31. Alone
Tristan woke up to the ray of the sun reflecting on his face. He groaned when he opened his eyes to see the sun and used his hands to shade the sun from his eyes.    He felt his head ache as he struggled to get up and then he looked around to find out that he was in a forest and he was lying on the ground.   "The fuck?" He cursed as he looked around again, wanting to believe he was hallucinating he saw the forest and he knew he wasn't.   "What happened?" He asked himself as the last thing he recalled was falling down on his knees and succumbing to the darkness.   Fear gripped him. Did I fail my mission?" He asked himself as he got up from the ground.     He pinched himself to see if it was a dream and he felt pain. "Did I fail my mission?" His heart dropped when he thought of that.   He couldn't recall what happened after then

32. A stitch in time
"I never expected that you would be able to break out of the illusion." Tristan heard the voice of the moon goddess.   He looked around to see that he was in a dark space but hearing the Moon goddess voice made him feel at ease.   "What happened, Moon goddess? How did I get there and why am I here now?" He asked, perplexed.   " A lot happened to you while you were asleep but rest assured. You only slept for two hours. There is still plenty of time for you," the Moon goddess told him.   "What do you mean? The last thing I remember was collapsing in my office. So why did I wake in that place and why am I here now? Why did I suddenly feel pain in my chest?" He asked inquisitively.     " Like I said, a lot happened. Tristan Stone was attacked in your body and stabbed. He was on the edge of dying but I had to intervene and switch things up wh

33. The mix up
"I repeat, what is she doing here?" Jade demanded in a stern tone while Tristan closed his eyes, trying to calm his nerves.   That moment, he wanted everybody gone so he could have some time for himself and also speak to the moon goddess.   He had not expected the Moon goddess altering time to cause this much damage.   Jade was not only demanding an answer from him, she also called him by an endearment and he has no memory of how it happened.   Was he and Jade a thing? He thought to himself.   "Simon called me here," Lydia replied calmly.   Hearing Lydia's voice, Tristan opened his eyes to see the woman that was supposed to be his girlfriend. He wondered how she was coping and if the memories of them were still intact or if the effect of the Moon goddess altering with time affected her too.   "Simon?" Jade turned to look at

34. Effect
"How have you been?" Tristan asked Lydia with a smile on his face.   Just holding her hands made him feel warmth in his stomach.    "I've been good. I'm glad you are awake now," Lydia told him.   Simon cleared his throat. "Aren't you going to go after Tristan?" He asked.   Tristan rose his brows up in a questioning. "What would I do?" He asked.   The facial expression on Simon's face told Tristan that he was surprised to hear his reply.   Tristan had decided to keep Lydia by his side now that he was awake and stay away from Jade so that he would get his mission done.   Jade was a problem before the Moon goddess had altered time and now she was one too. She didn't even change one bit and he wasn't surprised.   "Wow! You are really not going after her? What if she commits suicide?" Simon questioned.

35. She's mine
Simon opened the door and came in to see Tristan and Lydia hugging.   The moment they felt his presence. They pulled away from one another. Lydia tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.   "I sent her home. She said she will call me once she gets home," he told Tristan.   "Okay," Tristan replied shortly.   Simon cleared his throat. He placed both of his hands in his pants Pocket. "I know you both like each other but Tristan, if you knew you would not be able to love her, why did you choose her?" He questioned.   Tristan knowing well he never made that decision and everything happening now was because of the time the moon goddess had altered thought of what to say to Simon that would not blow his cover.   "She said she was going to die so I had to stop her from doing so," he replied.   "Still. Still Tristan, it was better you never chose he

36. A drive down memory lane
Now that Tristan was left alone in the room, he saw it as the perfect opportunity to speak to the moon goddess and have her clarify to him all that had happened and why he was friends with Jade when he wasn't.   He tossed and turned on his bed, disturbed by so many things. He wanted to call for the moon goddess but he just couldn't at the same time.   He was lying on his back with both palms placed on top of his stop while staring at the ceiling. It wasn't dark in the room yet it felt dark for Tristan. It has always been dark for Tristan. All his life he saw darkness.   Whenever he thought of his curse, he wished his father was never cursed and his mother did not have to die because of it. A memory of the past resurfaced in his head and a lone tear slipped down his cheek.               Seven years old Tristan saw his ma

37. Little changes
Tristan imagined how his life would be once his curse was broken and the people's attitude towards him.   He has blended well with the humans and has come to love and understand them very well.    He recalled how envious he was of Tristan Stone when he saw the love and support he got from everyone and then he thought of Simon.   Simon had Tristan Stone back and took his problems on his head as if it was his. Most times he forgets that he wasn't Tristan Stone as he felt the strong bond Simon and Tristan stone had.   He was sure going to miss the human world and he knew it because he was starting to feel like one of them in the body of another.    Tristan exhaled deeply. "I wonder how my life would be if I came from another?"           After having a few conversations with himself of how his life wou

38. Decision
Jade stared at Tristan with a frantic expression masked on her face. "What do you mean by that?" She asked. Tristan took a deep breath. He had always said he was going to do what he felt was right after all his fate was in his hands. He didn't want to keep acting nice to Jade anymore, not after what she did to him before everything changed. "It's as it implies. You say Lydia is suspicious but the true suspicious person here is you. You can't accuse someone you do not know when you are the real suspicious one," he told her.  Jade's eyes fluttered and then her brows creased. "I'm surprised by your statement. You think I am suspicious?" She scoffed. "I have known you for years Tristan and as for you, you haven't known her for half a year and you trust her more than you trust me? Why is that so?" She got up from where she was seated and raked her hair with her fingers.&n

39. A little advice
"So you told her off like that?" Simon asked with a questioning look. "I didn't tell her off. She asked me a question and I gave her my honest reply. I cannot keep lying to her and most especially myself and so I did what was best." Tristan replied. "And what were her questions and what were you replying to? I just feel you weren't nice when you gave her your reply." Simon said. Tristan facepalmed himself. "So you think I would say words to her that could kill her?" He clicked his tongue. He walked closer to Simon. "She asked me to tell her that I didn't want her and she would leave and I told her if that would make her happy then she shouldn't be restricted from doing what would make her happy and I wished her no bad or harm." Tristan answered. Simon scrutinized Tristan. "That was it?" He asked. "Yes. Was that okay? Can I be now? I just came ba

40. Almost there
Tristan had never felt so good before. Since he woke up in the morning, he had a smile on his face, one that he was sure could not be replaced because of the moon he was in. He felt he was closer to accomplishing his mission in the human world and the thought of going back to his world and seeing the reaction he'd get his pack member sent warmth of delight in his belly. As much as he'd miss some things and people in the human world, he knew it was all temporary as he'd have to go back to his world where he ruled as an Alpha.  "Sir, Miss Melton is here." Aria informed Tristan. "Tell her to come in," Tristan ordered and she nodded her head before leaving. Lydia walked in looking effortlessly gorgeous in a strapless black dress, showing off her long legs and gladiator black heels to match. She was barely having any makeup on her face, l
