Silas was quickly gaining ground on them. He was only a few hundred metres from the rear of the closest vampire who was struggling to get away from death that was on his heels. As long as they kept running Silas knew he had a good chance of killing many of them as far as Dracula himself. He was so distracted by his desire to catch up with them that he didn't realise he had run into a vampire's snare.  Dracula had formed a sort of semi circle that allowed the hybrid to come in before the circle was fully closed, trapping him inside and then the real battle could begin. Silas was closing in one the vampires when he suddenly realized he had walked into an ambush.
