Chapter 30
GRACE We walked silently to the park. Darkness bathed us in all its glory. The moon was barely out; a little crescent lighting up the night sky with clusters of stars surrounding it. The sight would have been beautiful if my anxiety gave me a break to appreciate it. The streets were dimly lit with yellow hues of the lamp posts which helped guide us to our destination.Warm wind whipped through my hair, igniting the fire of my anxiety further. The prickles of goosebumps that coated my skin were simply something I had no control over. It wasn't only the thought of visiting the spot Sydney was taken that daunted me. No, it was meeting someone from the pack with unique abilities that werewolves didn't generally have that creeped the shit out of me.It made me wonder how strong the Green Forest pack actually was; not just in numbers. Now, I was expected to rule this pack alongside their alpha and the thought i

Chapter 31
GRACEAfter training this morning, I had to face a two and a half hour trip back to the Silver Dawn Pack. Silas and I were in his blacked out SUV while Kyrah and Xander followed closely behind. It would have made sense to just take one car, however, Silas wanted to be alone with me so we could discuss things further.Xander left our home last night as soon as he pitched us his idea. The plan didn't sit well with Silas but I was determined on executing it. There wasn't going to be any flirting or what not involved. The wolves guarding the house were shit scared of their alpha and now that I carried his mark, they would down right refuse any of my advances. That would make getting comfortable with them a little harder but I knew I could do it. Plucking the bad apple from the bunch would be easy. All I had to do was turn on my charm.I missed Monica. If I had been in contact with her, if she knew half the shi

GRACE"Are you certain?" Gino asked, taking a swig of his beer, "I mean, I met the guy a few times. He was a total dick each of those times but he doesn't seem like the type to kidnap Monica. How would he even know that she's a werewolf?" His face contorted in confusion which sort of made him look constipated.I could hear Xander stifling his bubbling laugh but failing to do so. He stood at the threshold of the sitting area in the pack house. Alpha Rykes had some pack business to take care of and dismissed himself. Kyrah and Luna Aphrodite had left to catch up, leaving Silas, Xander, and myself to our own vices. The two men followed me back to the pack house where I found Gino. He was on his way to pick Cassidy, his mate, up from school. Thankfully, Silas had someone else pick her up so I could speak to Gino. Gino accompanied Monica wherever I wouldn't go. Mainly to the tracks were she'd race.

Chapter 33
SILAS She refused to speak to me. The entire drive was spent in silence, with her staring out the window. It wasn't an awkward silence but it was a silence I wished to eliminate nonetheless. I ended up taking out my frustration on the steering wheel; gripping it with all my might. If I didn't let lose soon, it would probably snap under the pressure.I followed Gino who had my sister and Xander with him in his jeep. There was a part of me that was beginning to warm up to the kid. He knew that Grace and I needed to talk things out so he made sure to remove my Beta from the equation. Kind of felt like I owed him one now.Grace began humming along to a song on playing in the car. At first, I didn't recognize the song but as the chorus hit, I realized that it was Unstoppable by Sia. The song suited Grace. She truly was unstoppable. Through all the bad shit that seemed to happen to her, she still found a

Chapter 34
***TRIGGER WARNING: Expicit sexual content ahead. Carry on at own risk. GRACE We arrived home a little past midnight. Silas got out of the SUV, slammed the door shut, and made his way into the house with me following silently behind. Being an alpha, his jealousy was something that exceeded most wolves. It was in his nature to fight and protect what he claimed as his; that, unfortunately, included me.But what I did had to be done. I learnt that Darius was far smarter than he looked and very much so cunning. He had a mask of ignorance placed on his face the entire night, even when he attempted to flirt with me and get me to ride with him. If I got onto that motorcycle, I knew I wouldn't have seen the finish line. He would, probably, abducted me the way he had done Monica or just attempted to kill me on the spot, to hell with the consequences.Darius' words played in my head on repeat.

Chapter 35
GRACEI awoke feeling way too hot than I should have. Reluctantly peeling my eyes open, everything seemed to be a blur. Blinking a few times allowed my eyes to focus. I found half of Silas' body sprawled on top of me, smothering me. The bright rays of sunlight that poured into the room from the floor to sealing window gave me no reprieve from the heat — matter of fact, it made it much worse.Silas was still in a deep sleep, soft purr like snores leaving his plush lips. His chocolate strands spilled over his forehead, obscuring his eyes. A small smile formed on my face as I watched him sleep. He looked so at ease, the most peaceful I had ever seen him. Stubble coated his face, poking into the soft skin of my chest. His position looked very uncomfortable but it gave me a wonderful view.My eyes traced the valley of muscles on his back, the tanned skin teasing me. I paused when I caught the sight of his

Chapter 36
GRACETraining this morning was canceled. My body held bluish-purple bruises and there was a discomfort between my legs. Silas felt bad after seeing the damage he had done but I assured him that I was perfectly fine. By midday I would have been fully healed. It wasn't as if I hadn't enjoyed what happened between us last night. Being with him was exhilarating. After we had a shower and he made breakfast for us, we waited for Xander. Silas grew distant, putting up a mental block so I couldn't intrude on his thoughts or speak to him via the mind link. I already knew why he was giving me the cold shoulder. He didn't believe me when I said I was okay. He regretted being so rough and didn't believe me when I said I actually enjoyed it.We were sitting in his office, him behind his desk and me curled up on a couch reading one of the many books that sat on his shelves. He had gotten a new desk after the last time

Chapter 37
GRACE Sydney nodded her head vigorously before skipping away with her bucket and spades to build that sand castle. The smirk on Silas' face morphed into a cheesy grin. Rays of sunlight bounced of his white teeth and for a second, he almost looked like an anime character with twinkling teeth. He started with lathering sun screen on my arms. His rough hands had a soft touch to them as they caressed my skin. He then moved to my stomach, purposely running a finger down to the hem of my shorts. A moan threatened to leave my lips to which I covered up with a cough.Silas bit back a laugh by gnawing at his bottom lip, "Turn," he said, gesturing for me to do so by circling his index finger in the air.I turned so that my back faced him and my eyes were watching Sydney play in the sand. She had already constructed three castles and was now creating what I assumed was a wall around them. I ad

Chapter 38
GRACEEverything fell back into routine this morning. I woke up at the crack of dawn and got myself ready for training. Silas had walked me over to the pack house, except this time he didn't stick around for training. He headed inside to his office to complete pack business and investigate the murders further. After Monica had been taken, the murders had stopped. The person, be it Darius or someone else, didn't feel the need to send me messages anymore by leaving dead bodies. Their point was coming across loud and clear with them having my best friend in captivity. However, I wasn't sure what they wanted from me anymore. I couldn't leave Silas, not with the mate bond finally being complete. Even if I did leave him, it would shatter both of us and I wasn't willing to put his life at risk. He was the only parent to a brilliant and gorgeous little girl who needed him.I decided to file those thoughts for late

Chapter 39
MONICAI had never given much thought to how I would die. Living in the moment was something I did best. From a young age, that had always been the way I lived my life. When my parents died, I only enforced that principal further. Life was too short to be regretting stupid shit.I lived for the adrenaline, for the danger, for the thrill that came with the concept of life itself. Trust never came easy, but really, trust never came easy to anyone. I was just one of those people who chose to ignore the sketchy signs because living my life with no rules and restrictions meant so much to me. The only person's command I would ever obey was my Alpha's and that was only because I had to submit. Going against him would force me to live a life as a rogue and rogues didn't fare well.Regrets! I thought I lived my life with no regrets but sitting in the small six by four cell, hands cuffed above my head with silver cuffs
