  We were walking down the silent road, heading somewhere. Our date had lasted about an hour already. After he had parked his bike close to a coffee shop, he had asked us to stroll to where he was taking me to.  "I love these earrings." I smiled as I told him that. He had bought it for me, and I loved it! It was gold and it looked quite expensive. I didn't appreciate expensive things, but I liked that this one was from him.  He stopped walking, and I did the same. About to turn to him, he hurried to stand in front of me. As he did so, he grinned. I was confused by that, but I said nothing. Could he be checking me out? He hadn't complimented my looks, and I was surely still expecting him to talk about it.  "What?" My eyebrow quirked. He narrowed his eyes at me. "There's somethin

Twenty eight: Crazy
I was getting too fearful. My hands were up, but the officer wasn't saying anything further. What had we done? Did we look like criminals or what?  "Sir, what's our offense?" Roy demanded. What a relief.  The officer stepped even closer. "Someone reported the sale of drugs in this place." "Sir!" The shop owner cried as she rushed to him. "That's not true. This is my restaurant, and I can assure you that nothing of such exists here." "Really?" He glared at her, a ugly simper on his ugly lips. I hated him already, even though I wasn't sure why. "Alright then. When the police are done searching here, we'll know the truth to that." "But there's—" "Do not argue with an officer." He pointed his baton at her, seeming quite flustered. What was wrong with this oldie? "If you aren't guilty, then you should keep quiet." I turned to R

Twenty nine: Commotion
"So boring," I grumbled at myself, hit my head against the desk in front of me, exhaled hard.  This was tiresome; studying. For the first time in a long time, I was tired of studying. My exam was going to be at eight tomorrow morning, so I had to study, but no, my brain wasn't grasping the content of this textbook.  Of course, I had studied before, but revising was the problem. Was I supposed to go back home, and take a long, nice sleep now? I guessed I should visit the restroom first.  Standing up, heading to the restroom, my eyes caught Virg. She was seated by the other side of the library, and gosh, she was wearing a blue wig, make up on her face, also not wearing her glasses. Seriously? What was with this lady?  I gaped, speechless. I had seen her crying, I had seen her with a boy, and she had recently been acting so weird. I was worried about all this, and the problem was I c
