Chapter Forty Six
The week seemed to fly by within a blink of an eye. I hadn’t seen Toby outside of school, however, we had been texting pretty regularly, even a few times within school hours, but it never really went further than that. There was a little flirting but really, it was almost like I was getting to know him again, falling for him again, and honestly... I wanted him back, but he hadn’t really said anything to the contrary and while there was a little bit of flirting… he would promptly change the subject.
…but it was clear there was still a deep connection there.
My parents were going to invite Toby themselves, but I told them I’d do it. In all fairness, I had no idea why they were even having a BBQ. They hated them, the food took forever to cook, the weather no
Chapter Forty SevenThe day of the BBQ came and as expected, I was far from excited… or happy about it. I couldn’t exactly miss it. It was at my house and my parents would kill me if I bailed. I had told my parents I was fine with the fact they wanted Toby here so… I couldn’t exactly change my mind now, could I?I had decided to temporarily blocked Toby’s number after the very awkward and embarrassing incident. I didn’t really have anything to say to him and I didn’t want to hear anything he had to say to me… Not right now at least.Just when everything was starting to get better, it went to shit again. Even though he’s dead. Jason is still ruining my life. All this is his fault. My fears, my need for therapy, my PTSD... My trou
Chapter Forty EightWhen i went down, I said my hello’s and gave my hugs to the guys and then grabbed a can of Pepsi and went to sit down by the pool. The weather was actually surprisingly nice and warm, so I took my shoes off and sat with my feet in the water. If the weather stays nice, I’d go for a swim later on this evening, when everyone has left.No one came over and bugged me, they just left me alone, which I was really glad about. I didn’t want to be rude and ignorant, but I also didn’t want to fake being happy when I clearly wasn’t.I stayed where I was until dad announced the food wouldn't be too long. I reluctantly decided to go and join everyone and wouldn’t you know it, conveniently, the only free seat available was the one right next to Toby. Sitting
Chapter Forty NineThe night continued and eventually, at about 10 o'clock, my parents went inside to settle down and get ready for bed, but me and the guys stayed outside. My parents said they could stay over, I mean, we had enough room for them all. As soon as my parents were gone though, I instantly felt a bit more comfortable. Sure, I had nothing against my parents being around, it was just better when they weren’t. I had a beer... And then two, and soon enough, I started feeling a bit more whimsical. As the night got later though, We headed inside the house so we didn’t disturb any of the neighbours. I closed the lounge doors so that we also wouldn’t disturb my parents, although they were both such deep sleepers that I doubted that would have been a problem.Ryder suggested o
Chapter Fifty** A few days later **I was looking at myself in the mirror, trying to convince myself that I looked good. I was wearing a black strapless dress, a grey cardigan and some Wedge-heeled shoes. I was getting ready for my date with Toby but I was so nervous. I don’t know why, I mean, this wasn’t our first date or anything but it was the first date we had had in a very long time.My parents knew we were going out together tonight, of course. It made things slightly easier, not having to lie. It wasn’t like I flaunted it, especially not in front of dad, but mum had asked me pretty much every day leading up to now what I was planning on wearing tonight.I ha
Chapter Fifty OneAfter pouring a second glass of wine, it was clear that I was either getting a taxi home or staying the night. Both of which I was fine with, but of course, the latter was what I was hoping for. I had a little sip before placing the glass back down and scooting closer to Toby. He placed his hand on my knee and squeezed it. I rested my hand on his cheek and pulled his face closer to mine, planting a soft loving kiss on his lips…..It escalated from there and before I knew it, I was lying under him and he was taking his shirt off. I wrapped my legs around his waist and his hand slid up my naked thigh, getting higher and higher.Good job I wore a dress. As his hand got closer to their destination, He stopped and pulled away
Chapter Fifty TwoThe sunlight woke me up out of my sweet dreams. I blinked a few times as my eyes opened and let out the happiest sigh. I felt the weight of an arm around my waist and turned over, to face Toby. He was still fast asleep and he looked so peaceful. I raised my hand and stroked his face. As if he knew it was me touching him, he smiled but he stayed asleep.I leaned forward and placed a small but loving kiss on his lips before turning back around and raising his arm. I slid out of the bed and picked up Toby’s shirt, Slitting it on and doing a few of the buttons up, covering myself, I headed downstairs. My mouth was so dry, I wasn’t sure if it was the alcohol or just the heat, but I needed a drink.Walking down the
Chapter Fifty ThreeI stayed at Toby’s for the whole weekend and it was the best time of my life. We spent the days hanging out with the guys and being social and our nights together in bed. He cooked for me Saturday night, and then I cooked for him on Sunday. We didn’t go out, mainly because for obvious reasons, we couldn’t risk being seen. I mean... Here in town, he was my teacher.Seeing the guys later on, after they had walked in on us was so embarrassing, but they made a few jokes and the guys strangely gave me some awkward compliments and then after that, all was forgotten. I had a feeling Toby probably got more of a tease about it than I did though.… But sadly, all too soon, we had to return to the real world and when Monday morning rolled around, It was time to get up an
Chapter Fifty FourNow things were fixed and downright perfect with Toby, I decided it was time to fix things with my friends. I’ve avoided them for long enough. I told him to drop me off a short walk from the school. I just didn’t want any gossip hounds to start spreading any rumours. I kissed him goodbye and told him I’d see him soon. Climbing out of the car, I smiled and closed the door again.Once he left, I headed to Starbucks to get myself a morning iced coffee but as I walked in, I saw all my friends, sitting at the usual table we occupied... They looked up when I came in but didn’t come over or even speak to me. I walked over to the counter and ordered myself a drink and big chocolate chip cookies for my friends. The guy took them over while a girl behind the counter made my drink.
