Chapter Thirty Nine
Chapter Thirty Nine** A few weeks later **Life had been quite uneventful recently, which was nice. Not having something to worry about, or some drama to fret over was really good. I was starting to feel better about myself too. It really seemed like everyone had settled back into the school routine and summer was just memories now.  I hadn’t really even spoken to Toby and only seen him at school. It felt weird, having so close on a daily basis but not really speaking to him, but he was giving me the space he told me he would give me, so I couldn’t complain about that. I had my head down, carrying in with the work Toby had set for the class, but Sophie kept nudging me. I tried to ignore it as much as I could but it was really starting to bug me.

Chapter Forty
Chapter Forty Sitting in the waiting room, I waited to be called in for my appointment. Apart from the receptionist, who sat, typing away rather loudly, behind her desk, I was the only person waiting in here. I looked down at the table, to see if there was anything worth reading, but it was just the same magazine that had been here for the past few weeks… and about a year out of date. I kept my jacket on, for whatever reason, my therapist liked to keep the place cold, which wasn’t the nicest. I started bouncing my leg, nervously. I always felt nervous coming here, like I was opening myself up in a really intimate way… I guess in a way, I was. I heard the door of the office open and Looked up. Dr Roger was standing there, smiling at me. I smiled back and stood up. Stepping to the

Chapter Forty One
Chapter Forty One  Getting home, Dad was still at work. I told mum I was going out with my friends and I’d be staying over the night. She wasn’t happy that I was going out on a school night, but she said I could. I think she was just glad that I was back to ‘’normal’’ again. I showered and changed in record time. I even put some make-up on, making a little bit of an effort. I guess I figured if I looked good-ish, I’d feel good-ish. If it worked, it worked. I rushed around my room, Grabbing a few essentials that I’d need, a change in clothes, wash bag, hairbrush, etc, and stuffed them into my backpack before flinging it over my shoulder and heading downstairs again. I text my friends telling them I was on my way as I rushed out the door, c

Chapter Forty Two
Chapter Forty TwoMy revelation seemed to sober up my friends pretty quickly. As soon as the words left my mouth, I instantly regretted them, but I felt relief. I was also glad that we were in the garden and my admission wasn’t heard by the entire senior class... ‘I-I didn’t know’. Chelsea seemed just as shocked and horrified as everyone. ‘I didn’t mean anything by what I said, just-’ ‘Oh shut up Chelsea!’. Thomas scolded her. ‘You were being a judgemental bitch!’. ‘Hey, Back off!’. Sally came to her girlfriend's defence, although he had a point. A separate disagreement kicked off between the three of them, until Raven told them to shut up. I just looked at her, disgusted. SHE

Chapter Forty Three
Chapter Forty ThreeTime passed and I didn’t realize until then how much I had missed them. I wouldn’t even say I knew them that well, but I did, genuinely miss them. It was a little awkward though, me and Toby weren't really talking so the guys tried their best to include me in their conversations. It was getting late, at this point, I wouldn’t even get 5 hours of sleep in by the time I got home, washed, into bed and then having to get up again when my alarm went off. I checked my phone, Not wanting to say anything to Toby. I had crashed his night, I wasn’t going to ruin it by ending it early because I wanted to go home. ‘Are you ready to go?’ Toby leaned over and asked quietly. I just smiled at him.

Chapter Forty Four
Chapter Forty Four  ** A Few Weeks Later **As predicted, I hadn’t seen Toby outside of school still. I had seen the guys though. We met up for a coffee and lunch, minus Toby of course and it was nice having a catch up with them, but they had gone home now. I knew he was still trying to be respectful and give me the ‘’space’’ I had asked for, but... I didn’t want space anymore. I just wanted him. I made sure I was at every lesson he taught, on time for every homeroom. Make sure to pay attention and do well. Literally, anything I could think of to get his attention. I guess I can’t really hold anything against him. There is only so much attention he can give me at work, but... He hadn’t even at

Chapter Forty Five
Chapter Forty Five By the time I got home, I had a bunch of messages from my friends, asking if I was ok and why I hadn’t come back to class. I had a message from Raven too, asking If I wanted to join everyone for dinner tonight, ‘’Her treat’’. I just replied with a simple ‘’no thanks’’ and turned my phone off again. If I didn’t, they would just keep texting. Walking into the house, it was empty. Mum and dad were still at work. I just went into the kitchen and grabbed a can of Coca Cola from the fridge before heading up to my room. I dumped my bag on the floor and slammed the door shut with my foot as I walked through. I took my shoes off and got on my bed, laying down and closed my eyes.

Chapter Forty Six
Chapter Forty SixThe week seemed to fly by within a blink of an eye. I hadn’t seen Toby outside of school, however, we had been texting pretty regularly, even a few times within school hours, but it never really went further than that. There was a little flirting but really, it was almost like I was getting to know him again, falling for him again, and honestly... I wanted him back, but he hadn’t really said anything to the contrary and while there was a little bit of flirting… he would promptly change the subject. …but it was clear there was still a deep connection there. My parents were going to invite Toby themselves, but I told them I’d do it. In all fairness, I had no idea why they were even having a BBQ. They hated them, the food took forever to cook, the weather no

Chapter Forty Seven
Chapter Forty SevenThe day of the BBQ came and as expected, I was far from excited… or happy about it. I couldn’t exactly miss it. It was at my house and my parents would kill me if I bailed. I had told my parents I was fine with the fact they wanted Toby here so… I couldn’t exactly change my mind now, could I? I had decided to temporarily blocked Toby’s number after the very awkward and embarrassing incident. I didn’t really have anything to say to him and I didn’t want to hear anything he had to say to me… Not right now at least.   Just when everything was starting to get better, it went to shit again. Even though he’s dead. Jason is still ruining my life. All this is his fault. My fears, my need for therapy, my PTSD... My trou

Chapter Forty Eight
Chapter Forty Eight When i went down, I said my hello’s and gave my hugs to the guys and then grabbed a can of Pepsi and went to sit down by the pool. The weather was actually surprisingly nice and warm, so I took my shoes off and sat with my feet in the water. If the weather stays nice, I’d go for a swim later on this evening, when everyone has left. No one came over and bugged me, they just left me alone, which I was really glad about. I didn’t want to be rude and ignorant, but I also didn’t want to fake being happy when I clearly wasn’t. I stayed where I was until dad announced the food wouldn't be too long. I reluctantly decided to go and join everyone and wouldn’t you know it, conveniently, the only free seat available was the one right next to Toby. Sitting
