Chapter 41
The bus trip out of the city was relatively peaceful. Mildred had gradually caused the mist to disappear and so the driver could easily drive his bus through the road.  Silas was calm now but Mildred still ensured he could not perceive any smell just in case the incident that happened the previous time happened again.  She thought about what all the blood she saw on the ground could mean. She knew it was deliberately poured all over but how they did it in the daytime without arousing the attention of people made her surprised. "It almost worked", she thought to herself.  Silas was wide awake all through the journey, he kept his eyes peeled on the road through the window for a possible danger. He still

Silas had waited properly until it was dark outside, the time was now 8 PM and it was time he left. "I'll be heading out now", he said to Mildred who was carefully looking outside the window for any sign of strange movements.  "Okay Silas, the coast is clear", she said, turning to face him. Silas walked towards her and planted a kiss on her lips. "Don't worry, it will all be fine dear", he said with a smile. She smiled back at him, she felt so too. "You can go", she said. "Thank you, I appreciate all you do for me", Silas said, as he

Chapter 43
Mildred held Silas in her arms as she wailed his death in anguish. It was really touching sight to behold. In the moment he died, the truth potion he shared with her expired and her sense of loyalty to him ended but the love she had for him was unchanged and she wept bitterly for him. In her sorrow she made the heavens open and it started to rain. Just she and Silas laid on the empty street as it rained poured.***Dracula could hear the sound of a vampire's death cry but this pleased him alot. To hear the death cry he had wished and worked for so long was very satisfying.  "Ha ha ha ha!", he laughed out loud and he stood up from his lofty throne and spoke into the almost empty hall with only his human male servant; James, there with him.

Chapter 44
Mildred was now awake but she found herself in a new surrounding, in a familiar home - the home of Alpha White. She rolled on her side on the bed, she must have fallen into deep sleep as the time was almost midday. She wasn't used to sleeping alone, she always had Silas to keep her company at night. "Where is he?" She thought, sitting up on her bed. "Hello Mildred", Alpha White's familiar voice called her from the back. He didn't call her in such a way so as to startle her. She turned to face him. He had a broken look on his face but still managed to wear a smile for her. "Alpha White, it's good to

Chapter 45
PRESENT DAY It was morning already. The longest night ever had passed. Nicole had imagined it wouldn't. The thunderstorm of the previous night had raged so much, it threatened to make her deaf. She had much more sensitive hearing than humans. Angela had slept beside her to keep her company and safe. She was still sound asleep at a corner of the bed, as Nicole sat up on the bed. Charles had slept off on the one seater couch in the room. It seems only she managed to stay awake throughout last night. She guessed it was because a part of her heart was outside, wondering where Lucas was and whether he was safe. Nicole quietly got out of bed not to disturb the sleeping duel. She tipped toed into the passageway and into th

It didn't take more than a few seconds before Nicole opened the door. She was excited to see him, glad he came to see her so early in the day, he usually came in the night. She flung herself at him as soon as he walked in. "It's a pleasant surprise to see you, Lucas", she said happily. Lucas was also happy to see her, he held her tightly in his arms. He was glad she wasn't hurt from last night's thunderstorm. "I came as soon as I could", he said, as slowly let her down on her feet. "I'm glad you came", she said. It appeared she was getting bored on her own despite having Angela and Charles around.

FLASH BACK "Run!", one of the vampire originals called out, as Silas; the Alpha hybrid ambushed them. He knew he was already a gunner as he accepted his fate with tears. "Please Silas, please!" He pleaded but Silas was a ghost of his former self. He barely spoke, barely showed any emotion at all. He was simply a killing machine for the witch and the werewolves.  It has been 2 months since he unleashed his terror on the vampire hierarchy.  He had started hunting vampire originals close to Dracula's lair, hiding in the shadows. He had killed over a hundred of them in just 2 months and this vampire would be his next victim.  Silas sliced him ope

PRESENT DAY They encountered a fallen tree on their part and needed to scale through. Lucas easily picked her up with both hands, like Nicole supported her arms around his neck as he gently climbed over the tree. "Here you go", he said gently, putting her feet back on the ground. It was fun, him carrying her like that, it rang wedding bells in her ears but she quickly had to pay attention to what he was saying. "You feel right in my arms", he said, complimenting her. Nicole laughed. That was unexpected.  "Thank you", she said. They had gotten to an empty bus stop where Lucas wanted Nicole to r

Chapter 49
It was now evening and the time had arrived for Alpha White and his werewolf park to bury their dead loved ones.  Mildred was standing with the rest of the werewolves as Alpha White stood before them to address them. "Tonight, we commit back to the earth our fallen heroes. They were our brothers and sisters,  husbands and wives, fathers and mothers. They were our family". "Their deaths were not in vain. Because of their brave acts many of us are still alivetoday and for their great sacrifice, we honor them by paying them our last respect", Alpha White said. It was a time for sober reflection as each werewolf lowered the bodies of their dead into their grave. After they were done and the bodies were covered with sand, A

Chapter 50
Mark and Andrew had been waiting for Lucas at their apartment for hours. They couldn't believe he would take as long as he did. They had got busy with doing other stuff they loved doing but they were also looking out for his arrival. They soon heard the door of the apartment open, as someone from the outside with the apartment key unlocked it open. They knew it was Lucas and they stopped the video game they were playing to welcome him while still seated. "Hello Mark and Andrew", Lucas said as he walked in. He could tell they really wanted to know what he had been doing all day and where he was coming from. "You took a long time scouting around today, hope you found the bounty?", Mark asked. Lucas looked at him and s
