Zerena's P.O.V. "You okay?" Kiran asked me, still gently rubbing my back in bed.  "Yeah, just thinking of Jake." I hated leaving him with the elders, but I knew Sebastian would look out for him.  "You did everything you could for him. They'll find his parents soon." Kiran comforted me.  It had turned out that Jake and his parents had been taken. They were separated and brought to different black markets. Now there's a mission to find the two missing shadow weaver parents. All colonies will be on the lookout. I want to know what this colony, the west, is capable of infantry wise. I really need to see it for myself. I'm curious to know what colony has the strongest infantry.  

Everett's P.O.V.   My mate is here! She is finally here. Among this crowd of young adults lays her beautiful face. I could smell her delightful aroma, of daisies and roses. I felt like a cartoon, being carried by the scent to its source. This was it, I will finally meet my mate after what feels like an eternity of waiting.    I spotted her amongst a group of other young women. She was short in stature, about half my size. She had the sweetest smile, that reached up to the most caring eyes. She was pale with rosy cheeks and red lips, which only made her look more beautiful. She had brown hair that fell just below her shoulder with adorable bangs across her forehead.    She was whimsical, seeming kind and nurturing amongst her friends. Topher's P.O.V. She said she was going to see her family, yet she sealed all the shadows around her. What is she really up to? Why does she keep them closed? It bothers me, but not enough to go see for myself. It was well past 5 now and we'd been sitting around an hour now. They'd come out once to say they had to repair her stomach and bowel as they were injured during the stabbing. Kiran was a mess, twitching his leg, chewing on his thumb. He looked so distressed and all I could do to help was hold his hand. It didn't feel like enough. Topher was standing in front of us, leaning against the wall with arms crossed. He had a soft look about him, one I hadn't seen before.  He looked at Kiran with a deep sadness, like he knew what he was going through.That's when it dawned on me that I have no idea who his parents are. Dad said that they were close friends but I don't know their names or even where they are. Topher never mentions them. Are they dead? Is that why he's looking at Kiren like he knows what he's going through? What happened to his parents? 

Topher whisked us away before I could even say goodbye, or thank you, to Anne.  "Sorry, I didn't want her to ask about the babies. It's better that everyone thinks that you're carrying my child, and I can't lie to Anne." He explained.  "What if I don't want everyone thinking that?" I arched a brow.  "Zerena, don't be stubborn. It'll be easier for us all if they believe that's the case, at least for a little while. Can you just trust me on this?" He stared at me with pleading eyes. I lost myself in them for a moment. "Please." He whispered, stepping closer to me.  "Fine. For a little while, but you better explain why this is better later." I pointed.
