Making it back to the doctor's in record time, the first thing he asks before getting him out is, "Is He Dead?"  When I say, "I don't think so." He hurriedly opens the car door and carefully checks him over before removing him.   For the next several hours while the doctor operates, everyone stands around not knowing what to do.  One of the senior beta's walk up to me and expresses his concerns.  He says, "If he dies, there will be a huge fight and you had better leave unless you are strong enough to stand your ground.  Usually when another Alpha gains control, he either takes the luna for his own or more likely kills her.  I have even seen where he banishes her from the pack for fear that she would create dissension among the remaining pack members." "Hold that thought."  I say before getting up to answer the door.When I open it, Janessa is standing in front of me with two of the pups, Rydell and Julian.  "These two want to ask you something."  She smiles and right away looks concerned when she realizes she must have woke up Alpha Eric.I crouch down and ask, "What's on your minds?"The tallest one Julian who surely must be 10 or so, says, "We want to make sure the Alpha is O.K., we had heard that he was hurt really bad and almost died."Smiling, I wave them in and tell Janessa, "It's O.k., he just woke up so they didn't disturb him."Both of them climb up on the bed and surround Eric asking, "Does it still hurt?"  and "Can we see it?"He slides his shirt off and shows them where the stitches are and they get really close to examine it.  "Wow, I bet that's going to leave a scar."  Rydell says before they get back off the bed and run to Janessa's side. 

When I come to, the first thing I hear is Eric's voice.  Sounding irritable, he says, "Bring that over here.  That way when she wakes up, she can be comfortable." Opening my eyes, I glance up at Toby and William carrying a new four post bed made of mahogany wood, over to where the old one was.  It even has a canopy, unlike the old one.  Eric's voice thunders over the sound of everything else going on, "Not there, over there."  He points in the other corner.   The minute Eric notices that I'm awake, he rushes over and asks, "Do you know what happened?  I came back from the initiations and found you along the path to the house, unconscious.  You slept through all the rest of the day and this morning.  I even had doc come over and look at you."
