Chapter 41
Diya “I couldn't believe it when Filip said you were here. I thought something happened.” Ruby chewed her lip, looking away. “I mean, after everything that happened. You disappearing. I thought Ace might have done something to you.”  “A lot happened. I decided to come back, but then I was taken,” I shrugged, “Honestly, I don’t want to talk about me. What happened? The dress looks nice,” I said, looking at her as we moved to sit on the bed. “I know. I was getting married actually,” she looked down, embarrassed. “What?” my mouth dropped. “Ru, why are you here? Are you married? Who is he? I can’t believe you found someone,” I smiled as I waited for her to respond. “Well, the wedding didn’t happen,” she said, not disappointed. “I was about t

Chapter 42
Filip “Are you done daydreaming about Ruby?” Ace scowled, looking unimpressed. I was sitting across from Ace with a smile forming at the corners of my face. Ruby didn't know how to think or breathe when she saw me. It was exciting to hear such words considering that with me she hardly spoke about her feelings with me. I might have a weird way of showing I care, but I loved that girl. “Are you seriously still doubting Diya? After hearing all that?” I asked. "Yes." I rubbed my chin, leaning back in my seat. I shook my head at him. I will not let his bad mood spoil mine. Ruby didn’t exactly say it, but she loved me. I smiled again. Ruby was in love with me.

Chapter 43
Ruby “I’m okay. I’m fine,” I said, slumping on the bed. Filip and I were nothing to each other. He was free to do whatever he wanted.  “Ru,” Diya came and rubbed the side of my shoulders. “We are not together, D. I was going to marry someone. I mean, the reason I came was for you. Not him,” I harshly wiped a tear away. "I don't care, I'm not bothered." “Come on, we both know that’s not true,” she said. “It is,” I pouted. “I don’t care if he is with someone else. I'm fine. He can do whatever he wants.” I ran my fingers through my hair with my fingers. “Ruby,” Diya called, "It's okay to be jealous." "I. Am. NOT!" I huffed.

Chapter 44
Diya I made my way around the house in the meantime. Letting Filip and Ruby talk. I really hoped they resolved their issues. I hope Filip does right by her. I had a hunch. They were going to end up together. Filip is genuine if he is not killing or doing whatever.  Jesus. It was still wrong what they were doing and there was no way I would justify that. I would not let my husband’s business invade my thoughts. It was his business. I wanted no part in it. “Can we talk?” Ace suddenly was in front of me and pulled me to walk with him. "What are you doing? Stop. I don't want to speak to you. Le me go." "We have to talk." he replied. “Do you have to pull me?” I yanked my hand away. "Have some dec

Chapter 45
Ace It was as if Diya and I were going in circles, but I cut the rope and lay some ground rules. The ball was in her court. I did not have time to worry about her running off with another man this time. If she wanted to be with him, so be it. She was more that welcome to leave. She can go elsewhere, not anywhere near me or Theo. Theo was going to need all our attention, not half measures. My grandfather’s words wormed their way into my head. What kind of man was I? Why did I hurt Diya? What have I done so far to get Theo back? Are you going to let people walk over you like this? Is the empire getting too big for you or maybe you have gotten weak? I was not someone who got walked all over by people. I was not weak. I scoffe

Chapter 46
Diya “What are you talking about?” I frowned, looking at Ace as he pointed a finger at me. “Ace,” Filip sighed, rubbing his hand on his temple. “You know exactly what I am talking about, Diya,” Ace accused, looking at me. “Are you trying to say that I did this?” I looked at him in horror and shock at his accusation. “That’s exactly what I’m trying to say,” he confirmed it as he looked at me, his face cold. “Wow. I can't deal with this?” I threw my hand up in the air. “You know what? I have had it with you. I am done, Ace, DONE,” I said, walking out. “Where the hell are you going?” he asked me. “As far aw

Ruby I was never going to shoot him, but he shot Filip. After the gun sounded, I felt as if I was paralyzed and shocked. Tears were coming from my eyes, but I couldn't speak. It was as if my voice had been blocked. Ace and Filip seemed casual about it. “Ace would have killed you for pointing a gun at him. You literally declared war on him,” Filip said. "This is him being lenient." he groaned. “Now that’s settled. I think you need to get ready before the police arrive. Get someone to clean this mess,” Ace walked away. I was sure I didn’t want to be in this house anymore. If what Filip said was true, that would mean he would have killed me. I tried to open my mouth so I could try to speak but nothing came. I was petrified of Ace. I don't no energy to be around here.

Chapter 48
Matt I just knew something had happened when I tried to call Diya earlier and her phone kept ringing with no response. When she had eventually answered, I could tell something was off. I was trying to be calm and understanding, but I needed to know what was going on. I wasn’t sure what was happening and not knowing was driving me insane more. I heard footsteps and quickly placed my phone down. “Hey,” Elisa said, chirpier than normal. “Someone sounds happy,” I said, looking at her. "I know it's not me who is responsible for that cheery mood, but I like it."  “Why wouldn’t I be happy? Our plans are going well. I am happy, everyone is happy,“ She shrugged, taking a seat across from me on the desk. “You are happier than usual today.” I smile

Chapter 49
Ace My wife was going to jail, and I didn't care. I could have helped, but I let the police take her. I was fed up. People were walking all over me. I was tired of it all. The Romanos were with my son. Ruby pulled a gun at me. Then there was Diya, always challenging me at every turn. Everyone was testing my patience that was running thin.  “Are you sure you want her taken?” Filip asked.  “Did I stutter the last time? Do you see me moving to help her?” I replied, looking at the officer with Diya in cuffs. "I don't care what happens to her." "Diya is innocent. Why are you punishing her?" Filip stared at me. “You said you would fix this.” Ruby walked to where we were. "You were going to help her earlier."

Chapter 50
Diya When the police came and took me, I was tired. I knew I was innocent. Screaming or shouting was going to stop them from taking me. I would waste energy trying to get my husband to rescue me. He had shown me he wanted me to suffer. I had prayed that I would be proven innocent and my prayer was answered. I got help from the person I didn’t expect, but I took the help. “Do you need anything?” my mom asked as we got into her house. “No, thanks,” I shook my head, looking around. The apartment was clean and tiny. Everything seemed in place and the picture I had in my head was not the same. When Ace was telling me about her drug use, I thought she would have the worst living condition. I had misjudged her too quickly. “Sit,” she said, fixing the couch, looking nervous. "Unless you want to stand. That's fine too." “Oh,” I pursed my lips as I went and sat down. I had nothing to say and part of it was guilt for chasing her away. I reacted harshly to her and it was something I needed t
