Chapter 21- Esadowa
Cat   The next morning was like any other, except for the fact that I would wake up next to Owen for the rest of my life. It was a happy change to have him in my life like this. I loved that he wanted to be with me as much as he could. I also loved how he was with Ivy and Jacob.    Everyone was up at the usual time and all of us were going about our day like any other. We were getting chores done and checking on fences and the livestock. I spent time with Andrews' stupid horse, Dexter, but I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere with him. He was just pissing me off today while playing his pranks. Though, I had to hand it to him, he had a personality on him. If only he learned to be helpful, I bet he would be a great horse.     As I was stepping away

Chapter 22-Attack
Owen   All of us were up early the next morning to get work done. Cat needed to check the new cows and see about vaccinations on them. She got them in her cattle books and updated everything while we helped her before we set them loose with the other cattle.    When we were done, she called Amber to talk with the pups and I even listened in on them. Jacob was being his usual brooding self and Ivy was as sweet as ever. I had two pack members watching Easton’s house and even more guards on patrol if Danny decided that he would be even stupider than usual. I didn’t want him sneaking onto my territory to try and take the pups. We would have hell finding him if he took off with them. Cat had informed me that Bennett wouldn’t allow Jacob or Ivy onto Sandstone Pack territory, so Danny wouldn’t  take the

Chapter 23- Interrogate
Owen         I sat in the hospital room with Cat all night. She didn’t move or make a sound as she slept in the bed. Preston let me know that the two rogues we had were healing from flesh wounds and had shifted back to their human forms. They were given clothes and water like I had instructed, and nothing more. It was close to four in the morning when they went back to his house to finally rest.    I didn’t sleep worth a damn on the hospital chair next to Cat’s bed. It was hard and uncomfortable but I wouldn’t leave her side. Someone needed to be here when she woke up and I wanted to be that someone. I hope she wakes up soon so I can take her home. I couldn’t sleep on this damn chair for too many more nights.

Chapter 24- Medicine Rock Pack
Cat   I stirred awake in an uncomfortable bed and started to open my eyes. I tried to open my eyes and squeezed them shut because the light where I was at was blinding. I whimpered in discomfort as my head started pounding with a headache and the light made it so much worse. I wiggled in the bed that I was in and felt something pull at my skin and I hissed in pain.    Suddenly, I felt sparks on my skin starting at my hand and traveling up my arm, then I heard Owen’s voice softly telling me, “Cat, it’s ok. You’re at the hospital at Medicine Rock.”    I nodded my head and groaned as I said, “the light.”     His hands were gone suddenly and the light

Chapter 25- Beta Claim
Preston   Our day had been eventful and we finally put the mysteries to rest before sending Mallory to prison to serve a thirty-year sentence for attempted murder on three accounts. We added another forty to her sentence for the guards she had killed. It was nice to have an end to all the crap we were looking into.    At the end of the day, I went to the hospital to walk home with Esadowa. She blended in with the she-wolves really easily here and the nursing staff enjoyed her. She belonged here with us.    I met her out front of the hospital and offered her my hand as she walked up to me. She took it and we started to walk toward my house. As we walked, I asked questions about her day and was happy that she had a great first official day at the hospital.

Chapter 26- Recover
Cat   The next day, the nurses and Esadowa examined me and gave me pain medication before releasing me to go home. Owen and the kids were happy that I was getting to leave and helped me as I got up from the bed. Owen had gotten me clothes from the house and I went to the bathroom to change into them and out of the thin hospital gown. I was so sore and stiff it took me a little while to change into a baggy t-shirt and leggings.    Once I was done, I walked out of the bathroom and signed myself out of the pack hospital. I always found it amazing that the packs had things like this. They could keep their secret of what they were without any issues and the access to the things they still needed.    “I would like to keep you here at the pack for a few more d

Epilogue- Happy Ever After
Cat ~Four years later It was the end of another long day at Wolfe Ranch. I was sitting on the grass on the front lawn of the main house and watching as Jacob and Ivy finished the last of their chores in the horse stalls. Owen was walking back toward me with them walking on either side of him. He had his cowboy hat on and a big grin graced his lips. It was hard to believe that we had been together for four years now and that Ivy and Jacob were now ten years old. The twins I was holding in my lap wiggled out of my arms and started running toward Owen and their older siblings. Briar and Jasper were two years old and loved having Ivy and Jacob's attention. But most of all, they loved daddy’s attention. I just smiled as I watched Owen pick up both of the boys in his strong arms. “Daddy!” Briar laughed. Jasper took Owen’s hat and placed it on his own head. They were mischievous but that was nothing I hadn’t dealt with when it came to Ivy and Jacob. It's hilarious how eac

Part 2, Chapter 1- The Beta
Jacob I was sitting in my office looking at my computer and wondering how the hell the schedule for guard duty got so screwed up. The time sheet was completely fucked up and I knew I hadn’t done this. Someone else had been messing with the system since I was last in it. The only question was who? “Briar!” I yelled as I sat there with my elbows resting on my desk. I waited for a reply as I looked at the sheet and tried fixing it to its original state. It wasn’t even a minute later and my younger brother’s head popped into the doorframe of my office in the packhouse. Briar took over as Alpha for our dad, Owen, a few months ago and it’s been a rocky start for him so far. Time management for his work schedule and pack duties wasn't his strong suit. Briar’s identical twin, Jasper, was out traveling and exploring the world before he came back home to help on Wolfe Ranch. He had no idea what he wanted to do with his life, so he was out trying to figure that out. Jasper a

Part 2, Chapter 2- She's Mine
Jacob I stared at her for longer than I should have. I recovered from my mindlessness, smiled while stepping forward and offering my mate my hand. She took it immediately and we shook as she smiled sweetly at me. Her smile could light up a room, it was so bright. "Hi. I'm Beta Jacob King from Medicine Rock," I told her with a smile. "Hey. It's good to meet you. I'm Maggie Davis." "I don't think I’ve ever met you before," I told her as I started searching my memory bank for her beautiful face. "We've never officially met, but I saw you here years ago with Beta Danny and a girl that looked like you." "Danny's my dad and the girl was my twin sister, Ivy. We would come here for short visits until we turned eighteen," I explained. She smiled and nodded her head. I had so many questions for her and I wanted to know everything that I could about her. I wanted to know her story and then become a part of it. Our conversation stopped and we stood there stari
