Chapter 21
HarleyThe ride out to the Green Valley Pack was brutally long. Although just a few hours away, the drive felt as if it was going on for an eternity. And, having Anders sitting next to me, holding my hand, rubbing my thigh, and otherwise touching me, was not helping the situation. The mate bond was an interesting and intoxicating thing. I had never been so turned on and felt so close to someone in my entire life. It was an amazing feeling. It was somewhat strange to feel an instant connection to someone, but that was how this worked. Once you met your Goddess given mate and the mate bond snapped into place, it was as if you feel instantly madly and deeply in love.Of course, that didn’t mean that it always worked out as one would hope, but that was rare. Sometimes, it took some time for the mate bond to really take hold due to significant differe

Chapter 22
Harley“I have alerted the patrol that Coral is here and that she will be leaving with us shortly.” Anders stated as he came up to stand behind me. He placed his hands on my shoulders and I put my head on his chest. “As soon as her wolf is back, we will leave.” Raina replied, turning back towards Coral. “Let us know if you feel anything.” I looked up at the clock. It has been about an hour and a half. Senna had taken over two hours to return, so I knew that this could not be rushed. “It started off as a whisper for me but I couldn’t make it out. Then suddenly, she rushed back and I had her back completely. I am sure it is different for everyone.” I took Coral’s hand. There was a lot of tension in the air, each of us concerned with Coral’s

Chapter 22
AndersGrey was on edge the entire ride back to the Red Moon Pack. The feeling didn’t subside even after an enjoyable night with Harley after getting back. The looming threat was nagging at me. It felt like there was a piece missing, but I wasn’t sure what it was. I was usually good about picking up on the clues in these types of situations and my gut feelings were almost always right. My dad had taught me to trust my instinct, but this situation felt as if there was too much unknown. We had no information about the threat, just that there was one. I wasn’t sure if they would be attacking or just trying to kidnap Coral, and all of it was pissing me off.I sat in my office, waiting for my Beta and Harley to come to the office so we could discuss what we knew, which wasn’t much of anything.

Chapter 23
Harley“Are you sure you are good with the Luna Ceremony being tonight? I know that you just got back and I don’t want to rush it.” I mindlessly played with the cut on my hand as I spoke with Coral. After Jason had reached out to Anders to let him know about the rogue threat, Anders insisted on completing the ritual to have me officially join the pack so he could mindlink me. The cut was nearly healed, and the only reason I agreed to do it was because I knew I would still be able to communicate with Coral because of the guardian wolf connection. Otherwise, I would have lost my ability to communicate with her. Coral placed her hand on my shoulder, squeezing it gently. “I am positive, Harley. Working with Raina, Cammie, and the other red wolves has been so helpful. I know that there is still a lot to work through, but I am a

Anders“Damn it!” I yelled, cursing mostly myself for not picking up on the fact that Adam was from the Silver Springs Pack. While I knew that my mom was busy and waiting until after the Luna Ceremony made the most sense for talking to the new guardian wolf, Grey wanted us to talk to him now. I could feel the guardian wolf and we had a connection, so I did not doubt that Adam was a guardian wolf. What concerned me was the fact that he came from the Silver Springs Pack. He would have had to tell Alpha Carlson why he was leaving, which meant that Coral’s location was now known. I did not doubt our security or ability to protect the red wolves, but I was still concerned about the threat. There were always holes in even the best security system. “Neil, can you please come to my office

Chapter 25
HarleyThe last two hours had been intense. Hair and makeup were done. My hair had been easy. The sides were pulled back after my hair was curled. I loved how it flowed down my back, especially since the back of the dress was open. The makeup, however, was a whole other story. Lizzie wanted to do a smokey eye, but I thought it was too dark. I don’t wear a lot of makeup, so everything she was doing seemed so dark. I ultimately agreed to a palate that included more neutral colors, but still had enough of a deep color to satisfy Lizzie. That woman was intense. She was very much focused on ensuring that my hair and makeup were perfect. She was quite passionate about all of it. And wow, did she like to be loud. Everything she did was loud.I stood in front of the mirror, looking at myself as I was ready for t

Chapter 26
Harley “I want to see the security footage from inside the compound. Duncan,” Anders turned to speak, but Duncan cut him off.“I have a team ready to go. We are leaving immediately. Let me know if there is anything useful from the footage. Join us afterwards.” Duncan’s face held his anger and frustration. I knew that security was tight around the compound and Anders had spoken about recent and ongoing upgrades to security. “It had to be witches,” Raina spoke from behind us. “If the cameras didn’t pick up anything and none of the patrols saw anyone cross the pack border, then they had to be cloaked or masked somehow.”“There are witch enchantments around specific buildings in both packs and the

Chapter 27
Anders It was late as we made our way to the Silver Springs Pack. Conversations with Delta Jeremy proved to be quite insightful and he seemed more than willing to help us out. I was not so naive to believe that the Delta might not be honest with me, but I did trust Harley’s judgment of him.  Harley. I was disappointed that the celebration had been cut short. Grey was disappointed that the office mating process had not been completed, but the thought of fighting had changed his tune. He was still grumbling, but I promised him that I would shift and that seemed to appease him.  Neil’s phone ringing pulled me from my thoughts. He turned, handing me the phone. “The Delta is on the phone.”  “Delta Jeremy. How

Chapter 28
Harley“I think I can hear you. I am just east of where you are. If you keep moving,” I was cut off from Anders as I was hit from the side. ‘Jefferson,’ Senna seethed. I rolled from the hit, finding my footing about ten feet away from where I was hit. I looked over at the Beta, a feeling of disdain running through me. When I was forced to be an omega, I hated the pack and I hated the Beta, but now that Senna was present, the feeling was magnified one hundred fold. I did not doubt that I would do anything that I needed to protect myself. “Harlow. Nice to see you again. Although I will say, I wish that it was different circumstances.” Jefferson took a step towards me and a deep growl escaped my lips, Senna hanging just below the surface.

Chapter 29
Harley“Everything okay?” Raina asked after we had been driving for several minutes. I had not spoken since entering the car, aside from asking Talia how she was feeling. While I knew that, deep down, Anders was simply looking out for my wellbeing, the fact that he even thought of using an Alpha tone on me was beyond insulting. I know that Alphas do use it. Hell, I knew that Anders used it when Caroline was in his office and wouldn’t leave. That didn’t mean, however, that he had any right to use it with me. Senna was seething. We were Anders’ mate. His partner. His Luna.  All of this made us equals. I shook my head as Senna continued to go on and on about how pissed off she was and how pissed off I should be. I was pissed off, but Senna continually going on and on about it was nearly maddening. I just wanted to sit and t
