Kylie's POV."We have an emergency!" Oma cried out. I wanted to yell at her for interrupting but when I saw the panic in her eyes, I knew that it must be important."Stay right here!" I instructed Yara and she nodded. I rushed up to Oma immediately and we stepped out together, closing the door behind me."What's wrong?" I asked, worried."Maggie fainted, she is in the hospital." I spotted Mauris behind her."What!" I yelled. He repeated himself but I couldn't hear him again, only his lips were moving, panic crept up my skin. "Where is she?" I asked in a hoarse voice."In the hospital, come with us, we came to get you." I rushed forward immediately, then I remembered that they are the ones taking me there so i had to slow down for them to catch up.Oma slipped into the back seat of Mauris car while I entered the front seat, Mauris took the while and turned on the ignition. All kinds of questions were running through my head, what could have happened? Is she sick? But how could she be s

Mauris POV Continued. After the refreshing shower, I couldn't come up with anything. I paced my room, drying my body with a large towel. What do I do? Who can I ask for help? How can I avoid causing any trouble for Yara and Kylie tomorrow? All these questions and more kept ringing in my head. I knew for sure that the council would sniff Yara's mark out the moment she stepped into the room. They would know immediately that Kylie did not mark her and that scenario could turn very ugly in a few seconds.I needed to protect her, I couldn't let her but I couldn't suffer the same fate as my mother, at the hands of power-hungry Alphas. I thought about it long and hard for what seemed like hours before I made up my mind to talk to my father, he didn't seem like the best option and I would be betraying Kylie but I needed to do this to protect both Kylie and Yara. The only person that had that amount of power to fix this mess and set things right is the Alpha and that's my father, sadly he is K

Oma's POV.I was on my way to the breakfast table to grab a cup of coffee or hot cocoa when I saw Maggie hurrying towards Mauris room, she informed me that Kylie already left for the meeting and my presence is required alongside Mauris and Yara. My heart almost jumped out of my chest, not like I wasn't expecting this but I just hoped that Mauris had a plan or else things are about to go down hill from here.I followed her to Mauris room after shoving down a slice of toast bread and gulping down the coffee i poured into my mug. Mauris wasn't in his room so we headed straight for Yara's room and found him there, holding hands with her. Maggie passed her message to them, I could sense the panic that enveloped them but we didn't have a choice, we couldn't avoid this forever, they had to face the consequences of their actions.Yara got dressed quickly and as usual, she tied a scarf around her neck. Mauris changed into his suit while I found my usual outfit, a pair of pants and a chiffon to

Kylie's POV.The council meeting would have been the perfect opportunity to assert my dominance and prove to everyone that I was the true leader of our pack but then Mauris, Yara and even Oma had betrayed me. It stung to know that Oma would do something like that, she had always been loyal to me no matter what. I stepped out of the elevator, my fists clenched, and my body shaking with anger and disbelief. I couldn't believe what I had just heard and seen. Mauris, my best friend, had marked Yara, the woman I had gone through hell to find, it took me so long to get everything into place and she was soon to become my Luna. How could Mauris do this to me, his brother?I stormed out of the building, pushing people out of my way, I ignored all the greetings and simply shoved my secretary aside when she stepped in front of me. She knew better than to follow me. I needed to get out of there, away from the people who had just betrayed me. I needed to clear my head, to get away from the emoti

Mauris POV.The pain that shot up my body when Kylie dug his fingers into my chest, weakened my entire body at that time, I knew I had lost the battle and felt awful for betraying my friend and dragging Oma and Maggie into this but I didn't regret anything I had done or shared with Yara, she is just too precious to regret. Her presence in the room, gave me the courage I needed to confront Kylie, when she jumped in between us, I had never felt an urge as powerful as the one that enveloped me then, the urge to protect her.I knew my father had tried to trick me into agreeing with him on selling off the agricultural produce or risk exposing my secret to Kylie. The fact that I didn't side with him, made him not interfere in the fight, not like I was expecting his help anyways. When I lost, I felt sad not because of anything else but because I had not been true to myself and to Kylie, he didn't deserve this, he had been talking about taking his throne ever since we first met. Now, I had de
